The Victory Celebration That Was Neither…..

Every fiber of my being tells me I should be furious right now, but quite frankly; fury is not the emotion that comes to mind. Of course I’m never happy when His Barackness is given reason to celebrate but my general mood simply doesn’t match the level of fear I’ve held in anticipation of this day for the last two months. Maybe it’s the fact that I just returned home from a wonderful vacation with my entire family, or maybe it’s the fact that Obama’s celebration, as is the case with so much of his presidency, seems cheap and insincere. It’s as if he knows this victory is not really a victory.

The overall response to the Supreme Court’s decision today is confusion. I do not appear to be alone in my bewilderment. Those of us who had prepared for anger and revolution in response to the ruling we were handed this morning find ourselves in possession of contradictory emotions. We know at our core that ObamaCare is a bad thing. We are intelligent enough to know that the sight of a celebrating Obama is never a good thing. We’ve been conditioned to know that Obama’s celebrations usually mean devastation and misery for those of us on whose behalf he claims victory. A perfect example of this would be the arrogance with which Obama said in response to the SCOTUS ruling that “…now is the time to keep our focus on the most urgent issue of our time….putting people back to work…..” Apparently His Barackness believes the Catholic Church was bluffing in their promise to close all Catholic Hospitals in this country if forced to obey an “unjust law.” Apparently, Obama defines victory for the 765,894 employees of those hospitals as entry into the community of victimization known as unemployment. Those people, in Obama’s mind, must suffer for their insubordination and stubborn indignation in their opposition to his brilliance. Three quarters of a million people out of work is a mere grain of sand on a beach compared to the number of jobs companies will be forced to scrap in order to pay for this bill. But who really won today? Did Obama really win as his openly displayed arrogance would seem to suggest. The answer is an emphatic “NO!”

Obama did not win. Don’t be fooled. Don’t be hoodwinked any more. Don’t let the celebrity laden celebrations fool you. Don’t let the reaction of hospital administrators fool you either. Their celebration is strictly financial and has absolutely nothing to do with the healthcare YOU will receive in the future. The only celebration to be found in the executive levels of major hospitals today is the hope that they will soon be recouping millions of dollars in previously “uncompensated care.” The flood of “newly insured” patients clogging the arteries of our nation’s healthcare facilities is the elephant in the room. It’s a topic almost impossible to discuss without shades of racism but it’s a certain future. Despite the liberal pleasing agony that is sure to come, it’s still not a victory for Obama.

Today’s ruling is not a victory for Obama in the fact that this whole hearing and ensuing speculation has revealed that it is wildly unpopular among voters. It will be very hard for Obama to win on a campaign of “I passed the biggest tax increase in American history.” It will be very difficult for Obama to win in November after what is sure to be four solid months of logical dissent. People who are currently cheering the ruling are doing so because they don’t understand its impact. Four months is a long time to educate those people. By saying it was “definitely not a tax” in the beginning but then pitching the law as a “tax” to the Supreme Court, liberal lawyers won the battle but lost the war. They handed over the White House to Mitt Romney. Plain and simple. Obama swore there would be “no tax increases” during his presidency and he has now championed the largest in history. His “victory” has exposed him as a liar once more. The fact that he did not use the word “tax” one single time in his response to the ruling should tell you how much he fears the backlash. The fact that money is now pouring into the Romney campaign should tell you how America feels. This “victory” that Obama is celebrating today is like a football team celebrating a win in which every starter was injured. The American people do not want this law. Whether it’s a tax or not, it’s not what we want. Obama is publicly celebrating the fact that he’s exerting his will over all of us and it is going to come back and bite him in his lying ass in November.

Many of you are calling for the execution of Justice Roberts’ career today and at first glance I was right there with you. However, after reading his decision, it’s painfully obvious that Justice Roberts is playing for a much bigger victory than the one Obama’s insincerely celebrating today. Justice Roberts was expected to uphold the opinion of the party for whom he was appointed to represent in battles like this. People, he did just that. It’s not easy to see right now through the haze of anger and celebrating political foes, but Justice Roberts just gave Romney every piece of ammunition he will need to evict Obama and his insane ideology from the White House in November. Justice Roberts also forced the repeal battle back into Congress where it can be argued on a political stage. Advantage Republicans. The bill is likely to become even more unpopular as more and more people realize that it is in fact a tax as we’ve said all along. Clips of Obama lecturing his interviewers who dared to call the penalty for not having health insurance a “tax” will be played from now until November 6th and they will only serve to prove that this man is an incompetent, deceptive, liar. Those in Congress who choose to side with Obama during the inevitable Congressional repeal process will do so in public and at their own peril. Justice Roberts, while unpopular today, may have just delivered what we are all really asking for. He forced Obama to celebrate something that voters hate. He forced the Obamanites in Congress to publicly display their constituent crushing loyalty. This ruling, while unpopular on its surface is a good thing.

While we are all a little disappointed in the Supreme Court today, it must be pointed out that they did their job. The way the argument was presented to them during the hearings left them no choice but to uphold the law. The fact that the liberals swore it to be anything but a tax in 2009 bears no relevance in their decision. Their job was to evaluate the facts as they were presented to them. If we wanted the “tax” issue taken out of the argument, we should have hired better lawyers. We didn’t and now this is the battle we face. Luckily, Justice Roberts is in fact on our side and he has arranged for this battle to be fought on our home field. He has arranged for this battle to take place against the backdrop of a Congress that has failed to pass a budget even once during Obama’s presidency. He’s arranged for this battle to take place prior to the election, not after as Obama so desperately wanted. One way or another, the support Obama needs to truly “win” is going to be noticeably absent when called to action. Even more importantly, the gift of Justice Roberts’ decision will force fools like Pelosi, Rangel, and Reid to publicly execute themselves…..on the record…..for all the world to see. A repeal vote is coming before the Presidential election, folks. It could come as early as next month. How will the quivering little handbag Chihuahuas protect themselves and their careers without denouncing their golfing God? When asked to choose between their own political futures and Obama’s, who do you think they will choose?

Like I said in the beginning of this article, I know I should feel angry today, but I just don’t. Despite the celebrations of my opponents today, I feel victorious. I feel like the kid who gets the keys to his dream car on his fifteenth birthday. Can’t drive it yet. Have to watch as others enjoy the thrill of my gift but eventually, that car will be mine. Eventually, this country will be free from the insane ideology of Barack Hussein Obama and Justice Roberts deserves some of the credit for that glorious and rapidly approaching day.

As always, thanks for playing!

Obama’s Taxapalooza…..

By: George Jarkesy

@Jarkesy

A common theme since the Occupy Wall Street pageants commenced last year has been that Democrats and more specifically the President somehow represent the 99% and that Republicans only support the 1 %. This misguided thinking is aided and abetted by the Administration and mainstream media which continuously and purposely try to divert attention from the real issues that are Nation is suffering from (issues where President Obama’s track record is weak at best). The President would have Americans focus on themes that have no impact on the economic wellbeing of middle and lower class families. Sideshow issues such as the “war on women”, “gay marriage” , “temporary piece of tape on a 30 year old immigration crisis and Mitt Romney’s dog come to mind (although this list is significantly longer).

Masterfully, the 99% vs. the 1% storyline has been extended to the current discussion over a very important issue: Taxes.

The previously negotiated tax increases or the end of tax reduction period is set to take place on “Taxmageddon”, January 1st, 2013. It will crush our already fragile economy and seriously impact lower and middle class families. There will roughly be 500 billion dollars in annual tax increases. The media has painted this situation as a Robin Hood scenario, whereby only the idle rich get soaked, but let’s look at the facts. What actually happens when the clock strikes midnight on January 1?

First, we have the expiration of what are called “the Bush” tax cuts. Then factor in Obama Care which is set to implement the first 5 of its 18 new taxes in 2013. Heritage Foundation’s Curtis Dubay reports that American households (the 99%) can expect to face an average tax increase of $3,800 and that 70 percent of Taxmageddon’s impact will fall directly on low-income and middle-income families, leaving their pocket books $346 billion lighter.

According to the American Enterprise Institute’s James Pethokoukis, tax increases from 1980-93 add up to 3.3% of GDP in thirteen years vs. 3.5% of the GDP just for just one year in 2013.

Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke came out recently and spoke about the brazen amount of tax hikes that would kill the American economy saying; “under current law, on January 1st, 2013 there’s going to be a massive fiscal cliff of large spending cuts and tax increases.” Those are simply the facts. Here’s a glimpse at the increases that are scheduled to kick in for the five different tax brackets according to U.S News:

The 10 percent bracket rises to 15 percent (the highest % increase)

The 25 percent bracket rises to 28 percent

The 28 percent bracket rises to 31 percent

The 33 percent bracket rises to 36 percent

The 35 percent bracket rises to 39.6 percent*

(* rate at which 2/3 of small businesses profits are taxed)

So, while the Obama Administration paints this tax increase as something that only affects the 1% - notice that it affects the lower and middle wage earners significantly more, with a 50% rise in taxation in the lowest tax bracket. Distracting the public with class warfare rhetoric or other smoke and mirror tactics to achieve re-election is disingenuous, selfish and lacks leadership and integrity. What would really help lower level wages earners is to have more and better available JOBS and a thriving economy. Remember this, according to the Congressional Budget Office the U6 number (the unemployment figure which includes people who have supposedly STOPPED looking for work) tells us actual unemployment was 14.8% in May. Under President Obama we have seen the largest actual unemployment numbers since the U6 figure was established in 1990 and unemployment at levels similar to the Great Depression. The economy needs confidence and stability; we are in the midst of a crisis of economic confidence and instability.

Some simple things to restore confidence now are to extend the “Bush” Tax Cuts, put in place an actual budget (which Congress has put off for over 3 years), cut government regulations which are stifling small business and focus on creating pro-business, job creation environment. Take the government’s foot off the neck of small business and help get that that U6 number down and get America back to work!.

Keep your eyes on the ball and don’t let this Obama dazzle us with his sleight of hand tricks and remember the countdown is on for January 1st, 2013.... TAXAPALOOZA!!

There’s No “O” In Team…..

“None of us is as smart as all of us.”  - Ken Blanchard

Anyone who has ever been a part of a team knows that success requires discipline. Success requires a clearly defined mission and absolute preparedness. Success requires sacrifice and exhaustion but more than any of those things, success requires trust. No matter what the endeavor, the success of a team requires that all the moving parts trust one another. In business this is true. A CEO will carefully select each and every member of his or her executive team. Each member will be selected based upon their specific skill set and what the CEO sees as a unified vision where the company itself is concerned. It doesn’t matter what color their skin may be, or what TV shows they like. It doesn’t matter what school they went to or where they grew up. All that matters is that they know their individual assignment. They have to know their role and understand how their role fits into the overall mission. In sports, it’s the same way. In order to win a football game, every man on that field must know his individual assignments and execute them flawlessly. Not only that, but they have to trust each other. They have to trust that the man next to them has worked just as hard as they have worked themselves. Take away that trust and the rhythm of the game is disrupted. Resentment toward the unprepared teammate festers and grows as the game progresses. Blame becomes apparent and eventually, the team walks quietly back into the locker room, heads hung low, shoulders slumped, and defeat emanating from their pores.

Nowhere is the inherent trust of a successful team more important than within the ranks of our United States military. Precision, attention to detail, and focus are the difference between life and death. Hesitation or doubt is significantly more dangerous than any enemy or weapon could ever hope to be. When the difference between success and failure is measured in microseconds, doubt often results in death. Soldiers follow orders because they trust the chain of command. They trust the man delivering the orders to them just as that man trusted the man who delivered them to him. The mission is never questioned. Orders are executed and assignments are clearly defined. This does not always insure victory but it sure as hell hasn’t led to defeat. What happens if our military starts to distrust the orders they are given? What happens if the orders themselves start to be questioned?

We’ve seen it a million times in sports. The aging quarterback we’ve followed for years, hangs on one season longer than he probably should have. Our last memory of a once noble warrior is a slow, weak knee-kneed, interception riddled performance in which he simply seemed to be out of his element. The game itself has simply passed him by. Perhaps it was the competition adjusting for his greatness over the years, but most of the time it’s just a stubborn need to compete that sends him out there despite doubt among those depending on his input. The backup quarterback waits patiently on the sidelines, just waiting for his chance. The newspaper and sports shows start running more and more stories about the backup quarterback until finally, a legend’s career ends with a towel over his head, sitting on the bench, listening to the roar of the crowd as they applaud the heroism of his younger, more effective replacement. Those players who truly value team over self will display one, last act of public heroism as they stand on the sidelines and cheer sincerely for the success of the team. For someone who is truly committed to the mission, victory is more important than personal glory. Strategy is more important than selfish agenda. Of course they would rather be out there on the field, but they would much rather see a victory celebration.

Barack Hussein Obama is not your teammate. Barack Obama is the quarterback who hasn’t completed a pass yet, hasn’t even gotten a grass stain on his crisp, gleaming, white jersey but he somehow has a multi-year contract and several big endorsements. Barack Obama is the quarterback who shows up late, refuses to participate in practice, and blames every mistake on someone else. Barack Obama is the quarterback that throws seven interceptions in the first half but as he runs off the field at halftime, tells a reporter “these receivers gotta get open and our defense has to stiffen up.” Well guess what, partner…..your defense (Republican led Congress) didn’t throw the ball (Taxpayer Money) to six different defensive backs (1. Solyndra 2. A123 Systems 3. Chevy Volt 4. Ener1 5. ObamaCare 6. Unions) for 42 points ($5 TRILLION in debt).

The United States of America is a team. When you are part of a team, your concern is not with the opinions and off-the-field decisions of your teammates. What matters is that when they show up to play, they are one hundred ten percent focused on the mission at hand and the execution of their own specific responsibilities. His Barackness is committed to one mission and one mission only. That is the mission of the liberal agenda. He will sacrifice each and every one of you if that is what it takes to see his vision come to fruition. The victory celebration he sees in his mind will be just as grand whether you’re there or not. His vision is very different. Whereas America the team pursues victory for itself, Obama only sees victory as the possession of those who follow him. He’s charming. He’s eloquent. He has actually managed to convince several (millions) of our teammates (fellow citizens) that victory can be achieved without effort or sacrifice. At least not ‘their” sacrifice. He’s managed to convince several of our teammates that victory can be obtained without strength. His Barackness believes himself to be bigger than the mission of the team. In fact, His Barackness believes that he should be the mission of the team. He believes that the team needs him more than he needs the team and he has clearly shown that opinion at every opportunity. His mission is to perpetuate his own image and his own success. If America won’t deliver it to him, he’ll accept it from another source, but he will be granted the world he believes is owed to him.

It’s time to bench this showboating diva before he ends our season in training camp. I’m not ready to say that America is in her fourth quarter, staring down the barrel of playoff elimination. No. I believe America is just getting warmed up. Barack Obama will not be our starting quarterback as we head into the regular season. Barack Obama will be traded to another team and our new quarterback will be more focused on the success of the team than his own advancement. Our next quarterback already has the lucrative contract and the successful track record. He’s not flashy. He’s not going to get a lot of quotes pasted up on the chalkboards of other team’s defensive locker rooms. He’s quiet and sometimes shy, but when it comes time to fire the ball, he never hesitates. That’s what this team needs right now.

Re-electing Barack Hussein Obama would be the equivalent of letting Jerry Jones (Owner of the Dallas Cowboys) manages the Philadelphia Eagles’ Draft Day decisions. Sure, Jerry is smooth enough to make us all believe that his actions would be fair and in the best interest of the entire Eagles organization but his picks would surely benefit the Cowboys more than the Eagles. Each and every one of Obama’s “picks” have benefited himself, his friends, his supporters, or his ideology. Each and every one of Barack’s “picks” have served to further illustrate the fact that America is his opponent in so many ways. The trade deadline is rapidly approaching, folks. Make the deal before we suffer through another horrendously heartbreaking season.

As always, thanks for playing!

God Bless Texas…..

“You may all go to hell. I will go to Texas.” - Davy Crockett

This week sure has made me proud to be a Texan. While I don’t currently live in Texas, the sentiment is the same as the sentiment felt by Marines. Once a Marine, always a Marine…..well that goes double for Texans. For those of us fortunate enough to have been born and raised in the Lone Star State, pride in our roots comes as naturally as our unshakeable accent. This week, like I said, has made me particularly proud. It’s not like Michelle Obama’s pride in America that she felt for the first time when her morally bankrupt husband took over the country. It’s not the kind of pride felt when your favorite sports team wins a championship. Those particular brands of pride dissipate quickly. The pride that comes from a birth within the borders of Texas is different. It’s the kind of pride that used to be felt as an American before the liberals made it fashionable to be too cool for patriotism.

When Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) told Attorney General Eric Holder to “resign” earlier this week, I literally clapped out loud at my television. That’s the kind of language we need out of our leaders. “Our” leaders, as in “those men and women willing to set aside political habit for the good of the country.” Those men and women who are of a strong enough character to look beyond political need in pursuit of American greatness. Eric Holder’s tenure as the Attorney General of the United States of America has served one purpose and one purpose only…..clear the road of any pesky legal obstacles His Barackness may encounter along his divine ascension. Eric Holder’s allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America has been tenuous at best. Holder has never once, in any situation, chosen the path of virtue when a path of self-preservation was an available alternative. Eric Holder has taken the position that will endear his audience to the mission of his supreme leader over that which will extend the life of America at every opportunity. Brian Terry’s family mourns the loss of their son and the one man that should have apologized first and loudest has yet to do so. Even if he were to utter an apology at this point, the motives would be suspect to say the least. Eric Holder is a sleazebag. He’s the scrambling understudy of the master magician whose curtain call will most assuredly be even more dramatic than the one we all hope will usher Mr. Holder back into this “doing just fine” private sector. Senator Cornyn did what any Texan would do when confronted with a wimpy little man in a suit hiding behind wimpy little laws and semantics designed to protect wimpy little men…..he knocked him on his ass. The Constitution of the United States should be the only thing Attorney General cares about. He should transcend the political opinions of his boss but instead he accepts them as heavenly scripture. He fights against the very philosophies and traditions that made this country great and he does so by ignoring, twisting, or blatantly misrepresenting aspects of a system designed to do none of those things. We applaud you Senator Cornyn. (And you too Congressman Issa, you just don’t fit into the whole Texas theme I have going here.)

It’s often been said that Texas is like a “whole ‘nother country.” Aside from the fact that it once was exactly that, it truly is like a country all of its own. Manhattan is known for its enormous buildings and big city feel but do you think any of those absurdly loud New Yorkers know that DFW International Airport is bigger than the entire island of Manahattan? During the whole “Bush Bash” that has been the Obama Administration, it has somehow become acceptable to dismiss Texans as unnecessary, redneck, illiterate, country, extremist, homophobic, religious zealots who couldn’t possibly know anything about American politics. Texans are just too dumb to understand the brilliance of a worldly scholar such as the man from Kenyagolulu scolding us from the campaign trail. We’re just armadillo chasing hillbillies in Texas, right? All we know is cow manure and greedy oil tycoons, right? Wrong. Texas demands common sense of a man. There’s something about living in Texas that literally targets the stupidity so readily accepted in other parts of the country. There’s a logical charm to the overall way of thinking that seems almost too simple for over-complicated attorney generals full of over-complicated, under-substantiated ideology to comprehend. It’s not taught in Texas schools but rather in the school yards. Manners are accepted and encouraged. “Yes ma’am” and “Yes sir” are not only appropriate but expected responses because that’s how polite people treat each other. It doesn’t matter what your political, religious, or sexual orientation may be; that stuff is up to you and you alone. What matters is that you respect my rights with courteous professionalism and I’ll respect yours in kind. It’s a simple way of life that many interpret as stupidity, weakness, or disinterest. It’s none of those things. It’s not a weakness at all. It’s actually the founding principle of a system that Eric Holder should be willing to die to defend…..innocent until proven guilty.

See, Texans have the unmitigated gall to believe that a person with whom they have no prior relationship is not an enemy or potential threat. They are so naïve that they actually believe a stranger is just that until such time as that stranger’s exercise of his or her rights infringe upon someone else’s freedom to those same rights. Until that time, that stranger is innocent and should be treated with the same respect afforded to ‘innocent’ people anywhere else in the world. Texans get out of the way in narrow grocery store aisles. We hold doors open for women and in Texas, the women say “thank you.” (It’s true, Saint Louis…..it’s actually true!) It’s not because we’re sexual predators. It’s not because we’re flirting. It’s not because we think you’re a weaker sex. It’s because that’s how our fathers raised us.

Occasionally, a story comes along where the entire country says “man I’m glad that happened in Texas!” If the Alamo was in Montana and it had been Canadians instead of Mexicans attacking, do you think there would be nearly the interest in the story? If Jerry Jones was a New York real estate mogul, would he be nearly as intriguing a figure? If the TV show Dallas had been called Boise would it have had the same appeal? Well, this past week has provided yet another of those stories where Texas provided a backdrop of justice found uniquely within her borders.

In the southern part of the state, in land that would seem like a distant planet to a New Yorker, a man was beaten to death over the weekend. He was beaten to death with the bare hands of another man. The man with the deadly fists was provoked by the sight of his four year old daughter being molested by the now deceased “victim.” There was a time, not very long ago when this would not have even made the news. The family of the true victim, the little girl; would have buried the body in a shallow pit in the back forty and gone on with their day. No fuss. No lawyers. People seem baffled that the father of the little girl is not being arrested. Even though he did what was right by protecting his daughter, people still seem concerned with the rights of the man who was attempting to fondle away her innocence. That’s where being raised Texan provides the logic the rest of the country is having trouble putting into words. That man, the scumbag who lost life; he lost his “rights” the instant he touched that little girl with thoughts of harm in his mind. His rights do not have the right to impede her rights. Her right to live a life free of attack from sexual deviants far exceeds any right the deviant had, has, or ever will have. Period. Indicting this man, regardless of the letter of the law, would serve no purpose. No father should have to consider the ramifications of protecting his child. Common sense has to step in and overrule a misinterpretation of our legal system that would afford any rights to a man attacking a child. Had he lived, then yes, he would have been afforded a fair trial. He didn’t live. He was punched in the head and he died. As far as Texas authorities are concerned, that seems to be the end of the story. As it should be. There’s no racial angle here, liberals. Leave it alone.

In his lesser known book Travels With Charlie: In Search of America; John Steinbeck wrote “Texas has a tight cohesiveness perhaps stronger than any other section of America. Rich, poor, Panhandle, Gulf, city, country, Texas is the obsession, the proper study, and the passionate possession of all Texans.” It’s true. I feel lucky to call myself a Texan. No matter where I am, I will still hold the door open despite the absence of acknowledgement because the acknowledgement is not the point.

Your Open Mind Has Allowed Your Brain To Escape…..

By: J Robert Giles

“Be polite to all but intimate with few.”   - Thomas Jefferson

Many times as children we are told to “keep an open mind” about certain things. Sometimes we get burned by our own youthful trust in the world around us. I trusted my mother when she told me to keep an open mind about Zucchini Casserole and it darn near landed me in the ICU with spastic colon, irritable bowels, a swollen tongue, and a delusional distrust of anything served in a casserole dish. (That may be a slight exaggeration but suffice it to say, the dish is not on my “Like Mom Used to Make” list of favorite foods!) My youngest daughter and my beautiful bride, Jackie share a sometimes consuming need to know exactly what is coming around the corner. Part of it is their unshakeable belief that the rest of the world is simply not capable of operating at their own level of efficiency, diligence, or intelligence. As I am perfect in almost every single way, I allow this little game to continue until they collide at a point where they both know what’s best, yet their opinions are opposite. It is very hard for either of them to see beyond their own ideas of how things should run. Having never suffered at the hands of such an affliction myself I find it hard to relate when they get to that frenzied level of assertiveness. It’s like an emotional dog-fight. Two Pit Bulls, in full body armor, driving emotional tanks at one another until one opinion wins and the opposition lies soaking in their own tears. Again, I may be viewing them through slightly exaggerated lenses and I’m sure they will inform me of such as soon as they have the opportunity, but the point is that we often get too caught up in our own ideas to see what’s right in front of us. We have to get that “last word” or the fight wasn’t worth fighting.

We’ve all had that relationship with that annoying couple who can’t stop themselves from reminding you how perfect their marriage is. You know the ones that stare into each other’s eyes as if they’re the only people in the restaurant? They talk down to others as if no other relationship on earth could possibly be as special, connected, or righteous as their own. It’s a sad part of human nature that these are the same people we are all internally giddy to see going through a humiliating divorce. It’s the same part of human nature that makes us tune into anything that might result in the on-air overdose of Charlie Sheen. It’s the same aspect of human nature that keeps admitting Terrell Owens into locker rooms around the various football leagues in North America. It’s one of those “on-paper” decisions. T.O. looks good on paper, and even if he destroys the cohesive fabric of the team, he’s sure to bring some publicity and interest. This is the world our media has created for us. Disaster brings higher ratings than relief. Infidelity is more interesting than the sanctity of marriage. Ideology is easier to sell than reality. And that, right there ladies and gentlemen, is the problem with our political system.

For three and a half years, we have been suffering under the results of a false reality. We’ve been told to look the other way while more and more mistakes are made and blamed on someone else. We bought into the ideology without considering the reality of that purchase. When I say “we,” I am of course just being nice to all of those poor, misguided souls who voted for Obama back in 2008 simply because of the mob-pleasing, attention getting, media friendly hope and change he promised. We’ve ignored the reality that this administration has left in its wake. Is it because we are weak? Is it because we are too tired to fight? Is it because we haven’t come up with a plan of our own yet or is it because we are simply being defeated? Whatever the case may be, the truth is that we have gotten so locked into one way of thinking that it has taken a slap to our collective faces to jar us from the trance. His Barackness being the aforementioned “slap” of course. Again, using the collaborative “we” as a courtesy to those willing to atone for their 2008 mistake; WE became so enamored of what Obama told us he could deliver that we never took the time to consider the possibility of failure. He spoke so passionately. He described this green energy powered utopia in such optimistic language. It was as if he had literally been there already. His blame of Bush made sense to a lot of people who had abandoned what we were warned would be a “long and difficult” road. Okay, you know what…..you people handed over the reins of your country to a mad-man. There’s absolutely no reason why I should extend you any more courtesies.

America is not as strong today as it was when Obama took office. That is an undeniable, iron-clad fact. His assertion that Republicans “ordered a big steak dinner” and then stuck him with “the tab” is just wimpy. It sounds like another charming excuse from the man who has mastered the craft. It does not sound like the dignified leader of the greatest country on earth. We’ve become enamored of the man who holds the office rather than the office. The President of the United States of America deserves better than the scuffing given to its name by the current title holder. That office is supposed to be held by a man with undying, unshakeable patriotism running through his veins. George Washington, with his rich, courageous, military background would shudder at the sight of the office he built. Thomas Jefferson would weep. Abraham Lincoln would stoically mourn at the state of disrepair plaguing the office he so proudly held. Ronald Reagan would bow his head and pray. We have allowed ourselves to trade “what was” for “what if.”

In his book The Five Laws of Liberty, Scott Hyland tells us to 1) Remember the Past 2) Embrace the Truth 3) Respect Humanity 4) Exercise Self-Control (Restraint) and 5) Protect and Serve Others. These were founding principles of our country. They were definitely characteristics of the men listed above, but what about the leaders in office today? What past do they remember? Is it the real one or is it the one they’ve created to justify their actions? What truth have they embraced? The only answer should be that the United States government is not bigger than the people it represents but can anyone honestly say that they believe this is how Obama sees his role in our lives? Does this administration show respect for humanity? The man’s got a “Kill List” for heaven’s sake! They show tremendous respect for those willing to vote for them in return. They respect convicted murderers more than they respect unborn babies. They respect celebrity over morality. They respect obedience over innovation. Do we even need to address the restraint issue? Has any liberal President ever shown restraint or self-control? If JFK worked in your office, he’d be that creepy guy who claims to have slept with every woman in the office. If Bill Clinton lived in the same world you do, he’d be in prison for some sort of sexual deviance by now. Do they protect and serve others? Ask Governor Perry of Texas just how much relief His Barackness granted the people affected by Tropical Storm Hermine. Ask the people who would have been given “meaningful” work with the approval of Keystone XL if they feel that Obama is looking out for their best interests or only his own.

We’ve lost sight of what the office of the President of the United States is supposed to be. It is NOT celebrity endorsements and fancy dinners. I find it insulting that Obama would dare to insinuate that Republicans ordered a “big steak dinner” on his tab while he is jetting around the country at a rate of about $180,000 (Taxpayer provided) per hour collecting $10,000 a plate dinner fees which go directly to his campaign. $40,000 to attend an evening with His Barackness at the home of George Clooney. Just because Obama felt that we shouldn’t have gone after those who attacked us on 9/11 does not mean that Bush was simply “racking up a tab” with the ensuing war. Obama acts as if he’s the first President to be handed some expenses when he takes over. His handling of those responsibilities has been abhorrent and simply cannot be blamed on his predecessor. He promised us success despite the requirements of such a promise. Enough is enough.

Would you rather we have a cool President to present to the rest of the world, or a strong country? Personally, I could care less how cool Mitt Romney looks when he’s delivering speeches. I could not possibly care less how many celebrities like him. Those are the things that we have been led to believe are important. We have placed importance on those things and as a result, our country is failing. It’s failing and it’s time to stop pretending the problem will go away if we act like it’s not there. It is there. Your kid’s on drugs. Your daughter’s sexually active. That mole is getting bigger. You don’t have any more money to spend. Those things you would address no matter how uncomfortable it made you feel so why is it so easy to get us to look the other way when our country is being stolen from us? This problem will only go away if we roll up our sleeves and clean up the mess. If we view Romney through the same lenses prescribed to us by the Obama administration, we’re doomed. Celebrity is not nearly as important as truth. Ideology is not nearly as important as morality or common sense. View the world through those lenses for a while, would ya?

As always, thanks for playing!

Comedy of Errors…..

“The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools.”

- Herbert Spencer

Flag

Ladies and gentlemen, we’re being shielded. Our elected leaders do not believe we are capable of understanding their “folly” as Mr. Spencer so eloquently alluded in the quote above. I don’t know of anyone that would go on the record as believing every word given them by the United States government. Somewhere along the way, our government became less and less about defending the country it was elected to protect and more and more about competing streams of ideology. The words we do receive from our government are filtered by the news source from which we choose to suckle. Our perception of the world around us is literally forged by the minds of directors and producers; editors and anchors; columnists and bloggers; politicians and advisors. Lately, to my sincere delight, it’s been the liberals or “progressives” as they prefer to be called suffering catastrophic injuries at the hands of their own actions. Hey, morons….giving yourself a positive sounding moniker doesn’t change the fact that your whole way of thinking is simply disastrous. You can be as “progressive” as you want but if you’re progressing toward doom at a greater rate than your opponent, perhaps bragging isn’t the best course of action. The structural damage sustained by the liberal party in last week’s Wisconsin Recall slap-fest has not been fully absorbed yet because, as usual, we’re being shielded. We are shielded by the very people on whom we rely so heavily for our opinions.

It’s actually quite comical…..or at least it would be if the stakes weren’t so high. The liberals used to have such a commanding ownership of the political landscape in this country. It’s the same kind of guilt we all felt in 2000, as the tech bubble burst and the reality of Clinton’s presidency started to come to light. All those things for which Clinton so gleefully took credit were the very things from which he and Ben Franklin…..I mean…..Hillary couldn’t distance themselves fast enough once the pillars of their bragging rights started crumbling around them. Sadly, despite our own conservative backbones telling us to prepare for the end of the stock market earnings frenzy, we all got a little greedy. Seriously though….what’s with Hillary’s appearance lately? Nobody has offered an explanation as to why she suddenly looks like a slightly melted wax sculpture of Christopher Walken. I’m waiting, patriots!

This race is far from over, but it sure does a conservative heart good to see Obama and his loyal minions stumbling as often as they have lately. In no way should the fact that Romney hasn’t had to throw a punch yet be interpreted as an unobstructed path to November victory, but it really does make it so much more entertaining to watch. There seems to be a sense that Obama and his ideas, excuses, and inherent failures are all on their way out but they just don’t know it yet. Conservatives watch with gleeful pride as those we have long suspected of being the mental equivalent of drug-mules collapse under the weight of their own lunatic perversions. Since we, as a conservative pool of thought, are not bound by the need for mob frenzy like those on the left, we keep our excitement and cheer to ourselves. We keep our hope and certainty of the future beyond November tucked carefully within the forefront of our minds. We’ve learned the lessons of our own unjustifiable and excessive confidence, arrogance, and illogical grasp of the world around us. They were painful, indelible lessons that left scars in the history of this great country, and they were our fault. The advantage we have in this go-round is the fact that we are actually capable of learning lessons from our own mistakes. We are capable of recognizing our own mistakes. Liberals are not so lucky in that regard. Barack Hussein Obama, the benign sovereign, continues to shoot himself in the foot with such frequency that it’s often hard to keep up. Not once has he taken the time to sit back, admit fault, and ask for forgiveness. He dares to insult us with accusations that we’ve “lost our imagination” as a country, but he has never once found fault with his own logic. Just this week, his feet have suffered heavy fire from the barrels of his own weaponry in the following stories.

On Saturday afternoon in the peaceful town of San Gabriel, California which is located to the northeast of Los Angeles, United States Commerce Secretary John Brsyon believed he had been given the keys to the United States economy and drove it like Obama himself had been his driver’s education instructor. Sadly, it was not a metaphorical vehicle that Secretary Bryson was driving. It was a Lexus and he managed to cause multiple accidents. He even managed to strike one car TWICE, but nary a mention in the mainstream media. To be fair, details are still emerging and no mention of drugs or alcohol have been made as of yet but can anyone look me in the eye and honestly tell me that the facts would get in the way of over-reporting this story if Mr. Bryson was one of ours? If he wasn’t the man Obama had referred to as the “voice of the business community” within his cabinet, is there any doubt that investigation of this case would be a mere formality as guilt would have been assigned before the cracks in his windshield finished spreading. It’s felony hit-and-run people. Are we just sweeping that one under the rug these days?

Good old Nancy Pelosi, the “Old Faithful” of stupidity, stated this week that ObamaCare is an American “right” not a privilege. According to our very own House Minority Leader, our United States Constitution guarantees free healthcare to those who make less than CEO level income. Seriously, anyone who believes Nancy Pelosi is a sane person should be locked away immediately. They are danger to themselves and others. NOWHERE does our Constitution mention healthcare. What it DOES mention is the freedom to practice religion. How does that stack up against the contraception mandate Ms. Tammy-Faye-Meets-The-Joker? The Bill of Rights also states very clearly that the federal government does NOT have the right to take a citizen’s property for public use without providing just compensation. It also provides such agenda crushing language as “the powers not designated to the United States by its Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people.” That doesn’t sound like it’s giving the government the right to take money from those making more than 400% of the federal poverty level in order to provide free healthcare to those who make less. Does it? Time to reload, Mr. President. You seem to have a toe remaining!

We’ll save the reports by the Gallup Organization showing that 1/3 of Union members support Mitt Romney in the 2012 Presidential Election. We’ll set aside the fact that our very own US Department of Housing and Urban Development recently announced plans to spend 70 MILLION of our dollars to teach people how to spend the BILLIONS of our dollars they already have. We’ll get back to those in future articles but for now we must give some of our time to the latest and greatest from the Supreme Campaigner himself. Have you ever heard anything as ridiculous as “the private sector is doing fine?” Does this man not realize his words will be scrutinized? Does he know that he has not yet been re-elected and that every time he or one of his idiot supporters open their mouths, the likelihood of such an event occurring are greatly diminished? The President of your United States of America declares an end to the suffering among non-cushy-government-job types. Despite numbers and data that show exactly the opposite to be true, Obama insults us all with more nonsense about success and prosperity that simply doesn’t exist. Then, to make matters even worse, Obama sends out David Axelrod to clean up his mess. That’s right, America. Since Obama himself is far too busy and important to explain our lack of understanding where his brilliance is concerned, and Biden’s an idiot…..we get his Campaign Chairman! We’re not even worthy of an “official” explanation from the Administration? We get a campaign commercial instead? One that doesn’t even answer our questions and instead calls us “stupid” through a crumb littered mustache? That’s all the respect His Barackness has for us? Again, if the stakes weren’t so high, this would be great comedy.

As always, thanks for playing!

A Noble Idea Gone Liberal…..

“Collective bargaining is the power that a worker has against the corporation. Right wingers hate that.”   - Janeane Garofalo

November

Once again, the lovely Ms Garofalo is as delusional as those who find her attractive. In their original design, Labor Unions were a noble idea. They were formed so that workers were not met with hazardous working conditions, exploitative labor practices that would be considered slavery in today’s world, share cropping, and the use of child labor. These are all things that the business world needed to be rid of. Nobody, regardless of political party affiliation, would argue against the abolishment of workplace abuse. The sleaziest guy you know would not vote to make sexual harassment a legal and encouraged part of workplace behavior any sooner than the meanest boss you’ve ever had would publicly endorse the horrors of slavery. Those were the people unions were originally designed to remove from the workforce. In their original design, unions gave the “little guy” a voice against the oppressive business owners who cared nothing about worker and everything about productivity. Well, guess what…..those people are gone and it has just as much to do with the evolution of business strategy as it does to do with union influence. Business owners value employee retention more in today’s workplace than ever before and that has helped to improve conditions in workplaces more than any union rule ever will. Office morale is a marketable amenity when hiring new talent. Unions had nothing to do with that revelation. You don’t keep good employees by abusing them into submission. Ironically, unions and their excessive regulations abuse business owners into keeping bad employees all the time.

Today’s labor unions are the most hell-bent special interest groups in all of American politics. They create victims, they breed dependency, and they provide more political influence than should have ever been allowed. They indoctrinate our children and they leave in their wake a path of destruction more gruesome than Nancy Pelosi without make-up…..in a bikini. Unions have delivered weakness to what should be some of the strongest pillars of America. It’s time to strip away their destructive presence and let the healing begin.

His Barackness and the rest of the “Free-Range Garofalos” out there need to dial back the potency of their medicinal marijuana if they believe unions saved the American Automotive Industry. If anything, unions were the disease that spread within the industry and brought it to its collective, bailout requiring, knees. Obama was just the Band-Aid that came along and stopped the bleeding. He didn’t cure, but he stopped the bleeding. That’s like a doctor putting bandages over a stab-wound, but leaving the knife in the victim and claiming he saved the man’s life. General Motors and Chrysler didn’t just wake up one day and realize that they had lost their imagination. Remember, that’s what Obama said in October of 2011? He said at a fundraiser (shocker) that Americans had “lost their imagination.” No, GM and Chrysler required federal assistance because unions had bled them dry. Enormous union pensions sucked up all the money but like a good thug, the unions demanded more. Even though their own rules prevented efficient and productive use of available labor, unions demanded more money that simply wasn’t there. Governor Walker of Wisconsin handed such ideology a crushing defeat on Tuesday, but even more fascinating than his enormous margin of victory is the fact that of the voters who cast their ballots for Governor Walker, 38% of them were from union households according to Edison Research. That should be a big eye opener to union leaders but I have no reason to believe such a revelation will complete its journey to reality. Where unions were once the liberator they have now become the brutal dictator.

America doesn’t want to be the victim. Unions demand loyalty just as liberalism demands loyalty. It’s no coincidence that the two find themselves in bed together so often. Unions lead their members to believe that prosperity, future, and health all depend exclusively upon continued loyalty to the union and all union causes. They work very hard to create a sense of “don’t try to understand dirty, old confusing politics on your own; that’s what you pay us for!” Just like entitlement programs, unions provide forced loyalty but eyes are beginning to open to that racket as well. People are beginning to realize that the voice they thought they were funding with their dues is not the voice they want to use. Members are starting to realize that they have been funding the addiction and they are now starting to cut off the unions from their supply. Just like an addict, the unions are starting to writhe and wiggle as they desperately search for that next fix. They lost Wisconsin but they have moved on quickly acting as if the loss was part of their plan all along.

Unions have infected our education system. Today’s NEA does not in any way reflect the idea of the teacher’s union that was founded in 1857 to give teachers a united and national voice. That union became the National Education Association in 1870. Its mission was a noble one. They aimed to provide the most up-to-date, uniform education to American youth as was available to them. By 1957, there were over 700,000 paying union members and corruption began to raise its ugly head. Today, the NEA uses membership dues to provide political influence. They use membership dues to intimidate and to defend the most horrific of teachers while discouraging and in some cases prosecuting passionate, non-tenured teachers who dared to connect with our kids in a non-sanctioned manner. Unions were not meant to be a political weapon.

The relationship between democrat and union is easy to understand when one realizes that democrats have turned your government into one, giant, union. Government unions, especially at the local level, are literally sucking the life out of this country. They create huge government programs requiring huge numbers of government, taxpayer funded jobs. They offer insane pay packages and unbeatable benefits in exchange for union support. In effect, many low-level government employees sell their soul for a government pay package and the ability to do minimal work for maximum benefit.

The whole idea of democracy and in essence, the United States of America, is that rule is provided “by the people.” If unions can influence the political landscape in a manner to which its dues paying membership may object, are those members still free? Are they truly receiving the full benefits of democracy if their vote is given against their consent? America cannot succeed until the crippling effects of union involvement are erased for good. There’s an enormous difference between sticking up for the “little guy” and telling the “little guy” that he’s too stupid to participate in America’s most precious process on his own. Unions are free to protect the worker to the extent that commerce is not hindered. They are free to protect the worker to the extent that their influence in politics is not greater than the voice of their membership. Sadly, that is exactly where we stand as a country today but on Tuesday night, Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor Kleefisch landed the first of what I hope will be many, many devastating blows to the mentality of dependency in this country’s workforce. You don’t need a union, you need a country! Get it straight or get out.

As always, thanks for playing!

Their Playbook Is Outdated…..

By: J Robert Giles

“In a country well governed, poverty is something to be ashamed of. In a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of.”  - Confucius

Praise seems to be so easily earned these days. Actually, that’s not true. Praise is seldom earned. ‘Praise is so easily stolen, bought, or extorted these days’ would be a more accurate way to state it. Even more troubling than the manner in which the praise is obtained is the characteristics, values, or actions that receive the praise. Poverty is cool in our society as long as it makes you tough. Wealth is frowned upon unless it was obtained by questionable means. Confucius would be quite perplexed.

There for a while, it seemed that there was a severe panty-drought among Hollywood’s starlets. It was as if public display of lady-parts was a prerequisite for admission into the A-list. Then came the sex-tape. The poor, manipulated victim who knew nothing about the camera or the tape until her ex releases it into the internet. Through it all there has been one common variable and that has been celebrity. The lifestyle, wealth, and publicity that comes with celebrity seems to be more ardently pursued than all moral virtues combined. We’re obsessed with which celebrity is sleeping with which celebrity. Entire sections of magazines are dedicated to paparazzi photos of celebrities in compromising positions. The latest trend seems to be the “leaked” cell-phone photo. Yet these are the people our kids praise.

In a recent study by Forbes Magazine, it was revealed that only two of the Top Twenty Highest Paid Actors and Actresses have graduated from college. Those who did NOT graduate include George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Ben Stiller, Sean Combs, and Tom Hanks. I don’t think many of you would be surprised to hear that Kid Rock, Lil’ Wayne, and 50 Cent never received collegiate diplomas either. I’m not saying that they should be required to give back any of their money, but I am asking why these people are viewed as deserving of their wealth, but Mitt Romney somehow isn’t? Why? Can anyone explain that? If anyone can honestly convince me that Kim Kardashian is worthy of $100,000 per domestic appearance, and as much as $1,000,000 for an international one, I would love to hear it. I’m not suggesting that a college degree is absolutely mandatory for success, but anyone who thinks they will one day live like a Kardashian because they too have an enormous butt is probably not living in an overly logical world. There can be no more perfect example of this truth than the audition phase of any talent show like American Idol where contestants with absolutely no talent whatsoever threaten everything from future regret to physical violence against judges who dare to ignore their ‘gifts.’ Everyone believes they are deserving of fame. What’s even more enraging is the fact that everyone believes they are MORE deserving of fame than everyone else. And still, these are the people our kids admire.

The most infuriating part of this celebrity infatuation is the fact that Obama has so skillfully tapped into it in a way that has benefited him and his twisted ideology for almost a decade. Literally. Obama used records from another man’s divorce to win his senate seat. Obama released sordid details of sexual exploits between Jack Ryan and his wife, actress Jeri Ryan that had come up in the course of their divorce. In no way should Jack Ryan’s sexual exploits with his wife have gotten him removed from the Illinois ballots, but Obama’s skillful portrayal of deviance did just that. Again, that’s not to say that Jack and Jeri Ryan didn’t have one twisted marriage, but it was a consensual one and the records should not have been made available to Obama. Why were those stories and allegations so easily endorsed and publicized by the media but the story of all three homosexual men in Obama’s church turning up executed just before the rise of Barackness raises nary an eyebrow? Why is that? When we dare to suggest some kind of coordinated effort, we are labeled as “tin-foil-hat-brigades” or “birthers” or “conspiracy kooks.” Why? Why does that story deserve so little credit? Three men were shot in the back of their heads. Three men with known ties to Barack Obama who many assumed were his “down-low” lovers. If these circumstances surrounded Mitt Romney I believe CNN would have to start a new station devoted entirely to the vetting of all pertinent facts. As it stands, no such action or interest is taking place. Why is it that the detailed descriptions of the intensely sexual relationship Larry Sinclair had with Obama in 1999 are dismissed as silly, but Mitt Romney hazing a kid so viciously that it caused his eventual suicide is accepted as unquestioned fact? Three men died who supposedly had sexual relations with our president, yet no one believes a connection can be made. Even the kid Romney hazed didn’t point to the incident as reason for his suicide yet the story was heavily reported. These arrows that the left keeps trying to shoot at Romney are not piercing the way they intend because Romney is not made from the same immoral fabric as they are. The portrayal of greed and immorality with which they keep attempting to present us is simply not landing. And now comes word that Obama and his minions may be considering another stimulus package? Seriously, just a day or two after insinuating that the stagnant economy, er….the plummeting economy is the fault of the GOP. Two years of a democrat controlled Congress with no budget, two years of a Republican controlled Congress and the democrats in the Senate have shot down any budget proposal. They now want more of our money but they refuse to tell us how it’s being spent. Attention liberals, the commanders in your ideology are stealing everything you own and you are praising them for it. Grow a spine or get the heck out of my country. End of story.

When will enough be enough? When will we stop overlooking the very things Obama has blatantly admitted in books, memoirs, and interviews so that we can use similar ammunition against Romney? Obama has flat out admitted to drug-use, bullying, and delusional thought, yet all attention has been carefully diverted from the inherent story. The man admitted to eating a dog. I mean…..you just don’t eat dog and then run the United States of America. That is NOT how they drew it up! Mitt Romney will be the next President of The United States because he actually cares about the United States. Not once, in any of his memoirs and other written nonsense has Barack Hussein Obama mentioned love of country. How can a man who has never displayed patriotism be expected to lead those who would die to do so? Mitt Romney may not have served in the military. He may not have been the best governor in the history of Massachusetts, but he did manage to work with one of the most liberal state congresses ever assembled. Throughout his life, Mitt Romney has delivered success wherever he has worked. He’s got a drive within him that Obama and his excuses simply can’t fathom. His impact on our country can’t come soon enough!

By the way, among the two celebrities on the list with a college degree…..big time republican contributor Adam Sandler. He might make ridiculously silly movies, but the guy’s not an idiot! That’s right folks, Happy Gilmore is more intelligent than Danny Ocean, Troy, Will Hunting, Gaylord Fokker, Forrest Gump, and The Material Girl. Try to contain your surprise! What? Obama always brags about his degrees yet his most ardent celebrity supporters don’t have any. Romney received simultaneous degrees in law and business from Harvard and his grades are public. It’s worthy of mention.

As always, thanks for playing!
