Eleven Years Later…..

By: J Robert Giles

“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” - George W. Bush

9-11 (Liberty)

As we watch family members read the names of those who perished eleven years ago this morning, we are all reminded of where we were. We are all reminded of the pain, the anger, and the patriotism we felt as those responsible for the horrific acts began to celebrate what they viewed as a victory.

We will forever be reminded of President George W. Bush and how he bravely guided America, as one, unified nation, through the most devastating day in America’s brief but illustrious history. We’re reminded of the courage he displayed and the humility he allowed the world to see as he looked to those he represented for inspiration. We all remember those feelings.

The memorials taking place this morning in New York City are free from the insincere presence of politics. Empty speeches made to insulted crowds are not taking center stage this year as they have in past years. This is how it should be. That ground is, and forever will be sacred. Those who don’t understand or accept the fact that no words or level of eloquence will ever place them above our own recollections of 9/11 should step aside until they can do both. While the memorials are free from politics, we cannot afford to be.

I have not heard a single person tell me a story of recollection that involves our current President. America will forever remember President George W. Bush as the man who led us through the dark hours that followed the attacks, but how in the world are we going to explain to our kids that George Bush’s successor was a man no one had ever heard of on 9/11/2001? How do we explain to our kids that in the years following those monstrous attacks, we let our guard down again? We weren’t attacked by violent terrorists, but make no mistake…..for the last four years, we have been attacked. How do we look our grandchildren in the eye and tell them that our own guilt allowed us to elect a man with a name sounding suspiciously like the names of the men who flew the infamous planes into buildings and fields that morning?

I want a president who recognizes the fact that his country is in a fight. The fact that His Barackness spent a significant portion of his life in a part of the world that openly celebrated the carnage of that morning has very little to do with it. The catastrophic leadership provided in the last four years has undone much of the efforts made in the wake of 9/11 to protect America from ever feeling the unified heartache we felt that morning. I don’t really care where he was born, educated, or raised; his focus has not been on the continued safety of America. His focus has been on his own image in every decision he has made since taking office.

Eleven years after the attacks, we have a President who among other things, simply can’t contain Iran with his charm, has refused to condemn Syrian President Assad for his horrific acts against his own people, openly weakens America’s relationship with Israel, and is now attending less than half of his Presidential Daily Briefs. (PDB – The meeting in which the United States President receives a daily briefing on the most critical intelligence threats to the country.)

We deserve better. We deserve a President who still feels anger at the recollection of his own emotions that morning. We deserve better than a President who claims victory for the actions of others while openly condemning the very practices that delivered said victory.

We deserve a President who has no interest in appeasing the enemy by diminishing the Christian history of our country. We deserve a President who will proudly embrace his Faith. We deserve a President who will look to God for guidance as he leads America, not one who mentions God’s name only when cameras and poll-takers are present. We deserve a President who understands that abolishing the things our enemies hate is just as much a defeat to America as losing a violent and bloody war. We deserve a President who realizes America is much more than just a country. It’s much more than just a community of human beings. America is an idea. It’s an idea worth defending, emulating, and aspiring to.

I’m still angry when I think of that second plane slamming into the Twin Towers as I watched on live television with the rest of the world. I want to confront the very ideology behind that indelible memory. The fight doesn’t have to take place with weaponry and bloodshed as those on the left love to claim. That confrontation can take place without the loss of more American life. That battle can be won with steadfast resolve in the face of a relentless enemy and in the consistent application of common-sense. Both of those components require a new President in November.

It’s time to show a man no one had ever heard of on 9/11 that his Presidency will be remembered as a failure. His attempts to abandon the Christian history of America in order to make room for a belief system that encourages death to those who reject it can only be thwarted in his November defeat. He must be removed from power so that the ease of access enjoyed by those hoping to celebrate the fall of Liberty can be restricted and cut off wherever possible. In his absence, we can pursue evidence that will protect America, not the enemy.

There should not be a political aspect to the emotions of this day. They attacked America – not Republicans – not Democrats. They attacked freedom, liberty, and prosperity. They attacked us in order to legitimize their own standing in the hierarchy of terrorist organizations. They attacked us to spread their message. To that end, we deserve a President who will be more than just a messenger for the enemy.

Go and elect the President America deserves on November 6, 2012. Get this buffoon out of office before the damage he leaves in his wake is viewed as a victory by those who delivered such somber atmosphere to this date on our calendars.

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

As always, thanks for playing!

The Screaming Majority…..

By: J Robert Giles

“All that is necessary for tyranny to gain a foothold is for men of good conscience to remain silent.” - Thomas Jefferson

Preacher Man

It’s a quote used often to capture the essence of various situations in our political system. Jefferson was full of them. He was not afraid to speak his mind, but for far too long, his modern mental counterparts have done just that. Those of us who believe in the promise of America as fervently as men like Jefferson did…..well, we’ve been victims of suppression.

We’ve been suppressed by distractions. We’ve been suppressed by public opinion. And most importantly, we’ve been suppressed by a system that encourages and rewards those who follow an opposite set of values.

We’ve been scolded by people who pretend to be other people for a living. We’ve been chastised for believing in a God that George Clooney has never seen. We’ve been ridiculed for celebrating the birth of our Lord but Tom Cruise and his crazy spaceship captain of a god are worthy of constant affection. We’ve been labeled as ‘less educated’ than the boisterous opposition.

I am NOT less educated that George Clooney, I can assure you of that. In recent weeks, our voice has been gathering volume. The voice of those who have been referred to as the “silent majority” is starting to gain significant strength.

We are not the silent majority. We are the majority. Period. Kids scream the loudest but that certainly doesn’t make them “right.” Think about it. When was the last time you were in a Wal-Mart and witnessed a child in the throes of a high-grade temper tantrum? Did you think to yourself “man, I sure do support that kid’s opinion because he’s so loud” or did you silently wish the parent would bring harm to the child? Have you ever witnessed a 16 year old girl trying to get something that serves ONLY her own purposes? They’re loud, volatile, and completely void of logic. Remind you of any particular political party?

In recent weeks, the left has tried on several occasions to thrust their agenda down our throats and with increasing pride, we have swatted their opinions down like the manure circling flies they are. Chick Fil-A had the audacity to announce that they support marriage as it is defined in the Bible and the left lost their collective minds. At Willow Creek Water Park in Arkansas, discounts were being offered to church groups. Obviously, this is the beeswax of the group calling themselves “freedom From Religion”…..based in Wisconsin.

“Freedom From Religion” is another one of these groups who can’t stand the thought of public prayer, or any form of worship. They’re small, weak, and looking for an opportunity to gain publicity. Those who so openly and disgustingly sought to end Chick Fil-A for their public disobedience to the almighty homosexual agenda were greeted with the kind of strength, conviction, and resolve that needs to explode throughout this country on November 6th.

America is tired of being told how to live, love, eat, and pray by the “misguided minority.” Many of you know “Pastor Denise” Simmons from Colorado. In a recent conversation, Pastor Denise mentioned to me that she had been “praying for President Obama.” Not praying for his defeat. Not praying for his unelection. Just praying for him. Praying that the man who claims religious awareness only when it will help his immediate image will eventually find the peace he is so eloquently avoiding now. The enemy is somehow deserving of Pastor Denise’s prayers. That’s a powerful and telling statement if you think about it.

Do you suppose His Barackness ever prayed “for” President Bush? Do you suppose there has ever been a time, given all of her supposed Catholic Faith that Nancy Pelosi has prayed for anyone but herself, her plastic surgeon, or her Obama assigned agenda? Faith in God involves standing in defiance of popular opinion when that opinion contradicts the word of God. No matter how much sniveling little weasels like Freedom From Religion want it to be untrue, Faith is exactly what was on the minds of those men who created this great country of ours.

Yes, our country was founded as a result of fleeing the religious persecution of England, but to compare that to the insidious attacks by the non-religious is not only absurd but also quite dangerous. In America, we are free to practice whatever religion is desired. We are free to abstain from any and all religious discourse if that is the path we choose. We are free to speak our minds and we are free to vote for people we feel represent OUR voice.

Somewhere along the line, the idea was planted in the minds of the left that the freedoms we hold so dear are only valid when they support the liberal agenda. The idea that what’s popular is more important than what’s right rooted itself in weak, liberal soil and we now face one of the toughest battles America has ever faced in our effort to beat back such lunacy. Success requires tough decisions. Success requires huge leaps into uncertainty. Such leaps are often referred to as “leaps of faith” for a reason.

Faith gives men strength where the faithless can only uncover fear. Faith gives us courage where opposition can only muster frenzied hype. Like that spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum in Wal-Mart. They’re not getting their way, so everyone must suffer until this grave injustice against them is made right.

Stand firm all you Right Wing Nutjobs. Stand firm in your conviction. Stand firm in your faith. God does not smile upon the homosexual agenda and he certainly doesn’t condone a country who would allow sexuality of any kind to be the basis for a vote. Not to lend any credence to the maniacal whackos at Westboro Baptist, but for President Obama to publicly support gay marriage while simultaneously stripping away the rights of a Church is not exactly what God had in mind.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will be demonized in the coming months. They will be attacked relentlessly but it is important for us, the “silent majority” to scream louder than the current popular opinion. Yes, you are free to practice religion as you see fit in America but nowhere does that freedom give you the right to suppress my Faith. Yes, you are free to speak your mind, but when your words and actions influence my child, you’re cut off. The incessant barrage of homosexuality is unnecessary. If it’s truly natural and not a choice as the left so adamantly claims, then pushing it down our throats would be a wasted effort. If it’s natural, then why are they having to push so hard across so many different mediums? Why is it so important that it be “accepted.” If it’s natural, it’s accepted. That’s how nature works.

No one is suggesting that gays need to be banned from existence. I’m not even suggesting that they be banned from our country. I’m not making a suggestion at all. I’m making a demand.

With my vote for Romney / Ryan in November, I am making a demand that this ridiculous campaign of immorality be commenced. I’m demanding that the White House become much more than an Altar of Deceit. (Thanks, Denise!) I’m demanding that our leaders, at every level, honor their jobs and not their agenda.

God doesn’t separate people into classes. He loves all living things the same. Faithful or not, God loves you. You don’t have to love Him. You don’t have to honor his commandments and you don’t have to pray to him. You don’t have to accept the limitless gifts God has bestowed upon your life but you sure as heck are not going to keep me and my family from doing all of those things listed above. If my son has questions about sexuality, it is MY responsibility to teach him and I can assure you, my teachings will confirm the teachings in the Bible. If you have a problem with that then you can raise your child within the confines of your own orthodoxy. You will not influence mine.

Pandering to the most frenzied, radical elements of our country and stirring up the looney-juice does NOT make Obama a good leader. Furthering an agenda that is clearly condemned in the Bible does not make him brave, it makes him a gutless politician looking for votes. Selling our country to illegal immigrants in hopes that they will return the favor with a vote does not make Obama a humanitarian. It makes him a slimy politician willing to do anything to retain his power.

Make no mistake…..Barack Hussein Obama doesn’t give a flying {Insert expletive} about you, your family, your faith, or your future. He cares about himself. Period.

As always, thanks for playing!

Creeping Like Kudzu…..

By: J Robert Giles

“Our wisdom comes from our experience; and our experience comes from our foolishness.”  Sasha Guitry

Boko Haram

Because I never want it to be said of me that I am anything but a giver, I decided to give Obama a break in my last article. I allowed myself to believe that my vision had become too narrowed and that a break from Obamabashing would serve me well. I was wrong.

This man is a danger to himself and others and he simply must be removed from power. That is not to say that he should be removed in a manner that would cement his heavily romanticized legend, but rather that he should be voted out of office with staggering clarity. Fraud, corruption, and blind loyalty will insure a significant number of votes for His Barackness but they will be powerless in the face of overwhelming support for his ouster. The weapons of deception loved so adamantly by the left cannot penetrate the shields of true patriotism.

A unified, informed voice will overpower a weak, uneducated, campaign of hype and lies. Every single time. The problem we now face is that Obama is a master of deflection. It’s time now to beat him at his own game. It is now time to flood every single message board, comment thread, and social media outlet with FACTS. Facts cannot be dismissed as easily as the fabricated, politically motivated nonsense the left continues to hurl at Mitt Romney.

Their critical misstep is that they assume we fight for the same goals they do. They fight for Barack Hussein Obama. They fight for him because they have not yet freed themselves from the net of deception His Barackness seems to have cast over a frightening portion of this country. Well, guess what…..we don’t fight for any individual man. They fought against Bush in 2008 and they now fight for Obama. We fight for America. We fight for the core values that make this country great. We fight for the freedom to say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays.” We fight for the right to publicly honor the history of our country and the decision making processes of the men who created her.

Those on the left who have repeatedly attempted to rewrite our rich, Christian history to suit their wildly obstructed view of reality will soon find themselves in search of a new ideology. We must make it so. We must stand up, and scream our desires to see another man standing behind the Presidential Seal. We must scream those desires in a voice so loud, it cannot possibly be ignored; here or abroad. We must do absolutely everything within our power to insure that the Resolute Desk is treated with the respect owed to it by means of the courageous documents to have passed over her surface and not as a freaking footrest. We must insure that the man sitting behind that desk cares more about America’s safety than he cares about his own image or the furthering of a destructive set of beliefs.

In Nigeria recently, a group known as Boko Haram poked their heads out of the woodwork long enough to demand that the overtly Christian, Nigerian President either convert to Islam or resign. President Goodluck Jonathon responded by saying that the people of Nigeria elected him with overwhelming support knowing full well that he was a Christian and he would not surrender that directive to blackmail.

Despite the fact that Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for numerous bombings in the Northern states of Nigeria, President Jonathon is standing firm in his convictions. Can any of you look me in the eye and say that you honestly believe President Barack Hussein Obama, separated from the bulletproof shell he now enjoys, and plopped down in the middle of a third world protection detail, would have nearly as much courage? Do you think he would honor his alleged Christian Faith, or do you think he would soil himself like an excited Jay Carney when he’s let out of his travel crate? Without the protection and insulation afforded the President of the United States of America by Secret Service, Intelligence Agencies, Armed Forces, and superior technology…..left to stand on his own convictions…..Obama takes the easy way out; every single time. You know it; I know it….we need to let the rest of the world know that America knows it.

Boko Haram, which roughly translated means “Western education is forbidden,” has claimed responsibility for several bombings. In over 40 Northern States of Nigeria, they have forced Islamic Sharia Law onto the defenseless people of the villages there, yet Obama doesn’t see the need to classify them as a terrorist organization. Despite the fact that several of their leaders are designated “Specially Designated Global Terrorists,” Obama sees no threat there. He even went so far as to say that religion is not this group’s motivation.

The group’s stated goals are the disruption of Christianity and implementation of Sharia across the globe, but religion is not seen as a factor by Obama and his obvious brilliance. Remember, he knows “more about foreign policy” than any of his advisors. Despite the fact that after a recent destructive raid on a Christian village in Nigeria, Boko Haram stated that Christians “will not know peace again” until they accept Islam as the one true religion, Obama doesn’t see them as a religiously motivated entity. This man is dangerous.

Obama is out of touch. He’s out of excuses. He’s out of his element. He’s out of his mind. Let’s make sure he’s out of office in November.

As always, thanks for playing!

Part Of The Plan…..

Let his days be few and brief; and let others step forward to replace him.  - Psalm 109:8

Prayer

Late in the summer of 2007, I was a broken man. The marriage that had defined me for so long lay crumbling at my feet and for the first time in my life, I felt completely powerless. There was no fight left in me. I wasn’t even sure who my opponent would be if I did choose to fight. I prayed. I prayed hard, just as many of us do when the pressures of our time on earth seem to weigh more than our frail bones can support. I prayed that God would somehow step in and deliver what my wife and I were seemingly incapable of delivering to each other. I prayed that God would return the love and the admiration that had led us to marriage in the first place.

Photo Jun 26, 11 23 41 AMThat never happened. Our marriage officially ended with the unceremonious rap of a gavel and an abrupt finality only those who have been there can understand. My prayer was answered.

I understand your confusion. I understand why you may be sitting there assuming I just made a typo, but I assure you that I meant what I said. My prayer was answered. See, God doesn’t always answer the prayers that we pray with our mouths because He doesn’t hear those prayers through the ears of a man. In other words, the answers we receive are often not the answers for which we prayed. In my case; I prayed for a reconnection to my wife but what I received was the answer to the prayer I should have been praying. I received freedom from the separate path my life had taken from that of my wife. I was granted a relationship with my son that would not have been possible in the home for which I blindly prayed. God answered my prayers by giving me a home where I had only had a house. I received a love my ex-wife is simply not capable of delivering, and in return I’m able to give the kind of love my ex-wife ran from. The  path I was set upon with the pounding of that gavel is so much better than the one for which I prayed. The life I now live is infinitely better than the one I “lost” yet my prayers were prayed with the self-serving desires of a man.

Our country is in a similar predicament right now. We’re praying for the defeat of Barack Hussein Obama in November. Many of us, myself included, pray for an extremely lopsided statement when the votes are all counted. We pray for the defeat of a man. Obama has become the face of our resentment. He has become the enemy in our prayers of protection. He has become the illness in our prayers of health. He has become the threat in our prayers of safety, but for what are we actually praying? Respect. We’re really praying for respect.

America has been slapped in the face by the popularity contest that has taken over our once great government. We have lost a lot of the respect around the world that once made us so enviable. Our prayers are that the respect once given to the United States by the rest of the globe be restored. We don’t want it to be restored because of our might. We’ve seen where those attempts have gotten us. We don’t want the world to respect us because of our ability to destroy, but rather for our ability to contribute. We pray that the world can once again respect the uniquely American freedom to dream, design, develop, and deliver our ideas through the intense scrutiny of our equally unique free market. We pray that the rest of the world respect our unique history, not at the expense of their own but as a complement to it. We pray that the rest of the world respect our sovereignty and let go of the belief that America is dependent upon them. resolute-desk

We pray that respect for our government be restored, both inside and out. Men and women were once proud to say that they worked for the Federal Government, not embarrassed. I would personally rather tell someone that I get paid to sponge-bathe Ruth Bader Ginsberg than to ever tell them that I work for the GSA, but it wasn’t always  like that. Federal employment can once again become something worthy of pursuit, not a position guaranteed by union loyalty. Obama’s presidency has cast an incredibly bright light on the fact that American politics have become a popularity contest as opposed to the board meeting they should be. The prayers that we are praying are for the defeat of Obama but what we’re really asking for is someone who will respect the office of President of The United States of America more than they respect themselves. We’re praying for someone who will stand in awe of the office. Someone who will treat the office as if it is not his to lose. We want someone who will treat that office as if any disrespect shown to it is disrespect to each and every citizen under its scope, not just to the man sitting behind its Resolute Desk. We’re praying for someone who will wake up every day with a passion and a drive to make America great, regardless of ideology. We’re praying for someone who can truly make the President worthy of respect.

We’re praying that our next President will respect the American people enough to treat them like equals, not underlings or subordinates. We’re praying for a President who respects America’s ability to defeat any failure. One who respects the fact that America’s unique freedom and determination enhance our chances of greatness. We pray for a President who acknowledges our Faith as more than an antiquated tradition and respects the guarantees that Faith provides.

Prayers will be answered in November but the real question is whether or not we will recognize them. Some of those prayers may have already been answered. Are we smart enough to recognize them if they aren’t answered exactly as we prayed? Are we smart enough to realize that Obama is just the face of a much bigger opponent? Can we look past selfish interests, revenge fueled hatred, and ideological indignation long enough to define the often mentioned “greater good.” It’s more than just a clever, emotion sparking catch-phrase. The greater good would have signed off on the Keystone Project. The greater good would not have cared about the American Burying Beetle, and they sure as heck wouldn’t have given away thousands of jobs so that Warren “Buffet-Rule” Buffett could continue transporting oil on his trains as long as Warren “Buffett-Rule” Buffett went out in public saying he wanted to pay more taxes. America deserves better than what we’ve allowed ourselves to become.

The prayer we should all be praying is that we be allowed to show the world we are still worthy of their respect. We should be praying for the chance to live in an America where more pride is taken from the job than the paycheck.

The verse at the beginning of this article prays that “others” will step up and replace “him.” Notice it didn’t say “another” but rather “others.” The prayers God intends to answer will not be done through one man or one candidate. The prayers God intends to answer will be done through ALL of us…..even those who feel as though they have “lost” on November 7th. No matter who sits in the Oval Office, we’re all still Americans and it’s time we start respecting what that means.

As always, thanks for playing…..and praying.

Is There a Pill For That…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

“We have been the forerunners of government. As soon as law and order was established anywhere, we never had any trouble.”  - Doc Holliday

There is something wrong with a man who fails to see any error in his ways after being given countless examples of its unquestioned existence. The most stubborn of men will eventually adapt a more effective line of attack to avoid another failure. It takes a special breed of human to truly seek comfort in failure. To create victory out of defeat. It takes an even more gifted and special man to be able to convince others that his failures are beneficial to them. Unfortunately, I’m not referring to the advertising industry that has done their best to inflate the demand for the Chevy Volt. They were only fulfilling the requirements of a customer. No, I’m referring of course to His Barackness. Our Deceit current President of the United States. Yes, ladies and gents…..there is something wrong with President Barack Hussein Obama. (Please take your time in picking your collective jaws up off the floor.)

All kidding aside, I firmly believe that Barack Obama suffers from Antisocial Personality Disorder and will eloquently and factually outline my case for such a statement in the coming paragraphs. For those who view such a statement as blasphemy against your liberal god, this is probably as good a point as any for us to part ways. Good luck to you.

The staff at Psych Central, the Internet’s largest and oldest independent mental health and psychology network, has put together a nice list of the common signs of antisocial personality disorder, but the chilling part is to see how perfectly the signs describe the man currently sitting in the Oval Office. Here’s a few of the signs and a factual example of how it could be used to describe President Obama.

  • Antisocial Personality Disorder is usually characterized by a long-standing pattern of disregard for other people’s rights, often crossing the line and violating those rights.
    • Despite what he says in public or through his minions, Obama’s signature legislation, which many of us believe will be ruled unconstitutional at some point in the next few months, is a stunning example. The Individual Mandate is a pretty clear sign of a man who holds absolutely no regard for the rights of the individual in this country. He clearly believes that we are too stupid to go on living without his supreme guidance.
  • Lacks empathy – Does anyone out there really believe that Barack Obama could relate to you on a personal level? Honestly? He has gone to great lengths to make us believe that he and Michelle are “just like us” but the truth is that Obama sees our world and our needs and our struggles as somehow beneath him. Barack Obama couldn’t relate to the people of this country on a personal level any more than Clay Aiken could relate to Mike Tyson.
  • Contemptuous of feelings of others – The Contraception Mandate is yet another piercing scream for help from the very fabric of our country. Obama has taken thousands of years of Faith and demanded that we abandon it in favor of his own beliefs. When we refused, he countered with a fictitious “War On Women” and an equally fictitious Sandra Fluke.
  • SafetyInflated and arrogant self appraisal – While some of this may not be the fault of President Obama and more a result of the insulated environment in which the Office of President must be placed, Obama’s arrogance seems to be particularly expanded. This symptom is also highlighted within the infamous Contraception Mandate.
  • Sufferers of Antisocial Personality Disorder lack a realistic concern about their current problems or the future – While Obama’s insulated environment is certainly a contributing factor, it’s not the only contributor. Obama’s arrogance and adherence to proven failure would indicate that his own mind is to blame for many of the problems to which his administration has exposed America.
  • Sufferers may be excessively opinionated, self-assured, or even cocky. Need I say more? Have you ever seen a man that better fit this description than Barack Hussein Obama? I personally don’t believe such a man exists.
  • May display a glib, superficial charm. Again, does this not describe Obama to a tee?

While President Obama certainly falls under the description of several signs of this disorder, the question remains as to whether any actual symptoms can be found in our President. The answer is a resounding “YES!”

  1. Failure to Conform to Social Norms – Obama seems to derive some sort of a thrill from disobeying the law. Not just the written laws in the United States Constitution, but any kind of law, tradition, authority, or opinion that he thinks will force him to contradict to his own ideology. It’s a rush or a high to him.
  2. Deceitfulness – Do I really have to lay out a list here? The guy is a slimy, lawyer-politician-celebrity. He will do anything and say anything to keep himself in power.
    1. Signs of this symptom often include the use of aliases:
      1. Barack Hussein Obama has used the names Harrison J Bounel and Barry Soetoro that we know of. Why? That answer has never been answered. Probably because no one in the news has asked it! (Seriously, do a Google Search of either name. It’s creepy!)
    2. The Buffett Rule – Just today, Obama is out there touting the plight of Warren Buffett’s poor old secretary who pays more in taxes than the billionaire. Notably absent from his speech was any mention of the fact that Buffett is in the middle of an EPIC lawsuit over taxes he has failed to pay in the past. To the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. President Obama either knows about the ongoing lawsuit and is choosing to intentionally mislead us with mention of Buffett’s  name, or he’s blatantly incompetent.
    3. Consistently “Adjusted” Unemployment Numbers – Every month, Obama’s approval numbers avoid total collapse by leaking the truth about the economy to us gradually. The numbers are always “adjusted” or taken from a different “perspective” than used in the past. It’s intentionally confusing,
  3. Impulsivity – A failure to plan ahead.
    1. Could there be a better way to describe Obama’s Presidency? Since ObamaCare will most likely not be around for him to hang the hat of his legacy on, what about the premature withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and the infamous Quran apology? Despite the catastrophic damage this move has delivered to our reputation in the region, it has also left us with very little presence to deal with lunacy in the adjacent countries. We didn’t pull completely out of Germany and it provided a nice, visible, warning sign to Mother Russia. We didn’t withdraw completely from Japan and we have yet to be attacked by China. Why is Obama’s wisdom superior to that of history?
    2. Green Energy Investments – Depending on the day, Obama will be out on the campaign trail inflating the tires of a different lie about the bastard children of he and Energy Secretary Chu. So far, almost everything they’ve touched has turned to bankrupt crap. On a bright side, the executives of these taxpayer funded nightmares are still receiving nice, big bonus checks.
  4. Angry Irritability and Aggressiveness – I’m willing to bet that Michelle has had to clean up after more than one Barack-ian temper tantrum in her day.
  5. Reckless Disregard For the Safety of Self or Others – The man demanded the Chevy Volt. Need I say more? He swears that he’s going to buy one of these mobile crematoriums as soon as he’s “unelected” and that’s a clear example of his disregard for his own safety as well as that of his family. In al seriousness, many of his demands have been met prior to any real testing or research. Companies have gotten caught up in the charm and power. They have delivered under pressure what should have been tested and proven. What about Fast and Furious? Why would Obama defend Eric Holder and the operation that ended the life of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry? Lack of empathy? Disregard for the safety, feelings, and emotions of others? Others he sees as political “enemies.”
  6. Consistent Irresponsibility - “Indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations.”  Anybody care to guess how many vacations Obama has taken since he took office? Your guess would be as good as any since no real number can be found but in the last month I have read reports of the Obama women in Mexico, Vail, and now Vegas. The Obamas have taken numerous trips to Hawaii and justify the $10M of public funds Michelle Obama is accused of spending on top-shelf Vodkas and expensive massages by citing George W Bush’s trips to his ranch in Crawford, Texas. Also, why is Obama not more upset with his democratic counterparts in Congress and the fact that they have yet to pass a budget under his rule? Cards
  7. Lack of Remorse - “As indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.” (Statement will stand on it’s own merit.)

Indeed there is something wrong with President Obama. The likelihood of him ever seeking the advice of a licensed medical professional for the disorder that consumes him is  about as likely as me throwing the winning strike for my World Series Champion Saint Louis Cardinals against the Florida Marlins on Wednesday, but I guess anything could happen. Should I loosen up my throwing arm in case Obama gives us a miracle? Nah, I’ll just continue getting old!

As always, thanks for playing!

The following is an open letter to President Barack Hussein Obama. In it, eight of the accomplishments by which Obama justifies the idea of his reelection are addressed. Read through the letter. If you would like your own copy to print and mail…..please let me know. (JRobertGiles@hotmail.com) At the very least, take the time to share this article with your friends, family, and anyone else who might agree with its content. The election is distracting us from what needs to take place after its dust settles. There will be a LOT of work to do after _______________ is sworn into office but _______________ will not be able to do it on his own. It will take each and every one of us. Enjoy and please share the following letter.

President Barack Hussein Obama

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington D.C. USA

March 14, 2012

Dear President Obama,

While I hold the office to which you were elected to occupy over the last three and a half years in the highest possible regard, I feel that I must question your personal recollections of that time. In fact, I feel as though I would be remiss in the most basic of my civic duties if I were to fail in this essential task. Mr. President, the respect you demand does not come with the simple attainment of title. When your record or ideology is questioned, such action does not equate to weakness, stubbornness, idiocy, small mindedness, or stupidity. In fact, I would submit to you that continued support for failed theory might be more suitable to such labeling. Mr. President, I pray that the man calling himself the leader of MY country would have the courage to address at least a few of the following concerns.

1. You claim that there have been 3.9 million jobs created under your command. (Source: http://www.barackobama.com/record/economy?source=issues-nav) You also claim to have an undying love for all things fair. If we’re being “fair,” shouldn’t we compare your unemployment numbers to the same measures by which your predecessor was held? See, your numbers are based on a labor force that is much smaller than the one by which other President’s have been measured. That’s manipulative and dishonest at best. On January 1, 2009 the labor force was estimated at 142,187,000. (Dept. of Labor). Last month, that number stood at 142,065,000. (Also, Dept. of Labor). So the labor force has shrunk under your command? Unlikely. Meanwhile, the population has increased by over 8 million people. (Census Bureau) How does one go up so significantly but the other decreases? It wouldn’t have anything to do with a President who is terrified of revealing true and accurate employment numbers in an election year, would it? You know the numbers will be revealed eventually, right? You’re not saving your legacy; you’re covering up its decay with temporary patchwork.

2. You say that we must “out-educate” the rest of the world, yet your education policies have favored only the unions to which you owe personal loyalty. Mr. President, your personal loyalties are very different from those of a real parent. You’re not a real parent in that your children will be safe, secure, and accepted for the rest of their lives. That most common of parental worry has been removed from your horizon. Those of us who live out here in that vast world beyond your ideology have very different loyalties and aspirations for our children. You dictate how, where, and when my children should learn yet you wouldn’t dare send your own daughters to a school run by the unions with whom you enjoy a reciprocal relationship. Give us the choice, Mr. President. Let us “out-educate” the rest of the world. The ones with whom we must compete do not have to overcome heavy-handed union interference.

3. You claim victory in the “agreements” you made with American auto-makers, yet there is no mention in that announcement of the mammoth failures entwined within the web of those so-called victories. We need jobs and lower gas prices, Mr. President. We’re hurting. The people for whom you were elected to provide leadership are hurting and your stance is that we need to be more patient and wait to see your brilliance unfold. Well, sir…..with all due respect…..your fairy-tale ideas are pure, unadulterated, hogwash. Nobody wants a Chevy Volt. Americans are notoriously adventurous, but those things are a little bit too much of a gamble. Plus, as Newt Gingrich so eloquently noted; “you can’t put a gun-rack in a Volt!” Stop pushing your ideals down our throats. We’ll get there. We’ll one day realize your dreams of battery operated cars, but only after the vehicles themselves have survived the strict filters of public demand and opinion, not when a President loyal only to liberal orthodoxy dictates it to be so. Offshore drilling has decreased by 53% during your time in office and your answer is algae? Is that what Ted Kennedy was doing in 1969? Was he working on the Chevy Chappaquiddick? You promise an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy, but as is so often the case, your actions contradict your promises. Keystone would have brought with it jobs, oil, and independence yet you struck it down for political reasons. North Dakota has enough oil to export and bring in trillions of dollars to offset your reckless spending, yet you ignore their success because it came in spite of your restrictions and overbearing regulations.

4. Mr. President, you have chosen to make “Equal Rights” one of your biggest issues, yet your definition of ‘equal’ is a bit skewed. You say you have “taken steps to level the playing field so that everybody plays by the same rules.” Sir, isn’t that kind of like saying that Tonya Harding was trying to “level the playing field” with Nancy Kerrigan? You see, everybody is NOT equal. In order for America to succeed, competition must filter out the weak. The NFL would not exist if everyone in the country was given playing time. Limitations must be accepted and taken into consideration. Otherwise, we’re left with even more entitled little snots living in tents, pooping in our streets, disrupting commerce, and demanding the fruits of another man’s labor. Your idea of a “level playing field” did not work for Russia and it will never work in a free America.

5. You claim success in the Affordable Care Act. The fact that you continue to call it the “Affordable Care Act” tells us just how far out of touch with our reality you have actually become. It’s ObamaCare and it is socialism. Plain and simple. My health is my business, not yours. What I eat is my business, not Michelle’s. If I want to pay for contraceptives, I’ll do so. I will buy MY OWN contraceptives. I will not ask anyone else to do it for me and I will NEVER accept your assertion that my Church should bend to your will. The Church will always be stronger than your earthly ideology, Mr. President. You say that ObamaCare will reduce costs to millions of Americans but you refuse to release real premium estimates until after the election. Now why would you do that? It wouldn’t be because the atrociously high costs of your “affordable” health coverage would all but guarantee your defeat in November, would it?

6. You claim victories in the area of National Security, yet the victories are not yours to claim. The victories you claim are like New York Giants fans saying “We” won the Super Bowl. You were there in an official capacity, sure, but the victories came with the risk, blood, and sacrifice of men with bravery you couldn’t summon with voodoo and a certified witch doctor. You can’t claim victory and apologize to an enemy in the same breath. You can’t claim victory but skulk away from the responsibility and accountability when it comes to a man with serious psychological issues being sent into a combustible scenario. Those things happened under your watch too. The victories you claim were made possible by the efforts of others. You have some good ideas for streamlining the United States Military, but the way you’re going about it is reckless. You don’t ask our military to pay more for their benefits and then provide the Gitmo detainees with a $750,000, taxpayer funded soccer field. By the way, didn’t you campaign on the absolute promise to close Gitmo in 2008? How’s that promise working out for us?

7. Your stance on taxes is based in more ideology. This idea of a level playing field is not the reality that a free-market system supports. In free-markets, demand and creativity drive profits. No matter what your advisors tell you, you do not have the right to dictate when a company has made “too much money.” It doesn’t matter how strongly you may disagree with the product, services, or governing policies of that company…..their profits should only be limited by the market to which their product appeals. Again, that appeal and demand will come from the free will of the American people, not regulations and snide remarks about those who have worked their butts off to attain the wealth you yourself hide from your loyal Obamunists. You are NOT a poor working citizen, Mr. Soetero. You are Barack Hussein Obama. You are rumored to be looking to personally purchase the home once owned by Katherine Hepburn for $18 million. How many of those “middle class” families do you think can relate to that plight? Rumors like that don’t get started around us “regular folks.”

8. Lastly, we receive word this morning that, under your command, the US Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a permit to the Northern Arapahoe tribe of Wyoming to “hunt and kill two American Bald Eagles as part of their religious freedom. Sir, I will spare you the pain of having to read all the myriad Fluke-ing contradictions contained within that statement and simply ask you a question: Can you imagine the backlash a Republican President would receive for such actions? Is that a “level playing field?”

Thank you for your time and consideration, Mr. President. I will anxiously await your response. I sincerely hope that you can read this message through the eyes of the people you have sworn to protect and the history you have been asked to preserve. To attack this message through the eyes of your own personal agenda would only highlight your inability to connect with those of us suffering under your command.

Sincerely,

The American People

“The world is not fair, and often fools, cowards, liars and the selfish hide in high places.”  - Bryant H McGill

I know this is a bit of a dated reference, but think back to the movie A Few Good Men with Tom “Starship-Crazy” Cruise and Jack Nicholson. Aside from the obvious problems Colonel Jessup that would be present in a reality where Jack Nicholson was in charge of Gitmo, the movie does bear a striking resemblance to the world in which we now find ourselves. Remember how scared the two Marines standing trial became when they were forced to accept the fact that those who outranked them were far less loyal to the Corps and it’s principals than they were? They were terrified, yet they still acted in accordance with the laws of “their corps.”

That’s a loyalty and a bond that only those who have served will ever truly understand and even many of those simply enjoy it without understanding. The actors who played the roles of the two Marines in the film were allowed to go home and enjoy the fruits of their terrific performances. The five soldiers who were recently discovered to have been involved in the accidental burning of Qurans in Afghanistan are not afforded such luxuries. Reuters reports that senior clerics in Afghanistan, speaking in statements made via Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s office, have said that “U.S. apologies will never be accepted. Those who committed this crime must be publicly tried and punished.” Now, I don’t know about you, but I just have a really hard time imagining our boys getting any form of “innocent until proven guilty” in an Afghan courtroom. Does that make me racist? I don’t really care any more.

Can you imagine being one of the five soldiers involved? You’ve seen the spotty videos of the throbbing crowds all over the dusty, dirty, primitive country….imagine being the one they are all mad at. Really try to picture the emotions you would be going through today. Luckily, our military has trained away a lot of the fears a normal American would be feeling, but do you honestly believe that you would be courageously confident if your feet were stuffed into the dusty, worn combat boots of one of those five soldiers? I think even great writers like Thor, Baldacci, and Flynn would have a tough time guiding their famed characters through the maze of the fear that must be going through the minds of those soldiers. They hear the throngs of rioters outside the gates of their bases. They see the increased level of alert on the faces of their brothers. They hear the reports of soldiers dying as a result of their unintentional actions but they don’t get any reprieve. Can you imagine being in their shoes? Now, can you imagine being in their shoes and believing that the executive level of United States Government cares about you? The libs will say that I’m just being hateful, or racist, or unfair, or a right-wing nutjob, or any of the other clever names they throw at us to avoid discussing anything that makes the Immaculated One look bad but the fact is that they are defending Barack Hussein Obama from the comfort of their climate controlled homes, in the safety of their own familiar They Deserve Bettergeography, with a significantly fewer number of rioting Muslims outside the borders of their neighborhoods. Those who say Barack Obama was right to apologize are simply wrong. Obama’s apology has fueled the mobs. His apology has emboldened the Muslim world and they now believe that we will just hand over our soldiers to be tried in their primitive, hateful, version of justice. This cannot be allowed to happen.

For too long our military has been asked to carry out the missions politics won’t permit. Obama is the commander of the military yet when their actions offend, or in some way hurt those who support campaign, he can’t distance himself fast enough. Our military deserves better. Our military deserves leaders who suffer right alongside them and look for solutions that keep America first, not poll numbers. I’m assuming that the soldiers receiving the brunt of the backlash for this accident are not above the rank of  Lieutenant. They are most likely E-4’s or lower. At that pay-grade, in an already hostile environment, orders are not questioned. Orders are followed regardless of how it may look. A commanding officer tells you to incinerate a pile of books, you don’t look through the pile of books and take out the ones you think might be in there by mistake! Should the Qurans have been spared? Sure. Should the prisoners at Parwan Detention Facility be allowed to use the Qurans provided to them by US Taxpayers to communicate their handwritten extremist messages but then cry foul when someone else desecrates it? I for one could not be more sick of hearing about our soldiers dying in the name of protecting Muslim sensitivities. I’m willing to bet there were a few Bibles burned in the World Trade Center. Anybody ever apologize to us for that? Had there been a pile of Bibles on any of the planes used in the cowardly acts of September 11, 2001; would they have landed the planes out of respect for Christianity?

We discuss politics and poll numbers while our soldiers stare down the enemy wondering if they will be forced to pull their trigger. We Reagans at Arlingtonenact laws that support the needs of the most vocal and well represented - soldiers defend our right to do so. We worry about the price of gas while they sleep in a hole in the dirt. We stand silently by as our President apologizes before an investigation has even concluded. We apologize for accidentally burning a pile of discarded rubbish seized from prisoners, yet our soldiers are forced to standby and watch as the American Flag is burned daily. I understand that the Quran is their Holy Book, but as liberals love to point out, the United States is NOT a Church-state. In our country, the flag is just as important as the Quran is to them. Especially among the military. I have absolutely zero respect for our current President but I will get down on a knee and pray to the one true God that Barack Hussein Obama respects the military enough to fight tooth and nail to avoid an Afghan trial. Any of those five soldiers would take a bullet to protect the President. Not to protect Barack Hussein Obama,  but to protect the United States President. There’s a BIG difference. It’s a difference that those soldiers most assuredly understand but one that seems to elude the logic of Papa Barry.

If you were stuck behind those walls, would you feel confident that Barack Obama cares more about you than his own campaign? Honestly? Our military deserves better. Our military deserves the respect of their President and their country; not disdain and abandonment in the face of political pressure. Our military deserves the same humble integrity from those they protect as they demand of themselves. Our military deserves a President who sheds tears over the names of each and every fallen soldier, not one that recites their numbers only when it adds impact to a speech.

As always, thanks for playing and have a great weekend.

Ignorant Apology Ignored….

@JRobertGiles

“Being ignorant is not so much a shame as being unwilling to learn.”  - Benjamin Franklin

Sometimes all it takes is that one microsecond to change your entire outlook. Sometimes it’s a much longer, drawn out process. Sometimes your fortunes change from good to  bad. Those are the changes that usually occur in an instant, and often seem to have devastating impact. A car accident happens in just a fraction of a second but can have multiple effects on the futures of multiple lives. The changes that go from bad to good are the ones that take a little longer Tipping Pointto develop. The process that is required of a transition from bad to good is a journey. Along the way, challenges are met, lessons are learned, losses are suffered, and experience is gained. These moments unite to insure the sweetness of individual victory. Occasionally, the victory is shared, but the ensuing emotions are always processed individually. I think we’re on the verge of a big, shared victory but there are a few steps taken in our collective pasts that require further review. It’s been a long journey, but one we must understand before we can truly utilize the gift of it’s victory.

The Quran burning incident that occurred in Afghanistan recently is unfortunate, but quite frankly does not deserve the attention it has received. Yes, I understand that the Quran is the Holy Book of the Muslims and that burning it is strictly forbidden in their part of the world. Shouldn’t have happened, but please bare in mind that these particular Qurans were part of the library at the Parwan Detention Facility at Bagram Air Base Afghanistan. That library, according to Brigadier General Carsten Jacobsen, had been ordered destroyed because enemy inmates had filled the books with handwritten extremist messages. A secret communication system that could have easily resulted in violent insurgence within the perimeters of the base. Do you inspect each piece of garbage before tossing the bag into the dumpster? No, you do not. This was an unfortunate mistake but it was certainly NOT one deserving of a Presidential apology. The apology from NATO was plenty. The main thing Obama did by apologizing was fuel their already burning desire to see us all dead. President Karzai of Afghanistan, whom I believe should feel a bit of gratitude to the United States and our soldiers , responds that the soldiers who burned the Qurans should be put on trial in Afghanistan. That, quite frankly, is just not an option…..is it? What do you say, Barack Hussein Obama? Is it an option in your mind to allow men who were following indirect orders from you, to stand trial in a country run by men who hate everything those soldiers represent? As cowardly as that would seem, that’s essentially the impression his apology gave.

Why do Muslims hate us though? Our intentions are noble, for the most part. Of course there’s a little bit of greed involved, but despite what the left may say, the majority of Hatredthe money made in the energy industry is reinvested in the form of research and progress. So why the hatred? The answer, as painful as it may be to hear, may just be that tipping point that completes our transition from bad to good as a country. Muslims do in fact hate the United States. That statement would normally draw a defensive ire in  me that left me feeling a bit racist. How dare they hate America? Just who the heck do they think they are?

Well, here’s who they are. They’re a very insulated people. Their world revolves around religion but that religion is a very different one from the one America claims to be “under.” For the most part, a Muslim’s understanding of Christianity is as limited as your knowledge of Islam. I’ll admit, my view of Islam is through Christian-tinted glasses. I have seen their faith as contradictory to my own, but further study reveals that the divide in our beliefs is not always as wide as previously thought. In many instances, the divide between Christians and Muslims is the widest space in the known universe, but at times, there are striking similarities.  The wars, and the disgust with one another’s faith comes not from the teachings of either religion, but rather from man’s interpretations of those teachings. It’s those interpretations that so often cause social upheaval, violence, and global outrage. As much as it absolutely disgusts me to say it, Muslims are simply following the orders of Allah when they infiltrate and attack the United States. Before you shoot your computer to get rid of my blasphemous words, hear me out…..Islam teaches that there should be no hatred for “those who worship God.”  The Quran tells them that murder and stealing is wrong but the difference is that the Quran only believes it’s wrong if done to another Muslim. Their faith teaches them that we are “unbelievers” and therefore not protected. In their Islam-shaded eyes,  the United States looks exactly as the Quran warns them the “Great Satan” would look. Both the Holy Bible and the Quran condemn abortion, yet the laws of the United Sates support the act. Both the Holy Bible and the Quran teach that God is the creator of the universe yet evolution is taught and seemingly accepted here. The Bible and the Quran teach chastity, yet we flood the planet with pornography, indecency, and a steady diet of wardrobe malfunctions. The Bible and the Quran mutually condemn gambling, drunkenness, and the occult yet here in the good ol’ USA we have casinos, the lottery, Las Vegas, a beer commercial every 7 minutes, horoscopes, and Halloween. Let’s face it, that’s how they see us. We’re all drunk pornstars, dining from a witch’s cauldron while warming our opulent homes with burning money. A law known as Jizya, in the Islamic Faith commands Muslims to forcefully take the property of “unbelievers” as a tribute to Allah. To them, we are a nation of “unbelievers.”

I think most of us would agree that a sharp turn back toward the moral center might do this country some good but I don’t believe such a course correction should be done  simply to avoid cowardly acts of terrorists. Such an act should be done because we ARE “one nation, Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Whether you worship in Church or just step aside and quietly support those who do, we have got to get our act together. Right now, our laws favor Muslims more than Americans in some Right Turncases and they are finding new ways to exploit our moral absence. We ARE a Christian nation because the alternative is unacceptable. Support that idea or we may just pack you onto a boat and send you over to them so that you may enjoy their kind of religious freedom. Got it?

That may seem like I am saying we should bow to the commands of the extremists who use beheadings, bombings, killing of soldiers, kidnappings, sabotage, and corruption as a form of religious expression but I assure you I am not. I pointed out the problems the Muslims have with the United States, but notice I did not say they were problems with Christianity. We need to make a course correction because it is the right thing to do, not because the word of Allah has any bearing whatsoever in my life or any of the lives of people I love. As much as the Muslims may believe we are a Godless country because we don’t gut adulterous women in the streets, or follow the letter of our Scriptures….there is and always will be one key factor that they truly misunderstand. Their faith requires constant acts to earn the love and approval of their God. Christians are already forgiven for any sin they have committed, and every sin they ever will commit. Yes, our morals could use a fine-tuning, but to say that we are a Godless country is not their call to make. It’s time to close off loopholes that are allowing an all out invasion. They don’t have to approve of our faith but they are sure as hell not going to be allowed to use it against me, in my own home. Our religion provides freedoms they will never understand and our Constitution provides even more but both must be defended. Religious ignorance is not the weapon that will defeat us unless we allow it to be.

So, is this election the launch of that transition from bad to good? Has the Obama administration been the journey through bad times that we all hope it will be? I sure hope so. America is starting to realize that our President is only as capable as we demand of him. When we elect a constantly campaigning, salesman….we shouldn’t be surprised when that’s exactly how he runs the country. It’s time to demand better. It’s time to be better. All of us. The Constitution of the United States does not require anyone to be a Christian. In fact, it does quite the opposite. It goes out of the way to make sure that all faiths have a home within the borders of this great country. That doesn’t mean you can have it both ways though. If you come to this country, for any reason, you obey the laws AND the customs of the United States. Not the other way around. We do not transform our laws to support your customs and you do not get to invoke your customs to save you from punishment in our country. You may have read that you are allowed to take the property of “unbelievers” but I doubt very seriously your Jizya will be able to withstand the blast of my 2nd Amendment Rights! We’re not all pornstars and we’re not all drunk. What we are is forgiven. That means that your permission or the permission of your faith is not required nor sought.

As always, thanks for playing!

You’re Grounded…

“Humility and knowledge in poor clothes excel pride and ignorance in costly attire.”  - William Penn

What keeps you humble? What is it within your brain that allows you to defend against the inevitable embarrassment that would surely come from exposing the majority of the half-baked plans, ideas, and decisions that pop into your head throughout each and every day? It’s humility. It’s the fact that we are not insulated like we were when we were DSCN1655kids. Last night, I had the distinct privilege to be slapped across the face with a bit of reality that had somehow gone unnoticed in my own life. Unnoticed may be a bit harsh. Perhaps…..”selectively ignored” would be a better way to describe my flight from the reality that my beautiful Jackie and my terrific kids are what keep me grounded.

That may seem like simple and quite common sense to most of you, but allow me to explain. Last night, my seven year old son, Aidan took part in his school’s Black History Night. While the majority of the kids in his school are not black, the event was organized in such a way that skin color was not the accomplishment being celebrated. The celebration was about the accomplishments of the  women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. All of the expected clichés were used to make the correlation between the quilts made by the freed slaves of Gee’s Bend and the diversity of our nation today, but the kids themselves, at least the younger ones like Aidan, couldn’t have cared less about any of that. Last night’s performance was an undeniable example of the fact that racism is something taught. The kids on that stage were untainted by the stresses and temptations of adulthood. Their world is insulated by their limited exposure and the result is unbridled happiness. They have yet to experience the  concept of prejudice, so they sing happily with all of their friends. They could care less about subjects like net worth or income levels, so they laugh with all of their friends. Sadly, the majority of the stress they feel in their young lives is the direct result of parental deflection, so they find comfort in all of their friends.

Unfortunately, we are not afforded the same luxuries of innocence in adulthood. We must face challenges that simply can’t be confronted with childish ideology. Consider anything that requires a minimum age for participation as proof of this fact. Drinking requires an attained age of 21. Voting requires an age of 18 (but proving it is apparently up for debate) as does military service. Driving calls for an attained age of 16, generally speaking. These age restrictions were put in place for a reason. It was the general consensus that unless you had reached the specified age, the emotional, physical. or intellectual requirements of these tasks  would simply be too daunting.

What we have allowed to happen, instead of facing the challenges as a family, is that we have changed the challenges. We have pretended that they don’t exist by putting limitations on our children. Competition is too hard for one kid so instead of encouraging him to work harder or to pursue those things for which his abilities will allow him to excel, we change the rules to accommodate the weak. Those kids grow up to demand what is not realistically theirs. (i.e. Occupy Anything) We thought we were protecting them, but instead we were rendering them incapable of performing in the world that awaited them. How can you be grounded when reality delivers the exact opposite of what you were promised?

Our politicians, celebrities, and pro-athletes are a lot like those insulated kids. They live in worlds where the only opinions they hear are the ones that will make them happy. TonyRomo Anyone who is famous, regardless of reason, is insulated. Do you really believe that Obama surrounds himself with people who will tell him “gee, Mr. President; I don’t really know if stubbornly ignorant is the way to go on this one.” or do you think he’s surrounded by a nest of little, yelping, Carneys who blindly support any decision he makes? Do you think anyone has had enough courage to tell Nancy Pelosi that her patented “I think I just farted” look is starting to greatly reduce the effectiveness of all that plastic surgery? No! Of course not. These people are surrounded only by those who will tell them what they want to hear. That’s not how a team works. A team wins and loses as a unit. If the NFL was run like American Politics, Tony Romo would be allowed to believe that he has won six Lombardi trophies and was the MVP of eight different Super Bowls, two of which he was awarded while in High School. No, a team requires preparation for battle with a common enemy. Each member of the team is assigned a position and prepares so that their contribution will lead to overall victory. When inevitable defeat smacks the team around a bit, they heal together and they prepare for the next battle with the added advantage of having learned the indelible lessons imparted only in defeat.

Compare that to the world in which Barack Hussein Obama  lives. Every decision he makes is made only after consulting with several public opinion polls first. He’s basically spoon fed his opinions by those with which he chooses to surround himself. In that regard, he can never be truly grounded the way a man who is part of a real team will be grounded. A real team accepts defeat as an opportunity to improve. Obama accepts defeat as someone else’s mistake.  He lives his entire life trying to be the man the latest polls tell him he should be. He’s left, like so many others who never figure out how to stick to their convictions, without an identity. He’s left, for lack of a better comparison, like the grown up version of those kids on that stage last night. Happily ignorant of the real world around them. Obama is fed only the information that will support the agenda of those who provide his platform. That’s only half the reality of the country he’s asked to lead. Guess what, Mr. President….Romo hasn’t won a single Super Bowl and your record is not nearly as impressive as your teleprompter would have you believe.

We, as a people, need to remain just as grounded and faithful as those kids on that stage last night. They found themselves shielded from the frightening reality of public speaking by the strength of their innocence. We must resolve to have that kind of faith in our position as conservative, Christian, right-wing, red-state, God-fearing, Church-loving, breeding, patriots and stand together in the face of twisted polls, veiled promises, and outright deceit that is surely coming our way over the next 8 months. Obama will continue his chameleon game, shifting his shape and political color to fit the latest demand of him. We cannot be that way. We must remain steadfast in our belief that if Obama’s given another four years, this country will be nothing more than a final exam question in a future History class.

As always, thanks for playing and have a great weekend!

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”   - George Orwell

I can always tell how well one of my articles is doing by the number of hateful responses and e-mails I get from liberal “intellects.” Yesterday’s article about Obama’s attack on Deceit religion seemed to hit home for a few of them. That shouldn’t come as a surprise. There are a lot of people in the world with which we surround ourselves who are really struggling to defend the Immaculated One right now. We must strike while that iron is hot. Here’s a few things we should try to point out to all those liberals still clinging to the hype.

The always entertaining and perpetually surprised Nancy Pelosi has apparently opened her giant eyes long enough to read a new book she believes to contain lessons we all need to learn. The book was written by the always “fair” and always “wrong” Bill Press and it’s called The Obama Hate Machine. (Sorry, Bill….I just don’t have room in my online store for your book.) In this book, Mr. Press asserts that all presidents are due some level of vetting but the “personal attacks” against Barack Hussein Obama have gone too far. If you’re noticing a pattern here it’s because every time someone disagrees with liberal ideology, they call it “hate” or a “personal attack.” Banished are words and Unemployed phrases like “it’s the truth” or “factually.” Pelosi herself has come out and said that “in a poisoned political climate, negative personal attacks on President Obama must have no place in public discourse.” Seriously, Nancy? I don’t even know where to start. Are we supposed to just forget that she has personally attacked anybody who has ever looked at her funny. I heard that Pelosi once made a child slaughter her own puppy because the puppy “looked Republican.” As ridiculous as that statement may sound, it’s ever bit as credible as anything to come out of Nancy Pelosi's mouth in the last three years. Why is it that Barack Obama is beyond reproach in the eyes of the liberals? Why are we not allowed to disagree with this man, or continue to ask questions until answers are given but the left is encouraged to keep the whole “Bush lost in 2000” cow-patty baking in the nurturing glow of our attention? When we ask a question about Obama’s performance as Commander in Chief, why is it always answered with misinterpreted data about the Bush Presidency? We’re not asking you to recite Bush’s record…..we’re asking you to defend your own? Can you do that? Can you do it without resorting to childish tantrums and wildly inaccurate accusations? Can you do it without sounding arrogantly uninformed? Try it. I dare you. We all dare you. All those people that you fear are staring at you as you “proudly” wear your 99% garb and sit in Starbuck’s griping about corporate greed via your iPad……they’re all tired of your nonsense. They’re all waiting for you to wake up and realize that we are no longer interested in serving your fairy tale version of OUR future. Sit down and shut up.

Another topic being swept under the rug with the assistance of liberal media is the so called “adjustments” to the unemployment numbers. Again, if you dare to bring this up in public, the liberals will attack. They will start screeching like excited little tree monkeys about Bush’s record. They scream really loudly and annoyingly so that you quickly Gas Pricesabandon your argument and run away. That way they can call it a victory but all they did was perpetuate the failure of their Democrat Deity. We receive word from Gallup Polls that the January unemployment numbers are “adjusted seasonally” but are expected to worsen when the government releases it’s numbers for February in March. Don’t you worry though, between now and then the media will most assuredly give all the teat-dependent progressives all the data they need to prove that this too is somehow Bush’s fault or better yet the “Republican Congress” to which they so often point.

We’re not allowed to call the Contraception Mandate an attack on religious freedoms. To suggest that Obama telling Insurance Companies that they must provide abortifacients and other forms of birth control, for free, to a group that has been adamantly and publicly against such practices for decades, is arrogantly dismissed as the ravings of a zealot. Tell a Catholic that they have to start providing insurance to their employees in which abortions are covered is in no way an attack on religion but accidentally set fire to a few Qur’an’s and military policy and training must immediately be changed. Apologies must be delivered swiftly. I’m called a “bible-thumper” for sticking up for my own impenetrable Faith, but no one questions the motives of the Muslims when they get a little worked up. Can anyone legitimately explain why that seems to be acceptable? We are allowed religious freedom in this country. That means we have the right to practice the religion of our choosing when, where, and how our faith commands. Christianity was the chosen religion of the men who wrote that law, but nowhere did they say “you must be a Christian.” We’re not demanding that Obama name  Christianity as the Official Religion of the United States. I’m sick of that argument. What we are demanding is that Obama and his Constitutionally ignorant health-care bill refrain from making any demands that would require ANY religion to go against their stated tradition, rule, or practice. Got it, left-wingers? Your license to spew nonsense has just been revoked. We value religion in our presidents because of the inherent discipline required of true Faith. Regardless of what I think of Mormons, I know for a fact that Mitt Romney applies more self-discipline to his life than Barack Obama because of his sincere faith. Same goes for Santorum. Obama attempts to mold his Faith to fit his ideological needs and he fails to see that this is exactly the reason his mandate has been greeted with such revolt. What he has done, albeit unintentionally, is to unite all Christian Faiths in America. Thanks for that, Barry.

Chevy VoltGas prices are getting too out of hand for established Obama rhetoric to contain. In the coming weeks he will be speaking at several events designed to convince us that his administration has done everything they can to “expand domestic exploration and development of alternative fuel sources to combat cyclical spikes in gas prices.” You hear that folks? It has nothing to do with failed investments or weakened foreign policy. It has nothing to do with unfettered lunacy in Iran. It’s all just cyclical, so settle down.  Let’s look at the facts of just one of Obama’s “alternative fuel source exploration” plans and how it worked out, shall we? Obama signed the check for the auto bailout designed by George W. Bush after he had the opportunity to add several of his own self-serving, ideological, caveats to the document itself. During his rule of the American Auto Industry, Obama demanded the production of the Chevy Volt and gave hundreds of millions of OUR dollars to companies that would build the components for this bold yet forced venture. What did we factually receive for that enormous investment? Chrysler is now owned in Italy…..GM is performing only slightly better than Ford who did not take any bailout funds…..A123 Systems and Ener1 who both received HUGE loans as part of the energy department’s loan bonanza are now in bankruptcy…..and the Chevy Volt which can’t seem to stay flame-free, is now the center of a taxpayer funded Congressional Investigation. Jobs were supposed to flock to these mechanisms of liberal orthodoxy but instead, our “adjusted” unemployment rate now looks to be a whole 1.4 percentage points WORSE than it was when he took office. Go ahead, liberals…..call me a liar.

We are not the ones passing meaningless laws to aide in future arguments. We are not the ones forcing ideology where free-market competition is needed. We are not covering our mistakes with your money.

As always, thanks for playing.
