Their Playbook Is Outdated…..

“In a country well governed, poverty is something to be ashamed of. In a country badly governed, wealth is something to be ashamed of.”  - Confucius

Praise seems to be so easily earned these days. Actually, that’s not true. Praise is seldom earned. ‘Praise is so easily stolen, bought, or extorted these days’ would be a more accurate way to state it. Even more troubling than the manner in which the praise is obtained is the characteristics, values, or actions that receive the praise. Poverty is cool in our society as long as it makes you tough. Wealth is frowned upon unless it was obtained by questionable means. Confucius would be quite perplexed.

There for a while, it seemed that there was a severe panty-drought among Hollywood’s starlets. It was as if public display of lady-parts was a prerequisite for admission into the A-list. Then came the sex-tape. The poor, manipulated victim who knew nothing about the camera or the tape until her ex releases it into the internet. Through it all there has been one common variable and that has been celebrity. The lifestyle, wealth, and publicity that comes with celebrity seems to be more ardently pursued than all moral virtues combined. We’re obsessed with which celebrity is sleeping with which celebrity. Entire sections of magazines are dedicated to paparazzi photos of celebrities in compromising positions. The latest trend seems to be the “leaked” cell-phone photo. Yet these are the people our kids praise.

In a recent study by Forbes Magazine, it was revealed that only two of the Top Twenty Highest Paid Actors and Actresses have graduated from college. Those who did NOT graduate include George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Ben Stiller, Sean Combs, and Tom Hanks. I don’t think many of you would be surprised to hear that Kid Rock, Lil’ Wayne, and 50 Cent never received collegiate diplomas either. I’m not saying that they should be required to give back any of their money, but I am asking why these people are viewed as deserving of their wealth, but Mitt Romney somehow isn’t? Why? Can anyone explain that? If anyone can honestly convince me that Kim Kardashian is worthy of $100,000 per domestic appearance, and as much as $1,000,000 for an international one, I would love to hear it. I’m not suggesting that a college degree is absolutely mandatory for success, but anyone who thinks they will one day live like a Kardashian because they too have an enormous butt is probably not living in an overly logical world. There can be no more perfect example of this truth than the audition phase of any talent show like American Idol where contestants with absolutely no talent whatsoever threaten everything from future regret to physical violence against judges who dare to ignore their ‘gifts.’ Everyone believes they are deserving of fame. What’s even more enraging is the fact that everyone believes they are MORE deserving of fame than everyone else. And still, these are the people our kids admire.

The most infuriating part of this celebrity infatuation is the fact that Obama has so skillfully tapped into it in a way that has benefited him and his twisted ideology for almost a decade. Literally. Obama used records from another man’s divorce to win his senate seat. Obama released sordid details of sexual exploits between Jack Ryan and his wife, actress Jeri Ryan that had come up in the course of their divorce. In no way should Jack Ryan’s sexual exploits with his wife have gotten him removed from the Illinois ballots, but Obama’s skillful portrayal of deviance did just that. Again, that’s not to say that Jack and Jeri Ryan didn’t have one twisted marriage, but it was a consensual one and the records should not have been made available to Obama. Why were those stories and allegations so easily endorsed and publicized by the media but the story of all three homosexual men in Obama’s church turning up executed just before the rise of Barackness raises nary an eyebrow? Why is that? When we dare to suggest some kind of coordinated effort, we are labeled as “tin-foil-hat-brigades” or “birthers” or “conspiracy kooks.” Why? Why does that story deserve so little credit? Three men were shot in the back of their heads. Three men with known ties to Barack Obama who many assumed were his “down-low” lovers. If these circumstances surrounded Mitt Romney I believe CNN would have to start a new station devoted entirely to the vetting of all pertinent facts. As it stands, no such action or interest is taking place. Why is it that the detailed descriptions of the intensely sexual relationship Larry Sinclair had with Obama in 1999 are dismissed as silly, but Mitt Romney hazing a kid so viciously that it caused his eventual suicide is accepted as unquestioned fact? Three men died who supposedly had sexual relations with our president, yet no one believes a connection can be made. Even the kid Romney hazed didn’t point to the incident as reason for his suicide yet the story was heavily reported. These arrows that the left keeps trying to shoot at Romney are not piercing the way they intend because Romney is not made from the same immoral fabric as they are. The portrayal of greed and immorality with which they keep attempting to present us is simply not landing. And now comes word that Obama and his minions may be considering another stimulus package? Seriously, just a day or two after insinuating that the stagnant economy, er….the plummeting economy is the fault of the GOP. Two years of a democrat controlled Congress with no budget, two years of a Republican controlled Congress and the democrats in the Senate have shot down any budget proposal. They now want more of our money but they refuse to tell us how it’s being spent. Attention liberals, the commanders in your ideology are stealing everything you own and you are praising them for it. Grow a spine or get the heck out of my country. End of story.

When will enough be enough? When will we stop overlooking the very things Obama has blatantly admitted in books, memoirs, and interviews so that we can use similar ammunition against Romney? Obama has flat out admitted to drug-use, bullying, and delusional thought, yet all attention has been carefully diverted from the inherent story. The man admitted to eating a dog. I mean…..you just don’t eat dog and then run the United States of America. That is NOT how they drew it up! Mitt Romney will be the next President of The United States because he actually cares about the United States. Not once, in any of his memoirs and other written nonsense has Barack Hussein Obama mentioned love of country. How can a man who has never displayed patriotism be expected to lead those who would die to do so? Mitt Romney may not have served in the military. He may not have been the best governor in the history of Massachusetts, but he did manage to work with one of the most liberal state congresses ever assembled. Throughout his life, Mitt Romney has delivered success wherever he has worked. He’s got a drive within him that Obama and his excuses simply can’t fathom. His impact on our country can’t come soon enough!

By the way, among the two celebrities on the list with a college degree…..big time republican contributor Adam Sandler. He might make ridiculously silly movies, but the guy’s not an idiot! That’s right folks, Happy Gilmore is more intelligent than Danny Ocean, Troy, Will Hunting, Gaylord Fokker, Forrest Gump, and The Material Girl. Try to contain your surprise! What? Obama always brags about his degrees yet his most ardent celebrity supporters don’t have any. Romney received simultaneous degrees in law and business from Harvard and his grades are public. It’s worthy of mention.

As always, thanks for playing!

“Humility and knowledge in poor clothes excel pride and ignorance in costly attire.”  - William Penn

What keeps you humble? What is it within your brain that allows you to defend against the inevitable embarrassment that would surely come from exposing the majority of the half-baked plans, ideas, and decisions that pop into your head throughout each and every day? It’s humility. It’s the fact that we are not insulated like we were when we were DSCN1655kids. Last night, I had the distinct privilege to be slapped across the face with a bit of reality that had somehow gone unnoticed in my own life. Unnoticed may be a bit harsh. Perhaps…..”selectively ignored” would be a better way to describe my flight from the reality that my beautiful Jackie and my terrific kids are what keep me grounded.

That may seem like simple and quite common sense to most of you, but allow me to explain. Last night, my seven year old son, Aidan took part in his school’s Black History Night. While the majority of the kids in his school are not black, the event was organized in such a way that skin color was not the accomplishment being celebrated. The celebration was about the accomplishments of the  women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. All of the expected clichés were used to make the correlation between the quilts made by the freed slaves of Gee’s Bend and the diversity of our nation today, but the kids themselves, at least the younger ones like Aidan, couldn’t have cared less about any of that. Last night’s performance was an undeniable example of the fact that racism is something taught. The kids on that stage were untainted by the stresses and temptations of adulthood. Their world is insulated by their limited exposure and the result is unbridled happiness. They have yet to experience the  concept of prejudice, so they sing happily with all of their friends. They could care less about subjects like net worth or income levels, so they laugh with all of their friends. Sadly, the majority of the stress they feel in their young lives is the direct result of parental deflection, so they find comfort in all of their friends.

Unfortunately, we are not afforded the same luxuries of innocence in adulthood. We must face challenges that simply can’t be confronted with childish ideology. Consider anything that requires a minimum age for participation as proof of this fact. Drinking requires an attained age of 21. Voting requires an age of 18 (but proving it is apparently up for debate) as does military service. Driving calls for an attained age of 16, generally speaking. These age restrictions were put in place for a reason. It was the general consensus that unless you had reached the specified age, the emotional, physical. or intellectual requirements of these tasks  would simply be too daunting.

What we have allowed to happen, instead of facing the challenges as a family, is that we have changed the challenges. We have pretended that they don’t exist by putting limitations on our children. Competition is too hard for one kid so instead of encouraging him to work harder or to pursue those things for which his abilities will allow him to excel, we change the rules to accommodate the weak. Those kids grow up to demand what is not realistically theirs. (i.e. Occupy Anything) We thought we were protecting them, but instead we were rendering them incapable of performing in the world that awaited them. How can you be grounded when reality delivers the exact opposite of what you were promised?

Our politicians, celebrities, and pro-athletes are a lot like those insulated kids. They live in worlds where the only opinions they hear are the ones that will make them happy. TonyRomo Anyone who is famous, regardless of reason, is insulated. Do you really believe that Obama surrounds himself with people who will tell him “gee, Mr. President; I don’t really know if stubbornly ignorant is the way to go on this one.” or do you think he’s surrounded by a nest of little, yelping, Carneys who blindly support any decision he makes? Do you think anyone has had enough courage to tell Nancy Pelosi that her patented “I think I just farted” look is starting to greatly reduce the effectiveness of all that plastic surgery? No! Of course not. These people are surrounded only by those who will tell them what they want to hear. That’s not how a team works. A team wins and loses as a unit. If the NFL was run like American Politics, Tony Romo would be allowed to believe that he has won six Lombardi trophies and was the MVP of eight different Super Bowls, two of which he was awarded while in High School. No, a team requires preparation for battle with a common enemy. Each member of the team is assigned a position and prepares so that their contribution will lead to overall victory. When inevitable defeat smacks the team around a bit, they heal together and they prepare for the next battle with the added advantage of having learned the indelible lessons imparted only in defeat.

Compare that to the world in which Barack Hussein Obama  lives. Every decision he makes is made only after consulting with several public opinion polls first. He’s basically spoon fed his opinions by those with which he chooses to surround himself. In that regard, he can never be truly grounded the way a man who is part of a real team will be grounded. A real team accepts defeat as an opportunity to improve. Obama accepts defeat as someone else’s mistake.  He lives his entire life trying to be the man the latest polls tell him he should be. He’s left, like so many others who never figure out how to stick to their convictions, without an identity. He’s left, for lack of a better comparison, like the grown up version of those kids on that stage last night. Happily ignorant of the real world around them. Obama is fed only the information that will support the agenda of those who provide his platform. That’s only half the reality of the country he’s asked to lead. Guess what, Mr. President….Romo hasn’t won a single Super Bowl and your record is not nearly as impressive as your teleprompter would have you believe.

We, as a people, need to remain just as grounded and faithful as those kids on that stage last night. They found themselves shielded from the frightening reality of public speaking by the strength of their innocence. We must resolve to have that kind of faith in our position as conservative, Christian, right-wing, red-state, God-fearing, Church-loving, breeding, patriots and stand together in the face of twisted polls, veiled promises, and outright deceit that is surely coming our way over the next 8 months. Obama will continue his chameleon game, shifting his shape and political color to fit the latest demand of him. We cannot be that way. We must remain steadfast in our belief that if Obama’s given another four years, this country will be nothing more than a final exam question in a future History class.

As always, thanks for playing and have a great weekend!

Jerk The Wheel….

“We made too many wrong mistakes.”   - Yogi Berra

The driver’s side wheels of our country are racing along the quickly eroding edge of a cliff. It’s time to jerk the wheel to the right before we Sheen ourselves. Many of us have noticed, over the past few weeks, that Obama seems to be probing us. He seems to be poking around at our exposed areas, trying to find points of weakness. The Department of C'Mon Baby Health and Human Services debacle of last week…..the ensuing “compromise” that is almost more insulting than the original mandate….the steaming pile of budget that he hurled at us this morning. Barack Hussein Obama and his Alliance of Failure are doing everything they can to implement as many of their failed ideas as possible before November. This would appear to be a sign that they have at least acknowledged the possibility of defeat in November. In fact, I would go so far as to say that his recent actions clearly confess the fact that Obama is beginning to feel the walls closing in on him.

Don’t be fooled by the confident smirk on his face as he pitches the benefits of this politically charged, gimmick riddled, designed to fail budget. Don’t believe the numbers his supporters like Chief of Staff Jacob Lew spew out at us. No sir. It does NOT require 60 votes to pass a budget, it requires 50 and you should know that if I do! Democrats have enough votes to pass a budget if passing the budget was an actual goal. It is not. Do not be fooled. Do not listen to the forthcoming hogwash about Lew meaning that it takes 60 votes to break a filibuster, and other such nonsense. That is not what he said. This budget, just like so many of the jobs bills proposed recently, are designed to be politically advantageous to the Obama administration in their intended failure. As a safety measure, why don’t we just go ahead and assume that every single carefully scripted word that comes from the mouth of Barack Hussein Obama is designed to give him some sort of vague point of reference in a future speech, ad, or negotiation. “C’Mon guys, you know, I tried to help y’all out back in February but you shot down my budget.” It will be factually true, but carefully void of details that we won’t be able to recall unless we keep the facts readily accessible in our minds. Obama’s manipulations do not make his supporters “stupid” or “weak.” It simply means that he is very good at what he does. We must counter his voice in this election. He’s counting on the ridiculously limited attention span of each and every one of us. That’s each and every one of us individually. That’s how Obama and the left see their roles in American Politics. They see themselves as ambassadors of individual citizens instead of guardians of the country. They see the buildings in which their offices are held as their own instead of graciously donated space. Their policies and decisions help the vocal few while destroying the integrity of the United States, domestically and globally.

Obama’s attempts will be relentless. The contraception mandate and this debt raising, job destroying budget he coiled onto the carpet of the voting public this morning are just the beginning. Every action between now and November 6, 2012 is designed to ignite a future passion in his loyal armies. We can extinguish that passion but it will require the relentless effort of each and every one of us. Our counter-measures must be immediate and devastating. Yes, the election is important. Not only the Presidential Election but the 2014 Congressional Elections as well. Those are important, but their importance pales in comparison to the unified front we must present in response to Obama’s2012 Budget onslaught of deceit. No matter who we nominate, if elected, will be an improvement over Obama. I don’t think anyone will sincerely oppose that statement. Yes, I believe Gingrich would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate and I would love to see it, but more than that, I would love to see how many people I can get to vote (R) in this election who voted (INCORRECT) in the last one. He dares to propose a budget that includes $800 million dollars of our money going to help “Arab countries rocked by revolution.” Hey, Barry: You could instead send roughly $2.57 to every single American to aid us in recovering from your presidency. You could put that money back in the Solyndra, A123 Systems, Ener1, Loan Debacle Pile. Stop sending our money to people who don’t want, appreciate, or deserve it. Leave it at home where it can help the people you were elected to lead and protect. Get your responses out there immediately and don’t stop screaming them until this man calls in sick on election day. Scream it! Jerk the wheel!

Confront every form of leftist thought that has managed to invade your life. Indoctrination has begun and it won’t take you long to look around your family and admit evidence of such. Jerk the wheel back to the right. Has it been a while since you attended Church? Get in there and get your head right. Do you feel yourself getting increasingly disgusted with what’s considered acceptable TV? Stop watching. Jerk the wheel to the right. Our unified voice is growing and we simply cannot afford to have it silenced. We must take advantage of their weaknesses just as they are trying to do with our own. They throw a “Bush’s fault” at us and we waste time defending history instead of watching them sneak another failure past us. Jerk the wheel to the right. So much of what is thought in this country is sadly based upon what’s “popular” or “trending.” We gripe about this fact all the time. We cry out to the heavens for answers and explanations as to the celebrity and fortune of all Kardashians, yet we have done nothing to take advantage of the exposed weakness therein. Thought is driven by what’s popular, so change what’s popular. Stand firm in your convictions and don’t run from those who disagree. Without the power of popular thought, Obama’s record destroys him. There are others Take Back America who believe as you do. There are others who believe as you do within earshot of whatever argument you may face. Just because the left has managed to be louder doesn’t mean they win. Obama declares his own opinion to be more relevant than that of the Church; take his blasphemous ass to task. (Sorry, Mom & Dad. It enrages me and I will happily accept your guidance back to sanity later!) Whatever or whoever Obama attacks, support them. Whoever he supports, tear them down. Whenever his argument lacks truth, expose the lie. When he attempts to erase his mistakes with more of our money, explain to those who support such nonsense that they are actually being robbed by the man promising them their “fair share” of free stuff. Keep explaining until you see that light in their eyes register the fact that they have “switched sides” and then send them out to do the same to another misguided soul.

How are we going to defeat the carefully scripted, well funded, political machine that is the Obama Administration? Together. That’s how. We will stand together and we will inspire those who only “want” to believe in Obama’s promises that he can’t possibly deliver on them. We will cut him off at his sneaky little passes. When he claims that we voted down his budget, we will remember the facts surrounding that decision. He’s calling us all “stupid” by assuming that we won’t be able to recall such information by the time he manipulates the facts in an ad or speech. He’s assuming that we’re all too “easily distracted” or just flat-out “weak” to recognize his plots against us. Not only will we remember the facts but we will begin reciting them immediately, relentlessly, and so loudly that they are impossible to ignore. Obama will then flip-flop and “accommodate” us because it’s what’s popular. It will eventually become apparent to those not blindly loyal to a skin color or party that Obama stands for nothing but that which will benefit him and him alone. Men like that are always left exposed, begging, and grasping at power they never really had. Don’t get caught looking at the designed distractions…..stay on point. Ignore conspiracy and focus on truth. There is enough of it to insure his defeat if we stand united, unbreakable, and undeniably resolute. We the people.

As always, thanks for playing,

Who Leads You?

“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.”  - Psalm 19:7

As so many of the ideas for my Monday articles seem to do, this one burst into my mind during Church yesterday. Is God’s Word the authoritative control in your life? That was the question posed to the capacity crowd. Most of us were still in that panicked, running late, “do we have all of our children” frame of mind so the question was a nice, slapping welcome to the service. Sadly, not many of us can honestly answer “yes” to such a question.

right-way-wrong-way1 Following God is not about actions. It’s not about the things you “do” in the world. Following God is about the very way you live your life. It changes the way you think, the way you speak, the way you raise your children and the way you view the world around them. I’ve said in several previous articles that the decay of morality and decency is crippling us as a country, and I know from feedback I’ve received to such statements that there are a large number of you out there who agree with me. It’s cool to ridicule faith. Ratings are boosted when a show is “courageous” enough to question the legitimacy of Christianity. Kids are told, from a very early age, in our over politicized school system that faith and all things related to Church are not to be discussed while they are in class. Same sex marriages. sensitive political issues, Jersey Shore, American Idol, and other such nonsense is perfectly acceptable, but God is not to be discussed. There seem to be so many explanations in this “progressive” world we’re building around ourselves to suggest that the Word of God is just a bunch of made-up gibberish. It seems scientists all over the globe are just racing to prove all us “zealots” wrong, but guess what……you can’t!

As far as politics go, it actually saddens me that there is not much of a focus on God in this election, but at the same time I believe God’s name gets greatly misused in political circles. The point is that Barack Hussein Obama couldn’t possibly lecture anyone from a pulpit of Faith and Christian morals. If he tried, I honestly believe he would be immediately struck by lightning directly in his condescending face. To truly follow the Word of God means that you can’t pick and choose which parts to follow and which times to follow them. Following God is something that consumes you and while I’m sure there are many fine, Christian men in politics I don’t believe the Word can truly govern the government of our country. Christianity preaches of a Kingdom, where God is the one and only King. Our country is a democracy, which means there are many rulers. We are all the rulers in a democracy (in theory at least). The way our current political system is set up, the two will be at constant friction. Our current political system demands deceitThe-Politics-of-Religion-03 and secrecy. It encourages wild spending and wreaks of backhanded deals. A constant doubt of the Word of God feeds interests that can’t profit in a Faithful environment. We’re led to believe that faith makes us weak and that earthly possessions are all that really matters. We’re talked down to as if we’re somehow “beneath” all the people who don’t need the '”crutch” of Christianity. Blithering idiots like Michael Moore and Bill Maher talk smugly as if their misinformed opinions are so much more worthy of trust than the thousands of years and billions of Believers who speak of Faith and its strength in their lives.

Stop it! Our leaders do not need to be “just like Jesus” in order to run this country the way it needs to be run. Newt Gingrich, no matter how hard he tries, is NEVER going to be Jesus Christ. The closest he could possibly come would be Santa Claus and even that would be a massive, moral stretch. He can confess every behind-the-scenes deal he’s ever made and every political enemy he’s ever wronged. He can confess every marital issue he’s ever swept under the rug and he will still be billions upon billions of miles away from Jesus’ personification of perfection. Mitt Romney probably leads the purest personal life of any of the candidates but greed will come up in almost every discussion about him. Barack Hussein Obama…..not even in the same discussion! Why then do we ask our leaders…..the ones who lead a democracy which is pretty much the exact opposite of a Kingdom…….to lead us as Christians? They can’t! We have to lead them and I think images people are finally starting to wake up to that fact. Our politicians are our politicians. They do what we demand of them. They do it cleverly so that they believe everything is their idea, but in the end, they are just our puppets. Romney, Gingrich….it doesn’t really matter as long as we don’t sit by and let them fall asleep at the wheel like the current President has done. Actually, he didn’t fall asleep at the wheel, the battery in his ridiculous little electric car died and his cord isn’t long enough. Stop waiting for a politician to step up and deliver the changes we all want. No man is capable of meeting that much demand. Nor should we allow ourselves to be so lazy as to expect such things from one man, or from our government at all. The changes we all demand are changes that only we as a people can deliver. They are changes that begin in our hearts and spread quickly, as passionately fueled ideas always do. If we truly want to live in a world where politicians are allowed to follow the Word of God in every decision they make, we have to make such ideology acceptable. Not only must it be acceptable, it has to be required. We’re staring down the barrel of an election in which one candidate believes in an obscure, often frowned upon version of God, another is incapable of portraying himself as a fine, Christian man, and the other is Obama. None of them have ever served in the United States Military. None of them have ever done anything that would make them stand out as exemplary humanitarians. (Before any of you nutbags cite Obama’s Nobel Prize, I will remind you that he deserved that award about as much as Kim Kardashian deserves her celebrity.)

In watching the endless debates, primaries, campaign speeches, and downward spiral of Obama’s popularity. anyone would be quick to believe that change is around the corner but for the first time in my life, I feel like it is us who will be delivering the change, not a politician. Reagan oversaw great change in this country because we were in the mood to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and beat back the shame of Carter’s presidency. We’re there again. We’re ready to get back on track and for too long we have sat on the bench watching as ineptitude, immorality, and financial stupidity lead us into catastrophe. We’re at the breaking point and now we’re being told that our fears are unfounded. Whoever ends up getting our vote, Gingrich or Romney, we have to summon the backbone to “make them" do what needs to be done. They’re slaves to trends, so let’s make morality popular again. Let’s make decency the expected norm. Let’s make the voice of the ones who do the most good and the most right the ones that we hear over the crowds of celebrities who do and encourage nothing but harm and more decay.

Obama had his chance and he has blown it. His “investments” if given another four years to plummet like Billy Cundiff’s value to the city of Baltimore, will most certainly bankrupt us. This nonsense about needing to increase the debt ceiling again…..are you kidding me? NO!! You cannot have anymore of our money. You went before the cameras to deliver a State of the Union Address and turned it into another campaign speech. That’s all you do is campaign. You’re a salesman but the problem is that you don’timages (1) passionately believe in the product you’re selling. Those kinds of salesmen; the ones who are only chasing the commission, no matter what it’s form, are always ferreted out and run out of business. The salesman who believes in the products he’s selling…..who uses the products in his own home and would happily defend ‘his’ product is the one who usually enjoys the most long-term success. Those who pitch well can sometimes ride the hype to a view sales awards, but when questionable results expose empty promises they are rarely asked to cross the stage at the following year’s awards banquet. Obama gave us his pitch in 2008. 52% of those who voted, fell for the pitch. That means that 52% of the people who voted in the last Presidential election purchased a faulty product and the recall is about to be issued. Changes must be made and it starts with the man sitting in the Oval Office. Not only must he be changed, like a diaper……but the whole concept of The American President needs a facelift. I don’t want a celebrity running my country. I don’t want an athlete running my country. I don’t want a rap-star running my country and I certainly don’t want anyone who can identify more than three members of the Jersey Shore cast at the helm of my country.

I don’t want God running my country either. I want God to run my life and my relationship with those I love. I want God to be the driving force in the lives of my friends, and those with whom I connect. I want God to run the life of the man that runs my country and I want that man to openly embrace the refreshment that knowledge of his faith gives to the people who gave him his title. Faith requires accountability that public office may not be able to support but I’m ready for a man who is at least willing to try. Aren’t you?

As always, thanks for playing!

Somebody To Lean On….

“Individuals play the game but teams beat the odds.”  - US Navy SEALS

It would take you less than a millisecond to identify an example of moral decay in the world around you. It’s sad, and it’s something about which we all complain, yet the problem persists. Things and topics Disrespectful once considered to be off-limits for public discussion are now acceptable without question. We consider ourselves to be adults yet we have all allowed ourselves to fall prey to the old “well, he did it first” policy for our lives. Attention is heaped upon those who dare to smite the Word of God. Those who openly and happily share their Faith are considered weak by those seeking a life free from the restrictions of purity. Bullying is condemned when charity dollars are in play, but praised via YouTube far more often. The horrendously disrespectful behavior of our children is treated as a medical condition for which pity and telethons are required. We have officially become the most arrogant herd of sheep in the history of the planet.

Why is this so true? Why is it that we continue to allow decay where reinforcement is so readily available? The sad, simple answer is that we are a nation of cowards. Don’t bother sending me a bunch of stories about bravery and courage from generations past. I’m not saying there are not brave individuals within the borders of this country. I’m not saying that America is scared of other countries. What I am saying is that the wrong teams seem to be more and more attractive to us now than they were in other parts of our limited history. Each and every one of us are players on at least a dozen different teams. Our families can be our team, but they are often the hardest ones to lean on when leaning is needed. I would take an 8 second inhale inside Hillary Clinton’s sweaty gym socks if it spared my brother from that same terror. The same can be said, perhaps more eloquently, of any of the ‘teams’ to which you have pledged allegiance. The problem is that in order to reap the benefits offered by our teammates, admission of weakness is usually required. Pride keeps us from admitting weakness to those we look up to. We allow ourselves to believe we can “fix it” on our own before a member of the team must lend support. You can’t. History has proven time and time again that the greatest victories are those that you share. The same can be said of defeat if there is such a thing as a great one.

Comparably, that huge team we all play for……the one to which we have pledged allegiance with hand over heart……we’re losing that tournament badly. We’ve settled rathergreener than confront so many of the issues promoting our demise. We’ve accepted immorality rather than question the fame of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and all the other panty-averse celebrities out in the land of Pelosi. Their team is ‘sexier.’ (Despite the fact that Pelosi’s image has been successfully tested as an immediate antidote to Viagra.) We accept the notion that questioning Obama’s leadership makes us racist. Their team is more ‘progressive.’ The once powerful guidance of religion and morality has been overrun by science, sin, and opinion. Their team is ‘louder.’ To live your life in a conservative, Christian manner is to follow the lunacy of Westboro Baptist Church, but to point out the fact that every single one of the cowards that downed the planes on 9/11 was of Middle Eastern descent means you are intolerant. We now live in a world where moderation is penalized and limits are constantly challenged and adjusted to accommodate lowered social standards. Negativity is the expectation, conflict is the tone. The elected leaders of this flagship team we call America have lost their way. But we allowed them to do so. We cast more votes for the “feel-good” story; the eloquent speaker; and the myriad empty promises because we got caught up in the temporary hype of another team.

The good news is that room can always be made for you on any team with which you choose to associate. Maybe you’ve been on a team that promotes an ideology with which you don’t necessarily agree. In it’s infancy, perhaps it appealed to you but through the years the team’s “progress” has taken it to destinations you didn’t intend to visit. Perhaps you voted for a man that charmed the world and dispatched his minions to enhance his appeal but now regret that decision. It’s not too late. Switch teams. Perhaps your contract was recently purchased by a demon you believed to have been defeated years ago. Luckily, we are not restricted by the same shackles of professional sports. Your contract is perpetually for sale and you are your only agent. The team with whom you choose to play says a lot about you as a person. Loyalty can be questioned when it’s bestowed upon categorically unworthy recipients. Collusion is the mistress of popularity and both have found a voice in mainstream media. As if the straightforward attacks weren’t bad enough, they are now bombarding our heads with subliminal weaponry. If you have built a core team around you, no one can truly defeat you. Your personal weaknesses may knock you down from time to time, but there is more than likely someone on your team to give strength where you have none. When I have taken the path with all the shiny appeal, someone on my team has been there to smack me in the forehead with a big hammer of lucidity. A loyal teammate will not dwell on your weaknesses but will instead defend you against the threats you don’t see for yourself. They do so with the belief that you will do the same for them if the situation ever calls for it. Those who now stand with heads hung low under the weight of their Obama-laden vote in the 2008 election must now be protected from the Aaron Rodgers carnivorous monsters who will soon come calling for what they view as their rightful property. We cannot allow them to go.

Here’s another analogy. All year long, we’ve been told of Aaron Rodgers’ and the Green Bay Packers eventual return to the Super Bowl. It was as if the rest of the league was competing for second best. Rodgers. threw for an average of eighteen touchdowns and 750 yards per game according to several of the more loyal announcers on NFL Network. He completed passes to coaches, opposing cheerleaders, commentators, and in one instance completed a game winning pass to the Chipwich guy. So legendary is Rodgers that these stats actually enhanced his numbers for the season. Yesterday, Mr. Rodgers had what we like to call an “off-game.” I am not, in any way, trying to insinuate that Aaron Rodgers is a subpar quarterback. He’s an excellent quarterback. The problem yesterday is that his team put all the responsibility of victory on his arm. When his arm failed him, and the frozen fingers of his receivers dropped almost as many balls as they caught, the rest of the team was incapable of compensating. They had ridden the strength of one man to the playoffs and when that strength failed them, they were exposed. While this example may be terribly painful to the Packer nation, it serves as a poignant reminder that a team, no matter how great it’s superstars, is nothing without an equal effort from each and every member. Had the running game been able to step up and bail Rodgers out, we might be discussing the hated Giants today.

We often do the same things to ourselves. For whatever reason, we allow ourselves to believe that we are bigger than our team. We allow ourselves to believe that all responsibility of victory should be on our shoulders and when we let our teammates down, it’s often devastating to our confidence. The reality is that a true teammate is not Course Correction Required.. disappointed when you think he is. A true teammate hurts for you without judgment. A true teammate will defend you even when the sting of your personal defeat hits them in ways you can’t imagine. A true teammate feels your moments of sadness, loss, defeat, and suffering as they would feel their own but they often conceal their tears to encourage your own well-being. Win or lose, you go down together and you go down swinging. That’s what being on a team is like. Are you part of a real team?

There are many people out there holding unsigned contracts in their hands. They are looking for a team. For some reason or another, none have made them an offer they could stick with and to this point in their lives, they have been wandering. These people need someone with whom they can identify and advance. While the love of a family is unconditional in it’s most accepted depiction, that love is not always the shield we hope it to be. Sometimes the shoulder we want to cry on is not the one being offered, and sometimes the advice we give sounds better passing the lips of another person. Right now, as a country, there are a lot of people who want to cry on the shoulder of the democratic party but that shoulder is not being offered to them. Instead, that shoulder is being used to carry the very source of so many tears. That shoulder is being used to support the very man with whom so many have become disillusioned. Do we shun them away from our mission because of past transgressions? Do we offer them safe haven while they fully absorb the mistake they made in 2008 or do we let them stay home with their vote in a good old fashioned pout-fest? In our families, there are those who have made mistakes. They have suffered what may seem like an insurmountable defeat, yet this is when they are truly loved the most. Scars make us human. If none of us ever made a mistake, this would be a very boring world and movies, sports, politics, and celebrity gossip shows would SUCK!

Indecision is a virus that can run through an army and destroy its will to win or even to survive.”     - Wendell Mayes

indecision

The 2012 Election is still a long way off, but already there seems to be weakness in the opposition to Obama. Newt Gingrich is the front-runner di jour but many of us seem suspiciously loyal to him at best. We seem to be willing to hear him out, but cautiously waiting for that bombshell to come around and make us all glad we didn’t publicly hitch our wagon to his experimental rocket. I personally like Newt, but I don’t believe he’ll survive the all out war Obama has been planning and funding for the past three years. It took too many people way too long to create the image of Barack HUSSEIN Obama. No freaking way are his political creators going to let him to just step aside gracefully like we all wish he would. Newt will be isolated from the pack and then eaten alive by Obama’s well funded, maniacal legions. Newt can’t rely on his Fox News love to go very far among the MSNBC crowd.

All signs would indicate that we’re poised for a glorious victory in 2012, but our own indecision may be exactly the spark that sends that victory instead to the devastating blaze of defeat. I believe Newt Gingrich would lead this country in a direction much more conducive to long term success than the buffoon currently residing on Pennsylvania Avenue, but what do we do if he doesn’t even get that far? What do we do if the mighty media succeed in their confusion riddled agenda? Right now, we’re making it pretty easy for them. We are doing exactly what we accused them of doing in 2008 and in 2004. In 2004, when Kerry was all but moving his furniture into the White House, we all accused the left and the media of using “anyone but Bush” as a policy. Every question they were asked received a dismissive scoff and a condescending “great, another FauxNews idiot.” Make no mistake, the fire that their antics lit under our butts in that election will be kissing the flesh of their misinformed glutes if we don’t learn from their mistakes and make some serious course corrections now. Of course we want all traces of Obammunism erased from the White House. We want ObamaCare and all of this administration’s absurd spending and reckless ineptitude soundly defeated. On that point we can all agree. The problem lies in the fact that we can’t seem to get our support behind one particular candidate. We keep holding out hope for this perfect image. That strong willed, charming, humorous candidate with an interesting but scandal free past and approachable mannerisms. That guy was elected in 1980, folks. He ain’t coming back. Now let’s get our heads together and stop letting the media tell us who to vote for and more importantly, who not to vote for.

We rely too heavily on the media for our opinions. Research the candidates. Form your own opinion. If Newt implodes under Obama’s pressure, we cannot be led to believe images that it was catastrophic to any hopes of dethroning the Hopey-Changey-Sure-Is-Crazy media darling. Right now there are too many candidates to choose from. I understand that the field could possibly be narrowed by the end of tonight in Iowa, and that new candidates may be out there, just waiting to enter the race; but we had better get our list of demands ready and we had better be ready to vote as a strong, unified voice or doom awaits us. We can’t afford for the Ron Paul supporters to sit at home and waste their vote if their man doesn’t get the nod. If someone other than Gingrich ends up getting the endorsement, then we had better be ready with support and demands. Unwavering demands. Mitt Romney may be the candidate facing Obama in the polls next year. Could you look beyond his religious beliefs and vote for him? The left will convince you that doing so would be unfair. They will run aggressive ads; shocking ads that are aired during primetime to spark the most impact and discussion among families. Ads that insinuate voting for Romney would be hypocritical since we’ve been so judgmental of Obama’s heavily shielded religious beliefs. Are you strong enough to greet those absurd attempts at misdirection with fervent focus and determination? If Gingrich does get the nod, are you strong enough to withstand the onslaught of ads against the “old, white man?” They’ve already started. They’ve already begun the war of subliminal campaigning. Subtle references to “white-haired politicians” in the ‘hip TV shows.” Pithy dialog from the illustrious and never biased Jon Stewart. The seed of doubt was planted in our minds long ago. We have doubts about each one of the candidates on our side of the playing field but an honest reflection of those doubts will reveal that most are based in sound-byte and hyperbole. Their mantra is the same. The ire we direct at the man who dares to consider himself a defender of our values is assuredly warranted.

In front of foreign audiences, he has denounced our collective belief in Christ yet outrage was contained. Billions of dollars wasted, yet he looks down his nose at us and acts as if explaining any of his wisdom to us peasants is a task that’s simply beneath him. When the election/battle finally erupts, we will not be given the same weapons they are given. The media is on their side and they are crafty little devils. They are armed with our loyal attention and they have become insatiable in their thirst for control over our thoughts. They will call you an extremist despite your calm demeanor. They will call you a redneck despite your superiorimages (1) education. They will call you a fear monger despite your proven logic and sound reasoning. They will misrepresent facts and twist numbers. You will not see an honest representation of economic figures between now and the election yet we must fight with the facts as we know them We must collect our energies, share them amongst ourselves and win. There is not a candidate alive who meets every requirement we all have of them. It’s impossible. To waste your vote rather than vote for someone who may wear different undies than you is absurd. If this country ends up under the Chinese flag, it will be YOUR fault! Let’s get it together and form that alliance. Above all else, Obama must be defeated. That is a simple fact but we are not going to fight the same battle the left fought in 2008. We’re not going to cast our vote for someone with inflated credentials, fictional backgrounds, and a “feel-good” army of misinformed idiots demanding their equally misinformed candidate be placed in office. We’re not going to deploy the biggest use of the race card in history, and yet we are still going to win. We are going to win because hype fades. Obama has outlived his hype. He has proven that he can’t deliver the things his voters believed he would deliver. The support he had in 2008 dissolved the second his fan-base realized they still had to pay their bills despite their messiah landing the presidency. The man has been over his head since his inauguration but his vote alone did not land him in office. The hype machine must be silenced during this go-round. When you encounter one of those people that get their news from Jon Stewart and Matt Lauer exclusively, those poor souls who seem to be “on the fence” when it comes to almost any issue…….it is your civic duty to feed them with so many facts that they can’t possibly vote for the current regime.

Michelle They hype machine obviously works on both sides of the aisle. Unfortunately, we are usually the recipients of negative hype, but it is hype nonetheless. WeSuggs were told McCain was too old to lead despite the fact that McCain wins any physical contest between himself and Obama. McCain wasn’t elected because he was street-rat crazy. While we didn’t believe a word out of Obama’s mouth, we couldn’t wholeheartedly throw our support behind McCain either. Not even with Governor Palin in the fray. The media insured that we saw McCain as a dangerously old and feeble man and Palin as a twit, but we didn’t elect him because he just didn’t convince us he was worth going to the polls for. How do you feel now? Would you vote for McCain if the election was held tomorrow? Already we’re hearing disparaging remarks about Gingrich’s wife. “She may only be 45, but her penchant for boxy suits, pearls, and that gleaming helmet of peroxide…..” from Tamara Abraham.  These are the same people who have tried for the last half-decade to convince me that Michelle Obama is attractive, athletic, and “fashion-forward”, whatever the hell that means. Michelle Obama looks like Terrell Suggs in drag. Plain and simple. She’s not pretty. She’s not elegant, or charming, or passionate. She’s just there. Unlike her doppelganger, she has no presence; no command. I guess neither is required when they can just get created for her. Do not get distracted.

Think about this for a few seconds……we keep hearing so much about the “courage” and “collective voice” of the Occupy Wall Street bunch. Media continues to blast capitalism as if they put all those commercials and logos on their channel for free. But when logic is applied, as is so often the case, their arguments crumble. Capitalism works and we have to stop letting them convince the weak that the opposite is true.  This year, 7.2 billion shopping experiences will occur at Wal-Mart. The earth’s population is approximately 6.5 billion. 90% of Americans live within 15 minutes of a Wal-Mart, making them more accessible than the US Postal Service. Wal-Mart paid $7.1 billion in taxes last year, yet during that same period, the combined tax liability of ALL Wall Street protesters was negative $250 Billion. (Okay, so that’s the total amount of money refunded by the IRS in 2010. The conservative in me wouldn’t allow that one to just dangle out there!) I guess a better argument, and one more closely based in fact, would be to tell you that the top 25 companies in the US paid an average of 25.4% of their income in taxes last year. Meanwhile, the majority of those people who split the $250 billion refund pot are now sleeping in tents, pooping in streets, and demanding more free stuff. We are literally paying these people to piss us off. It has got to stop. We should be studying every move Wal-Mart has ever made. They have operated at maximum efficiency and they have expanded in ways the US Government couldn’t duplicate with 100% tax rates and mind control. Stop letting the media dictate how we live our lives. I don’t give a warm Texas cow-pie what Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton think and I sure as hell don’t care about who will receive their vote. They’re morons yet more people can identify them than John Boehner.

The office of the President of the United States of America is about so much more than the man who wears the title. We’ve forgotten that, it seems. We’ve forgotten what is really at stake when we cast our votes. It’s not a popularity contest. We’re not asking for someone who looks good on TV, and gives good speeches. We’ve got one of those already. If your candidate doesn’t end up getting the nod and you end up staying home on election day in some kind of self-serving protest, I think I should be allowed to come to your home and punch you. If you stay home and Obama wins…….I’m bringing Mr. Suggs with me! The President of the United States is supposed to represent America. I refuse to believe that Obama represents what we have become as a country, but a reelection would go a long way toward bringing that fear to reality. In the end, it is our responsibility to elect the man or woman we feel would best represent us. We owe it to ourselves and to the very essence of our democracy to vote for the person most likely to propel the interests of our country over those held only in his party, mind, or mysterious family. We owe it to ourselves to research beyond the media offerings catering only to our own beliefs. Be smart enough to fend off manipulation, and committed enough to inspire change in the minds of those left confused. We owe it to our children to show them that the celebrities they follow are not the characters they love. A candidate who talks down to them is just using them whether they’re teenagers or senior citizens. Most of all, we owe it to ourselves to VOTE!!

As always, thanks for playing.

All great change in America begins at the dinner table.”

-Ronald Reagan

I’ll be the first to admit that I simply haven’t been all that captivated by the so-called Herman Cain controversy. I’ll also admit, albeit with a bit more KKardashian shame, that I have paid more attention to the Kardashian publicity/wedding event than I have paid to the Herman Cain sexualHermanCainProfilePic scandal. Yes, although Kim Kardashian is a disgusting example of pretty much everything that’s wrong with America, she does have Mr Cain beat in the looks department. That’s about it.

I sincerely hope that anyone reading this rant knows me well enough to know that I couldn’t possibly care less about anything Kardashian. (Except Bruce Jenner’s hair. It’s mesmerizing.) I care even less about the vague, baseless and transparently misleading accusations against Herman Cain. I have yet to hear a woman’s name mentioned in association with this so called scandal, but I cannot emphasize enough how little attention I have given to this story. If one has identified herself, then I sincerely apologize for not calling her a liar by name. Personally, I don’t care if Herman Cain wears a diaper and sucks on a pacifier when he’s in the privacy of his own home. I don’t care how he dresses or who he slept with twenty years ago. That’s for him to reconcile. As far as I’m concerned, he’s being attacked by the very people I consider to be my enemies.

No one at the schools Obama claims to have attended can remember him. There has never been a woman claiming to have been Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s girlfriend in college, high-school, or any other period in his life. I find the absence of past more alarming than a questionable one. A questionable past means Mr Cain fought through some demons. A questionable past means he has made mistakes similar to the ones we have all made in our lives and he has learned the lessons inherent in the pain. NO past means someone is going to great and expensive lengths to cover up a personal history that for some reason or another cannot be revealed. Why? Where are the people from OUR PRESIDENT’S past? No one makes it through the American political system without making enemies willing to expose, twist, and inflate even the most miniscule of indiscretions, so how is it that Obama seems to have no past? My theory that Obama was actually invented in George Soros's basement is starting to seem plausible, isn’t it? (No, I do not really believe he’s a robot. A demon? Yes. Robot? No.)

Sadly, this questionable coverage of Mr Cain’s questionable past is just another shining example of the infuriating control media continues to exert over the easily fooled. (Otherwise known as Obamanites, Barackians, Idiots, or Disciples of Obamunism)

Scott Whitlock, Senior News Analyst atCainClinton Media Research Center, points out that “NBC, CBS, and ABC have developed an insatiable hunger for the Herman Cain story”. The “story” has been told over fifty times in just three days on the three major networks, insuring that the spark becomes a flame in the kindling of public opinion. In contrast, the far more serious allegations of sexual misconduct by Bill Clinton were largely ignored. We had named women, with graphic descriptions of specific acts and they were Pelosi given far less airtime than this story with no named sources. The media is insuring our minds are consistently focused on something irrelevant while debacles like Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Nancy Pelosi’s facial tremors, and Eric Holder are being shuttled to safety behind our complacent backs. Shame on us!

So? What can we do? There’s an old saying in business: Never wage war with someone who buys their ink by the barrel. That saying is now antiquated like so many of our routines and beliefs. Media is no longer the “Great Oz” that it used to be. With all of the advancements in technology, we truly have the ability to insulate ourselves from the blistering onslaught of liberal lunacy if we so choose. As individuals, we lack the power to defeat the media. It’s sad but true. No, you can’t defeat the media, but you CAN and SHOULD do everything in your power to insure that the influence of the media is kept to a dull hum within the walls of your home and more importantly within the minds of your family. Media is not limited to TV and Internet either. Don’t be fooled. Your kids are being influenced at school, in advertising, with music, and even in the seemingly innocuous activities in which they participate.

Change starts at the dinner table. Such a simple statement from a man known for such things. It’s true, when you think about it. If we take the time to educate our children, media will eventually bow to their demands like the ratings driven, approval seeking, money dependent addicts they are. If we train our children to think for themselves; to seek the company of like minded, challenging people; to be unafraid to lead in an unpopular direction if it’s the right thing to do; to question hype; to study the facts and not memorize sound-bytes, we will eventually be okay. Teach your kids the difference between conservative and liberal and why the choice is so critical. Explain, in terms they can understand, comprehend, and repeat; the belief that small government and minimum taxation breeds success whereas big government and absurd taxation breeds dependence. Liberals are weak. Period. Anyone who believes someone else is better suited to make their own decisions for them is weak. Plain and simple. Put enough arrows in the quiver of a first time archer and they will eventually hit the bulls-eye. Your kids are going to face unimaginable influence from the very people, thoughts, and beliefs you fear. Are you giving them enough arrows? Could your teenage daughter defend her conservative opinions to an aggressive teacher with liberal views? Is your son strong enough to lead his friends in the direction he believes or will he follow in the direction of the pack? We can’t afford to just assume our kids will make the right choice when faced with such decisions. You have to get in there, get your hands dirty, and put in the work to guarantee they are.

Don’t let the world outside your home raise your children and then complain when your children behave exactly like the world outside your home.

As always, thanks for playing!
