His Barackness blessed his loyal subjects with his first press conference of the year yesterday. The fact that all eyes were on the GOP fueled “Super Tuesday” surely had nothing to do with it. More than likely, the quarter of a year delay was due to the inordinate amount of time required to prepare a steaming pile of verbal dung like the one he flung at us during yesterday’s presser. President Obama was peppered with questions of varying origin, and he responded with emotions of varying sincerity. I got the feeling that the press conference was keeping him from something. It was as if he was a little put-off by the fact that he had to take time out of his exalted day to answer questions from the lowly public. I assume the questions were keeping him from his fair-share of campaigning or golf. When someone had the audacity to question the brilliance behind his “sanction on top of sanction” approach to dealing with Iran, I thought his jaw might un-hinge.

“Iran is feeling the bite of these sanctions in a substantial way” he responded. Really? Are they really feeling the “bite?” Sanctions have been levied against Iran and their unique government for as long as anyone can remember. They’re piling up like parking tickets on an abandoned car. The owner of the car will never pay the tickets, yet the cops keep writing them. Obama rolled out the tired, old rhetoric about the drums of war, and how those warmongers on the right are beating them. Hogwash as usual, sir. It is you on the left who is beating the drums, yet they are not the drums of war. They are the tie-dyed, Birkenstock wearing, patchouli oil dripping, drums of liberalism. You have been trying since your first days in office to extend your liberal version of foreign policy to Iran. They have taken your offerings and made a fool of you and the country for whom you so valiantly campaign. Barack Hussein Obama also dropped a bit of his supreme military knowledge on us when he said “a casual approach to war leads to mistakes.” On this point, we are in agreement but I sincerely doubt that it is for the same reasons. I believe that war should be carefully approached. If handled the right way, there doesn’t have to be a war. Handled Obama’s way, with sanctions and finger wagging, and we will eventually be forced to interrupt one of the many Immaculated Vacations when Iran points a nuclear weapon at Israel.

His Barackness arrogantly explained his ever evolving position on Iran’s continued refusal to back up their claims of innocent nuclear intentions with proof. All we have asked for is proof that Iran is not using it’s nuclear program to develop a weapon. Just let the inspectors inside the facilities to insure that your low-grade uranium has not become highly enriched uranium. Taht’s all we’ve ever asked. They have sworn that they are not interested in weaponry, but they steadfastly refuse to offer any kind of evidence whatsoever of this claim. Obama says that his “policy is not containment. His policy is to prevent them from creating a nuclear weapon.” Just how the hell does he plan to do that? Does he plan to sit with Iranian President Badmood Inadinnerjacket down at the local pub to share a few pints and off-color jokes before working things out? Maybe they could exchange some of those sweet Members Only jackets. That’s been tried. Remember back in 2008 when Obama tried to extend his anointed hand to the Iranians and Ahmadinejad? Has any progress whatsoever been made in terms of proving Iran’s nuclear ambitions?

Sanctions do not work. In fact, these sanctions are causing more problems for the United States than simply ignoring them may have done. Iran is not the threat that many seem to believe they are. Iran’s government is a hybrid consisting of equal parts democracy and theocracy but the two have not seen eye to eye since the acceptance of this structure back in 1979. Their weird form of government has earned them very little respect in the heavily Islamic region and therefore does not lend itself to the retaliatory strikes that would surely come from a strike against a country like Afghanistan. Iran is all talk. Their false bravado has been sufficiently exposed, yet they continue to run their mouths. Now, the Supreme Leader is making mention of his intentions, with recent capture of majority control in Iran’s Parliament, to do away with the office of President in their confusing governmental structure. This means that any progress Obama believes he has made in Iran has been made with a man who may not even hold any power when it comes time to implement any deals they might reach. He keeps touting the success of his diplomatic approach but he’s approaching the wrong man!

This ‘wait-and-see’ approach of Obama is a slap in the face to Israel and is most likely being seen as such by Israeli PM Netanyahu. Obama is putting his own political needs ahead of the needs of a historically loyal ally and it’s about to bite him in his arrogant buttocks. Why does he believe sanctions will work? Sanctions are like traffic laws. Yes, they’re in place for a reason but are you more likely to follow them on your own, or when there is a State Trooper behind you? Admit it, as soon as you see that reinforced front bumper and light bar in your rearview mirror you sit up a little straighter; you turn the radio down and find it much easier to ignore the incoming texts than when he’s not there, don’t you? Even if you’re not ‘ridin dirty’ as rapper Chamillionaire so eloquently put it, you still shape up, right? Now, imagine you’ve threatened to use your influence to jack up gas prices for not only that particular trooper, but for all troopers….and their families…..and their friends. Not only that, but you’ve ignored repeated requests by the Troopers for proof that you are not working on a weapon capable of annihilating a large portion of State Troopers and their supporters. In that situation, which do you suppose would have more impact…..a sternly worded letter from the American Association of State Troopers or a coordinated show of force? Would you be more likely to respond to a speed limit sign, or a heavily armed police shadow?

Israel has asked us to either show our support with military assistance or to step out of the way when they feel a strike is the only way to save themselves. That’s not beating the drums of war. To suggest such moronic lunacy is just tired, liberal rhetoric designed to give Obama a political edge in this election year nightmare. A nuclear threat is the last thing a weak leader like Obama needs right now. This will expose him for the political, self-serving monster that he truly is. He is going to have to find a way to convince us that he is not willing to sacrifice Israel to keep gas-prices from climbing even higher. Yes, the Ayatollah would absolutely love to see the United Sates do something stupid that he could finally pounce on and win the support of his Islamic brethren in the region but flexing our military muscle a bit does not have to lead to war. It only has to lead to war if there is a terribly weak leader in office. (Hint, hint….undecided voters!) We’re working on changing that scenario, Mr. President. Can you support us and stop dancing around hoping to get the best of both world’s from this situation? A true leader does what’s right in the face of political backlash. Obama’s ambitions only include Israel when they can benefit His Barackness. His Barackness does not like being put in a political-pickle. (Say it out loud, it’s fun!) This could get very entertaining watching him squirm if we can only get the media to ask the questions. Quit getting distracted with their carefully executed maneuvers like Sandra Fluke and force Obama to the carpet for his ineptitude. If we allow the media to give him room, he’ll figure out a way to make this whole thing look like it was either all his idea, or completely out of his control…..whichever helps his campaign the most.

By now you’ve most likely heard the sad tale of Sandra Fluke; the bright eyed, naive young woman attending Georgetown Law School with no clue as to the sexual workings of this big world in which we city-folk all live. Oh wait, that’s a different story. The Sandra Fluke you might have heard of in recent weeks is actually a THIRTY year old women’s rights activist who carefully reviewed the Insurance Policies at Georgetown and then committed her attendance with the sole intention of battling what she sees as an oppressive violation of her rights. You see, Georgetown has the audacity to not provide, via insurance coverage, birth control devices or services to it’s many, many, drunken, frat-partying, sexually active student body. How dare they, right? I’m still having a difficult time wrapping my head (no pun intended) around her whole argument. I made it almost four decades on this earth without ever being handed a free condom. Why is this suddenly a Congressional matter? It wouldn’t have anything to with politics, would it?

The left wants us to believe that the expense of condoms and other forms of birth control is so burdensome to women in colleges across the country that Congress simply had to act before lives were in danger. This is complete nonsense. This is a cleverly executed tactic the left used to make us voice disgust. Rush called her a “slut” and the left has completely lost their minds, but this outrage is so manufactured it’s sickening. Am I seriously expected to believe that the left cares about personal attacks? They make it sound as if this innocent little farm-girl was plopped naked into the center of a campus crawling with predatory men lusting after her milky flesh. That is simply not the case. More than likely, Sandra Fluke is the kind of girl we all remember from college. The girl with the bad haircut and the awkwardly fitting clothing that hung out by the guacamole all night making cool people uncomfortable. She was the one that would storm home alone after watching her more promiscuous friends leave with the guys she secretly “liked.” The left wants us to believe that she’s just a typical college student trying to get by and make ends meet but the fact remains that she’s going to a $70,000 per year law school and a box of 100 Trojan Condoms can be delivered to your home for under $40. You do the math!

Men, when shown a picture of Sandra Fluke have not exactly responded in a way that helps her veiled, “can’t buy condoms fast enough” Congressional description of her life. Most common are responses like “eww, she’s like 30, bro” ….or…. “you mean that girl with the mustache? Ugh, I’d wear two condoms.” My personal response when I first saw her image was “Do they make eye-condoms?” While she may want me to believe that there are thousands of unsheathed erections chasing her around campus each day, I have a tough time believing that this young woman with her stated political aspirations and Hillary-esque pantsuits could possibly need more than $40 worth of birth control each month. To put it as lightly as I’m willing to put it…..no way is she having more than 100 sexual encounters each month! All kidding aside, I do have a few questions I would like to hear Madame Fluke answer at some point.

1. You know Obama just gave you $40 per paycheck in Payroll Tax Deductions, right? That’s 200 condoms a month. Could you possibly scrape by with that?
2. Do you feel that your “unique situation” demanded a personal phone call from the President of the United States? Before you answer, please understand that the families of the soldiers killed in Afghanistan as a result of his “apology” last week will only be receiving a form letter with a hastily scribbled signature at the bottom of the page. What makes you so much more worthy of Presidential outreach than the families of those six soldiers or any soldiers for that matter?
3. Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a “dumb twat.” New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has to put up with more fat-jokes than Free Brownie Day at Lane Bryant. Andrew Breitbart’s death was greeted with absolutely horrendous response from those on your side of the political aisle, yet you feel as though we owe you a special pass, Ms Fluke. Does that seem like the “fairness” your liberal god demands?

4. Is it true that you and Nancy Pelosi are doing a swimsuit calendar? If yes, is it also true that you are planning to pay people to take them?
5. Why do you feel, Ms Fluke, that freedom of speech should be applied to the porn industry where “slut” is pretty much the nicest thing a woman gets called, but it should cease to apply to conservative talk show hosts? Again, is that a liberal’s idea of fair?
6. Do you honestly believe that you are a strong voice for women? Should I teach my daughters to look up to the woman who believes others should fund her carelessness or should I teach them that they are strong enough to say “NO” to the man who can’t at least afford his own rubber? (Seriously, what kind of losers are you dating?! Condoms are $0.75 at the gas station up the street. Send me the quarters you were going to use to wash that aforementioned pantsuit and I’ll send you a few of them! Maybe even one of those glow-in-the-dark ones since I assume your lovemaking does NOT occur with the lights on.)
7. Have you ever typed the word “slut” into Google? If yes, can you honestly say that a) there’s a huge public outrage over the general use of this word, or b) that you look like ANY of the images that appear?

This whole Fluke-ing issue is just another fabricated distraction that the left is deploying to take our eyes off the prize. They will make this one issue, the contraception mandate, the most important issue in this election. I mean, if we’re so consumed with proving that contraception is not the job of the government and we waste all our time, money, energy, and voice on this issue, how will we point out all the glaring failures in Obama’s performance as President? By giving this Fluke-ing idiot more than fifteen minutes of our attention, we are taking pressure off. We are allowing them to convince the masses that things are improving. We are giving them space to convince the bleating sheep that jobs are overrated and that battery operated cars are the status symbol we all aspire to own. Did anyone notice, amidst all this contraception nonsense, that Chevy announced they are stopping production on the slow selling, fast burning Chevy Volt for “at least five weeks?” Story was cleverly suppressed, huh? Stop playing into their nonsense and keep the focus where it needs to be. Keep the pressure on. If they get upset, assume it’s a ploy. If they try to bait you into conversation, assume their partner is sneaking up behind you. Keep your head on a swivel and your eyes on the prize. The next distraction they roll out might actually be attractive. What will we do then?

In Defense of Cowards….

I know this is a bit of a dated reference, but think back to the movie A Few Good Men with Tom “Starship-Crazy” Cruise and Jack Nicholson. Aside from the obvious problems that would be present in a reality where Jack Nicholson was in charge of Gitmo, the movie does bear a striking resemblance to the world in which we now find ourselves. Remember how scared the two Marines standing trial became when they were forced to accept the fact that those who outranked them were far less loyal to the Corps and it’s principals than they were? They were terrified, yet they still acted in accordance with the laws of “their corps.”

That’s a loyalty and a bond that only those who have served will ever truly understand and even many of those simply enjoy it without understanding. The actors who played the roles of the two Marines in the film were allowed to go home and enjoy the fruits of their terrific performances. The five soldiers who were recently discovered to have been involved in the accidental burning of Qurans in Afghanistan are not afforded such luxuries. Reuters reports that senior clerics in Afghanistan, speaking in statements made via Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s office, have said that “U.S. apologies will never be accepted. Those who committed this crime must be publicly tried and punished.” Now, I don’t know about you, but I just have a really hard time imagining our boys getting any form of “innocent until proven guilty” in an Afghan courtroom. Does that make me racist? I don’t really care any more.

Can you imagine being one of the five soldiers involved? You’ve seen the spotty videos of the throbbing crowds all over the dusty, dirty, primitive country….imagine being the one they are all mad at. Really try to picture the emotions you would be going through today. Luckily, our military has trained away a lot of the fears a normal American would be feeling, but do you honestly believe that you would be courageously confident if your feet were stuffed into the dusty, worn combat boots of one of those five soldiers? I think even great writers like Thor, Baldacci, and Flynn would have a tough time guiding their famed characters through the maze of the fear that must be going through the minds of those soldiers. They hear the throngs of rioters outside the gates of their bases. They see the increased level of alert on the faces of their brothers. They hear the reports of soldiers dying as a result of their unintentional actions but they don’t get any reprieve. Can you imagine being in their shoes? Now, can you imagine being in their shoes and believing that the executive level of United States Government cares about you? The libs will say that I’m just being hateful, or racist, or unfair, or a right-wing nutjob, or any of the other clever names they throw at us to avoid discussing anything that makes the Immaculated One look bad but the fact is that they are defending Barack Hussein Obama from the comfort of their climate controlled homes, in the safety of their own familiar geography, with a significantly fewer number of rioting Muslims outside the borders of their neighborhoods. Those who say Barack Obama was right to apologize are simply wrong. Obama’s apology has fueled the mobs. His apology has emboldened the Muslim world and they now believe that we will just hand over our soldiers to be tried in their primitive, hateful, version of justice. This cannot be allowed to happen.

For too long our military has been asked to carry out the missions politics won’t permit. Obama is the commander of the military yet when their actions offend, or in some way hurt those who support campaign, he can’t distance himself fast enough. Our military deserves better. Our military deserves leaders who suffer right alongside them and look for solutions that keep America first, not poll numbers. I’m assuming that the soldiers receiving the brunt of the backlash for this accident are not above the rank of  Lieutenant. They are most likely E-4’s or lower. At that pay-grade, in an already hostile environment, orders are not questioned. Orders are followed regardless of how it may look. A commanding officer tells you to incinerate a pile of books, you don’t look through the pile of books and take out the ones you think might be in there by mistake! Should the Qurans have been spared? Sure. Should the prisoners at Parwan Detention Facility be allowed to use the Qurans provided to them by US Taxpayers to communicate their handwritten extremist messages but then cry foul when someone else desecrates it? I for one could not be more sick of hearing about our soldiers dying in the name of protecting Muslim sensitivities. I’m willing to bet there were a few Bibles burned in the World Trade Center. Anybody ever apologize to us for that? Had there been a pile of Bibles on any of the planes used in the cowardly acts of September 11, 2001; would they have landed the planes out of respect for Christianity?

We discuss politics and poll numbers while our soldiers stare down the enemy wondering if they will be forced to pull their trigger. We enact laws that support the needs of the most vocal and well represented - soldiers defend our right to do so. We worry about the price of gas while they sleep in a hole in the dirt. We stand silently by as our President apologizes before an investigation has even concluded. We apologize for accidentally burning a pile of discarded rubbish seized from prisoners, yet our soldiers are forced to standby and watch as the American Flag is burned daily. I understand that the Quran is their Holy Book, but as liberals love to point out, the United States is NOT a Church-state. In our country, the flag is just as important as the Quran is to them. Especially among the military. I have absolutely zero respect for our current President but I will get down on a knee and pray to the one true God that Barack Hussein Obama respects the military enough to fight tooth and nail to avoid an Afghan trial. Any of those five soldiers would take a bullet to protect the President. Not to protect Barack Hussein Obama,  but to protect the United States President. There’s a BIG difference. It’s a difference that those soldiers most assuredly understand but one that seems to elude the logic of Papa Barry.

If you were stuck behind those walls, would you feel confident that Barack Obama cares more about you than his own campaign? Honestly? Our military deserves better. Our military deserves the respect of their President and their country; not disdain and abandonment in the face of political pressure. Our military deserves the same humble integrity from those they protect as they demand of themselves. Our military deserves a President who sheds tears over the names of each and every fallen soldier, not one that recites their numbers only when it adds impact to a speech.

Ignorant Apology Ignored….

Sometimes all it takes is that one microsecond to change your entire outlook. Sometimes it’s a much longer, drawn out process. Sometimes your fortunes change from good to  bad. Those are the changes that usually occur in an instant, and often seem to have devastating impact. A car accident happens in just a fraction of a second but can have multiple effects on the futures of multiple lives. The changes that go from bad to good are the ones that take a little longer to develop. The process that is required of a transition from bad to good is a journey. Along the way, challenges are met, lessons are learned, losses are suffered, and experience is gained. These moments unite to insure the sweetness of individual victory. Occasionally, the victory is shared, but the ensuing emotions are always processed individually. I think we’re on the verge of a big, shared victory but there are a few steps taken in our collective pasts that require further review. It’s been a long journey, but one we must understand before we can truly utilize the gift of it’s victory. 

The Quran burning incident that occurred in Afghanistan recently is unfortunate, but quite frankly does not deserve the attention it has received. Yes, I understand that the Quran is the Holy Book of the Muslims and that burning it is strictly forbidden in their part of the world. Shouldn’t have happened, but please bare in mind that these particular Qurans were part of the library at the Parwan Detention Facility at Bagram Air Base Afghanistan. That library, according to Brigadier General Carsten Jacobsen, had been ordered destroyed because enemy inmates had filled the books with handwritten extremist messages. A secret communication system that could have easily resulted in violent insurgence within the perimeters of the base. Do you inspect each piece of garbage before tossing the bag into the dumpster? No, you do not. This was an unfortunate mistake but it was certainly NOT one deserving of a Presidential apology. The apology from NATO was plenty. The main thing Obama did by apologizing was fuel their already burning desire to see us all dead. President Karzai of Afghanistan, whom I believe should feel a bit of gratitude to the United States and our soldiers , responds that the soldiers who burned the Qurans should be put on trial in Afghanistan. That, quite frankly, is just not an option…..is it? What do you say, Barack Hussein Obama? Is it an option in your mind to allow men who were following indirect orders from you, to stand trial in a country run by men who hate everything those soldiers represent? As cowardly as that would seem, that’s essentially the impression his apology gave.

Why do Muslims hate us though? Our intentions are noble, for the most part. Of course there’s a little bit of greed involved, but despite what the left may say, the majority of the money made in the energy industry is reinvested in the form of research and progress. So why the hatred? The answer, as painful as it may be to hear, may just be that tipping point that completes our transition from bad to good as a country. Muslims do in fact hate the United States. That statement would normally draw a defensive ire in  me that left me feeling a bit racist. How dare they hate America? Just who the heck do they think they are?

Well, here’s who they are. They’re a very insulated people. Their world revolves around religion but that religion is a very different one from the one America claims to be “under.” For the most part, a Muslim’s understanding of Christianity is as limited as your knowledge of Islam. I’ll admit, my view of Islam is through Christian-tinted glasses. I have seen their faith as contradictory to my own, but further study reveals that the divide in our beliefs is not always as wide as previously thought. In many instances, the divide between Christians and Muslims is the widest space in the known universe, but at times, there are striking similarities.  The wars, and the disgust with one another’s faith comes not from the teachings of either religion, but rather from man’s interpretations of those teachings. It’s those interpretations that so often cause social upheaval, violence, and global outrage. As much as it absolutely disgusts me to say it, Muslims are simply following the orders of Allah when they infiltrate and attack the United States. Before you shoot your computer to get rid of my blasphemous words, hear me out…..Islam teaches that there should be no hatred for “those who worship God.”  The Quran tells them that murder and stealing is wrong but the difference is that the Quran only believes it’s wrong if done to another Muslim. Their faith teaches them that we are “unbelievers” and therefore not protected. In their Islam-shaded eyes,  the United States looks exactly as the Quran warns them the “Great Satan” would look. Both the Holy Bible and the Quran condemn abortion, yet the laws of the United Sates support the act. Both the Holy Bible and the Quran teach that God is the creator of the universe yet evolution is taught and seemingly accepted here. The Bible and the Quran teach chastity, yet we flood the planet with pornography, indecency, and a steady diet of wardrobe malfunctions. The Bible and the Quran mutually condemn gambling, drunkenness, and the occult yet here in the good ol’ USA we have casinos, the lottery, Las Vegas, a beer commercial every 7 minutes, horoscopes, and Halloween. Let’s face it, that’s how they see us. We’re all drunk pornstars, dining from a witch’s cauldron while warming our opulent homes with burning money. A law known as Jizya, in the Islamic Faith commands Muslims to forcefully take the property of “unbelievers” as a tribute to Allah. To them, we are a nation of “unbelievers.”

I think most of us would agree that a sharp turn back toward the moral center might do this country some good but I don’t believe such a course correction should be done  simply to avoid cowardly acts of terrorists. Such an act should be done because we ARE “one nation, Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Whether you worship in Church or just step aside and quietly support those who do, we have got to get our act together. Right now, our laws favor Muslims more than Americans in some cases and they are finding new ways to exploit our moral absence. We ARE a Christian nation because the alternative is unacceptable. Support that idea or we may just pack you onto a boat and send you over to them so that you may enjoy their kind of religious freedom. Got it?

That may seem like I am saying we should bow to the commands of the extremists who use beheadings, bombings, killing of soldiers, kidnappings, sabotage, and corruption as a form of religious expression but I assure you I am not. I pointed out the problems the Muslims have with the United States, but notice I did not say they were problems with Christianity. We need to make a course correction because it is the right thing to do, not because the word of Allah has any bearing whatsoever in my life or any of the lives of people I love. As much as the Muslims may believe we are a Godless country because we don’t gut adulterous women in the streets, or follow the letter of our Scriptures….there is and always will be one key factor that they truly misunderstand. Their faith requires constant acts to earn the love and approval of their God. Christians are already forgiven for any sin they have committed, and every sin they ever will commit. Yes, our morals could use a fine-tuning, but to say that we are a Godless country is not their call to make. It’s time to close off loopholes that are allowing an all out invasion. They don’t have to approve of our faith but they are sure as hell not going to be allowed to use it against me, in my own home. Our religion provides freedoms they will never understand and our Constitution provides even more but both must be defended. Religious ignorance is not the weapon that will defeat us unless we allow it to be.

So, is this election the launch of that transition from bad to good? Has the Obama administration been the journey through bad times that we all hope it will be? I sure hope so. America is starting to realize that our President is only as capable as we demand of him. When we elect a constantly campaigning, salesman….we shouldn’t be surprised when that’s exactly how he runs the country. It’s time to demand better. It’s time to be better. All of us. The Constitution of the United States does not require anyone to be a Christian. In fact, it does quite the opposite. It goes out of the way to make sure that all faiths have a home within the borders of this great country. That doesn’t mean you can have it both ways though. If you come to this country, for any reason, you obey the laws AND the customs of the United States. Not the other way around. We do not transform our laws to support your customs and you do not get to invoke your customs to save you from punishment in our country. You may have read that you are allowed to take the property of “unbelievers” but I doubt very seriously your Jizya will be able to withstand the blast of my 2nd Amendment Rights!
