The driver’s side wheels of our country are racing along the quickly eroding edge of a cliff. It’s time to jerk the wheel to the right before we Sheen ourselves. Many of us have noticed, over the past few weeks, that Obama seems to be probing us. He seems to be poking around at our exposed areas, trying to find points of weakness. The Department of Health and Human Services debacle of last week…..the ensuing “compromise” that is almost more insulting than the original mandate….the steaming pile of budget that he hurled at us this morning. Barack Hussein Obama and his Alliance of Failure are doing everything they can to implement as many of their failed ideas as possible before November. This would appear to be a sign that they have at least acknowledged the possibility of defeat in November. In fact, I would go so far as to say that his recent actions clearly confess the fact that Obama is beginning to feel the walls closing in on him.

Don’t be fooled by the confident smirk on his face as he pitches the benefits of this politically charged, gimmick riddled, designed to fail budget. Don’t believe the numbers his supporters like Chief of Staff Jacob Lew spew out at us. No sir. It does NOT require 60 votes to pass a budget, it requires 50 and you should know that if I do! Democrats have enough votes to pass a budget if passing the budget was an actual goal. It is not. Do not be fooled. Do not listen to the forthcoming hogwash about Lew meaning that it takes 60 votes to break a filibuster, and other such nonsense. That is not what he said. This budget, just like so many of the jobs bills proposed recently, are designed to be politically advantageous to the Obama administration in their intended failure. As a safety measure, why don’t we just go ahead and assume that every single carefully scripted word that comes from the mouth of Barack Hussein Obama is designed to give him some sort of vague point of reference in a future speech, ad, or negotiation. “C’Mon guys, you know, I tried to help y’all out back in February but you shot down my budget.” It will be factually true, but carefully void of details that we won’t be able to recall unless we keep the facts readily accessible in our minds. Obama’s manipulations do not make his supporters “stupid” or “weak.” It simply means that he is very good at what he does. We must counter his voice in this election. He’s counting on the ridiculously limited attention span of each and every one of us. That’s each and every one of us individually. That’s how Obama and the left see their roles in American Politics. They see themselves as ambassadors of individual citizens instead of guardians of the country. They see the buildings in which their offices are held as their own instead of graciously donated space. Their policies and decisions help the vocal few while destroying the integrity of the United States, domestically and globally.

Obama’s attempts will be relentless. The contraception mandate and this debt raising, job destroying budget he coiled onto the carpet of the voting public this morning are just the beginning. Every action between now and November 6, 2012 is designed to ignite a future passion in his loyal armies. We can extinguish that passion but it will require the relentless effort of each and every one of us. Our counter-measures must be immediate and devastating. Yes, the election is important. Not only the Presidential Election but the 2014 Congressional Elections as well. Those are important, but their importance pales in comparison to the unified front we must present in response to Obama’s onslaught of deceit. No matter who we nominate, if elected, will be an improvement over Obama. I don’t think anyone will sincerely oppose that statement. Yes, I believe Gingrich would wipe the floor with Obama in a debate and I would love to see it, but more than that, I would love to see how many people I can get to vote (R) in this election who voted (INCORRECT) in the last one. He dares to propose a budget that includes $800 million dollars of our money going to help “Arab countries rocked by revolution.” Hey, Barry: You could instead send roughly $2.57 to every single American to aid us in recovering from your presidency. You could put that money back in the Solyndra, A123 Systems, Ener1, Loan Debacle Pile. Stop sending our money to people who don’t want, appreciate, or deserve it. Leave it at home where it can help the people you were elected to lead and protect. Get your responses out there immediately and don’t stop screaming them until this man calls in sick on election day. Scream it! Jerk the wheel!

Confront every form of leftist thought that has managed to invade your life. Indoctrination has begun and it won’t take you long to look around your family and admit evidence of such. Jerk the wheel back to the right. Has it been a while since you attended Church? Get in there and get your head right. Do you feel yourself getting increasingly disgusted with what’s considered acceptable TV? Stop watching. Jerk the wheel to the right. Our unified voice is growing and we simply cannot afford to have it silenced. We must take advantage of their weaknesses just as they are trying to do with our own. They throw a “Bush’s fault” at us and we waste time defending history instead of watching them sneak another failure past us. Jerk the wheel to the right. So much of what is thought in this country is sadly based upon what’s “popular” or “trending.” We gripe about this fact all the time. We cry out to the heavens for answers and explanations as to the celebrity and fortune of all Kardashians, yet we have done nothing to take advantage of the exposed weakness therein. Thought is driven by what’s popular, so change what’s popular. Stand firm in your convictions and don’t run from those who disagree. Without the power of popular thought, Obama’s record destroys him. There are others who believe as you do. There are others who believe as you do within earshot of whatever argument you may face. Just because the left has managed to be louder doesn’t mean they win. Obama declares his own opinion to be more relevant than that of the Church; take his blasphemous ass to task. (Sorry, Mom & Dad. It enrages me and I will happily accept your guidance back to sanity later!) Whatever or whoever Obama attacks, support them. Whoever he supports, tear them down. Whenever his argument lacks truth, expose the lie. When he attempts to erase his mistakes with more of our money, explain to those who support such nonsense that they are actually being robbed by the man promising them their “fair share” of free stuff. Keep explaining until you see that light in their eyes register the fact that they have “switched sides” and then send them out to do the same to another misguided soul.

How are we going to defeat the carefully scripted, well funded, political machine that is the Obama Administration? Together. That’s how. We will stand together and we will inspire those who only “want” to believe in Obama’s promises that he can’t possibly deliver on them. We will cut him off at his sneaky little passes. When he claims that we voted down his budget, we will remember the facts surrounding that decision. He’s calling us all “stupid” by assuming that we won’t be able to recall such information by the time he manipulates the facts in an ad or speech. He’s assuming that we’re all too “easily distracted” or just flat-out “weak” to recognize his plots against us. Not only will we remember the facts but we will begin reciting them immediately, relentlessly, and so loudly that they are impossible to ignore. Obama will then flip-flop and “accommodate” us because it’s what’s popular. It will eventually become apparent to those not blindly loyal to a skin color or party that Obama stands for nothing but that which will benefit him and him alone. Men like that are always left exposed, begging, and grasping at power they never really had. Don’t get caught looking at the designed distractions…..stay on point. Ignore conspiracy and focus on truth. There is enough of it to insure his defeat if we stand united, unbreakable, and undeniably resolute. We the people.

Quietly Staying On Point…

No longer is the race for the 2012 GOP Nomination being run by just two men. Yesterday, Rick Santorum had the kind of day many would consider to be a “good day".” He won all three of the caucuses held. Santorum defeated Romney in Colorado where several polls showed the latter enjoying a considerable lead as recently as Sunday. He won Minnesota which is still trying to prove it’s sanity despite the existence of Senator Al Franken (D-MN). And he won here in Missouri in a “non-binding” primary.

Who is he though? We all knew he was so much more than just a sweater-vest, but why should we vote for him? I made a case for Mitt Romney when he won Iowa. I made a case for Newt Gingrich when he won South Carolina. Here is the case for Rick Santorum. Santorum was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1990 at the age of 32. From 1995 until 2007, he served as a United States Senator.

As a member of the famous “Gang Of Seven”, Santorum loudly opposed many Congressional “perks” and investigated what would eventually become the House Banking Scandal and the House Post Office Scandal. His fierce opposition to what he viewed as governmental extortion led one Washington Post reporter to describe him as “a Tea Party kind of guy before there was a Tea Party.” In reading the information provided on his website, it is clear that Mr. Santorum’s family has inspired many of his political opinions. His views are those of a father and a husband, two titles from which he draws immense personal pride. He believes in empowering America to do what it does best, but he’s also willing to put laws into place that would make possible such noble endeavors.

Rick Santorum wrote and championed the “Born Alive Infants Protection Act” which protects a fetus ~~that~~ who survives an abortion procedure. This act received almost unanimous support when presented on the floor of Congress. In fact, there was only one Senator who opposed the bill. There was only one Senator with the “courage” to speak out against the bill on the Senate floor. There was only one Senator with a conscience small enough to allow him to support the possibility of a doctor having to stand in a room and watch as a human life faded before his bureaucratically tied hands. Can you guess who that Senator was? That’s right…..Barack Hussein Obama! When Pastor Rick Warren asked Obama in 2008 “at what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?” Obama, in full campaign mode at the time, responded “Well, you know, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a science perspective, answering that question with any specificity, you know, is above my pay-grade.” Eloquent as ever, Mr. President but Rick Santorum believes that marriage and human life are issues that transcend a campaign cycle. Opinions of these fundamental subjects should be rock solid, no matter what a political advisor may suggest. Santorum believes that marriage between a man and a woman is special and should be protected as such. He believes that it’s special in that it is the only union upon which life itself depends.

Energy is another topic being tossed around a lot lately. In addition to the immediate implementation of the KeystoneXL Pipeline, Rick Santorum has a carefully articulated plan for America’s Energy Policy. Whereas Obama’s energy plan is similar to Clark W. Griswold’s infamous roller coaster ride at Wally World (he’s the deranged, fake-gun wielding, psychopath – John Candy represents the public), Santorum’s plan is logical and doesn’t involve loaning billions more of our dollars to companies that build products none of us want. Santorum believes that America’s dependence upon foreign oil sources not only drives up costs of almost everything within our borders, but it also severely limits our defense options. Obama restricts domestic exploration and facilitates America’s dependence upon unstable, often adversarial sources. Santorum believes that Americans should be given the right to invent, explore, and innovate our own way to energy independence. Obama has weakened an already burdensome regulatory process and imposed ridiculously unfair ideology where solutions are needed. Santorum believes in getting government the heck out of the way.

Speaking of defense, Santorum served 8 years on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Even before 9/11, Santorum led the fight to reform our military not for budgetary or political reasons, but for logical ones. He wanted to transform our military from the Cold War model by which we now operate, into a force capable of facing and dominating today’s threats. Germany is no longer a threat yet we spend billions of dollars each year maintaining, staffing, and supplying several bases in that country. Countries that actually pose a threat to our country are supported by either trade agreements, or our own laws.

When it comes to education, Senator Santorum believes in a “Put Parents First” kind of plan. This obviously makes him an enemy of big-unions whose very livelihood depends upon the current system of corruption, cronyism, and indoctrination. His education plan calls for flexible options designed to maximize the potential of the individual student. No longer would parents be at the mercy of the government to determine the education path of their own children. No longer would good teachers be stifled or driven into other careers because of union regulations, demands, and involvement.

Obviously, Health Care is a huge issue in this election. Romney can’t possibly speak out against ObamaCare which scares me. Santorum, again with a “family-first” approach to his thinking, says he will repeal ObamaCare as soon as he takes office. Healthcare options should be between a patient and a doctor, not forced upon both by government regulations. His Barackness promised us that ObamaCare would lower our costs, yet the law itself specifically calls for increases in cost, taxation, and regulation. Businesses and our gasping economy can’t afford anymore of Obama’s “help” or “wisdom.” The Obama plan calls for tax incentives to encourage employers to stop providing coverage, leaving employees uncovered and in risk of penalty unless they succumb to the Obamanator’s Supreme Power and purchase government controlled healthcare plans. Santorum erases all that nonsense with a market driven healthcare plan that allows for premiums to come from pre-tax dollars. There is no religious conflict in Santorum’s plan as healthcare options are left up to the patient which, in and of itself, protects the religious freedom Obama is working so hard to strip away from us. (Liberals, feel free to insert “witty” anti-religion comment here…..the response is coming in the form of Friday’s article!)

Lastly, and the most important issue we all want addressed is the economy. None of this other stuff matters if we’re all broke and living in our Chevy Volts under constant fear of a battery fire. Rick Santorum has an economic plan which makes more sense than any of the others I’ve heard. Again, as is becoming a pattern, his plan is obviously the plan of a man who takes his family as more than just an obligation, or a photo-enhancer. Rick Santorum is a devoted husband and father of seven children. (That fact alone earns him some street-cred, don’t you think?) He believes the family is the first economy, and government should operate as a household operates. Santorum plans to simplify income taxes by reducing tax rates to either 10% or 28%. All others would be eliminated. He will also eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax and other confusing, often manipulated code within our tax system. He will lower the Capital Gains and Dividend tax rate to 12%. (That oughta thrill the Occupy Wall Street types!) He plans to triple the Child Tax Credit for each child in the home. Marriage penalties, of any kind, anywhere they appear within our tax code, would be removed. He has several other points in his plan that would make it much easier and less costly for companies to expand and hire.

All in all, Santorum would be a fine candidate for President. He’s stood up to Obama in the past and has won. He’s got much more experience than people think. I do believe that despite the popularity of the sweater-vest, it’s time to put on a suit and start acting Presidential. I’m not asking to sit on your lap while you read me stories, I’m asking you to run my country.

Liberals Never Learn….

Today would have been Ronald Reagan’s 101st Birthday. While the greatest President we’ve ever had may be long gone, his name continues to invoke pride or fury, depending upon which side of the political aisle your views tend to fall. The fact that those who oppose even the mention of Reagan’s name are usually the ones with whom I most impetuously disagree has no bearing whatsoever on the selfish entertainment I will draw from writing this piece.

Reagan’s name has been tossed about a lot lately, mostly out of the Newt Gingrich camp. Many have claimed that Newt is simply trying to ride the coattails of a man he admired. Obama will no doubt insinuate that Newt’s obsessed with Reagan as the campaign continues, but when compared to Obama’s obsessions, I’ll forgive it. Beyond the proven relationship Reagan shared with one of the candidates in this race, there are many similarities between the election of 1980 and the one in which we currently find ourselves mired.

The backdrop of the 1980 Presidential Election was eerily similar to the 2012 Election. The country was a mess in 1980 and the overwhelming desire among Americans was for change. So much of the uncertainty we feel today is simply a repeat of the emotions we battled in 1980. The names may have changed, and the issues may have shifted locales, but fear has led us once again to the breaking point. We are staring down the barrel of catastrophic failure right now, just as we were in 1980. The fear we have is not of government failure. It’s not of economic failure although both are at the top of the list. The fear that we collectively battle is the fear of complacency. Every man who has ever been defeated knows that there is a certain tipping point when victory is assured to the opposition. There’s that breaking point when momentum is just another arrow in the quiver of your opponent. We fear as a country that we are dangling over the chasm of such a failure. We fear that the burdens created by those we elect may eventually become too much to bear. If our friends and neighbors give up, our own defenses are useless and we will eventually be forced to give up too. We’re Americans and we do not give up until the fight has literally been beaten out of us, but many are starting to feel like that’s exactly what’s happened.

In January and February of 1980, Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, George H W Bush was ahead in the polls. He was running against former California Governor Ronald Reagan. Bush had defeated Reagan summarily in the Iowa Caucus, and went on to do the same in 5 additional states. That’s kind of where we stand today. Romney has won several of the initial primaries but I have yet to find anyone who is firmly anchored in the Mitt Romney camp. There seems to be a general feeling, among conservatives, that we’ll vote for him if he’s the nominee but we kind of hope an alternative is presented soon.

At the conclusion of the 1980 Primary Season, 58% of all Americans disapproved of Carter’s Presidential Record. While blind loyalty, ignorance, and heavily manipulated dissemination of statistics has yet to reveal Obama’s true approval rating, the demand for change seems to be equal to or greater than it was in 1980. Carter continued to run on a platform of “peacemaking.” He touted himself as a great negotiator for peace even while 52 Americans remained classified as hostages in our own embassy in Iran. This arrogance did not sit well with voting public. Sound familiar? Obama has done a good job at securing a few military victories he can claim during the campaign. I’ll give him that. No matter what anyone says, he got Osama bin Laden and that was huge. He’s freed some hostages in Somalia using tactical force and I’m sure we will be led to believe that Barackuda Obamalicious was right there in the thick of the fire-fight by the time the election gets here in November. His victories, however, fall short when compared to the overall defense needs of the United States. He’s like the guy at the gym who only works the “glory muscles.” (Obviously, this is a metaphor….Obama has the musculature of a 14 year old anorexia combatant.) It’s great to have nice arms, chest, and abs but what happens when someone punches you in the face?

Reagan promised an end to what he referred to as “Trust Me Government.” Once his campaign began picking up steam and he was in a position to do so, he distanced himself from the typical campaign and began to push his idea of Supply-Side Economics. Supply side economics basically means that government gets the heck out of the way and lets America produce (supply) goods and services to inject into their own economy. Such talk would make Barack Hussein Obama’s liberal heart stop, but it’s exactly what we need right now. We need a President who is willing to look at government like he would look at his own house. When times are tough, we get rid of things. Yes, it might suck to “go without cable” for a few months. Our friends might make fun of us for still using an old cell-phone and for the faded appearance of our clothing, but dammit we’ll survive. Barack Obama simply doesn’t see the world that way. To him, and to those that support his misguided ideology, the United States Government is simply a tool for them to use. They do not personally invest in the actions taken by the government they lead. Our money is his to “try things” with. Our military is his to “reform.” Our history is his to decimate. Reagan spent most of his first several months in office tearing down government and getting rid of waste and irrelevance. Obama promises more government involvement and rule. Carter was quick to criticize Reagan’s economic plans but offered no response of his own. Obama swears his economic positions are “what the American people want” yet he fails to address the concerns we have. He condemns any GOP economic plan that strays from liberal orthodoxy, yet he has overseen a Congress that has failed to submit a budget in three years. He’s invested billions of OUR dollars into conclusive failure and he has promised more of the same.

In late October of 1980, Reagan and Carter faced off in a live debate. There had been several debates prior, but Carter refused to participate unless the event was tailored to his campaign needs. He got his wish, but on October 28, 1980, his arrogance and sense of entitlement betrayed him. Reagan stood by and absorbed Carter’s nonsense as the incumbent President continued to insult the Duke. Reagan smiled and chuckled in a down-home, approachable manner similar to Andy Griffith. There was a charm and a reassurance in his tone that drew people to his side. In his closing remarks, Reagan turned to the camera and asked America “are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The question erased the small lead Jimmy Carter held just days prior to the election and resulted in the most lopsided presidential election in recent history. So what do you think America? It’s 2012…..are you better off than you were in 2008? Has your life improved dramatically as was promised during Barack Obama’s last campaign? Do you feel that America has a better standing in the world than we did when Barack Hussein Obama took office? Do you want more government involvement in your life?

Reagan delivered so much more to this country than just an improved economy, and a strengthened global reputation. Under Reagan’s watch, we pulled ourselves out of the clutches of failure. We didn’t depend on government to do it for us. We didn’t overanalyze manipulated numbers and suckle at the teat of social media for our opinions and needs. We simply went out there and got the job done because we had a government willing to let us fix our own problems. We do not have that now. What we have now is a government willing to destroy all of us as long as we can’t pin the blame on them. We deserve better. We deserve change.

Really Loud Baby Steps…..

Over the last several weeks I have heard the term “negative campaign” no fewer than a trillion times. Remember when “trillion” used to sound like a made-up number? I’ve heard a lot of people suggest that the negative attack ads have gone far enough. Gingrich came out and said that he lost the Florida Primary because Romney had more money to spend on negative ads. While that may be true, it clearly spells out that Obama would literally wipe the floor with Gingrich. Not in a debate. Heavens no! Obama would tuck tail and hide like a puppy in a thunderstorm if he faced Gingrich in a live debate but I do not believe that’s the direction we are headed as a country. Gingrich just doesn’t seem to be gaining the same ground that Romney is. Romney has stood by, consistently, and weathered the storm thus far and maybe that’s all we need in THIS election.

Please hear what I am saying……I am not saying that Romney has all of the answers but I do sincerely believe that he has enough of the answers that we should cast our vote his way should he be the one representing Obama’s opposition in November. In this particular election, Mormonism may actually prove to be Romney’s biggest asset if we can keep the negative ads going until Obama starts throwing his absurdly large war-chest at him. If we can get all of Romney’s dirty little secrets out in the open during the primary CliffDive cycle, there will be very little left to attack when he’s the official nominee. We all know he’s rich. We all know he made money off of things liberals hate, but he’s survived that revelation. There aren’t any skeletons in the closet of a man like Romney. Newt can’t honestly make that statement and I think we’re all well aware of it. I respect Gingrich. I would love to see him as our President someday but I don’t think we’re ready as a country just yet. We all think we are, but in reality, we’re not. We hate the swerve to the left we took back in 2008 but we can’t just jerk the wheel back to the right without tipping over and sliding over the edge of the cliff. I believe they call that “overcorrecting” or “losing.”

One thing I know for sure is that we need to deliver a crystal clear message to Barack Hussein Obama and all those who so blindly support him. This verbal garbage about not voting if “your” candidate doesn’t get the nod has got to stop. Division and stubbornness leaves us facing the very real possibility of four more years of Jon Corzine-esque decisions. Obama is out there raising millions by the day. We all know the man can run an excellent campaign, but the one factor that got him to the White House in 2008 is no longer on his side. He no longer has the facade of hope standing proudly behind him. That came crumbling down under the devastating blows of Solyndra, A123 Systems, Ener1, GM, and the economy. People who were willing to trust his left-wing nonsense four years ago will not be as adventurous this go-round. For that very reason, Romney’s cold, underwhelming features remind us that showmanship may get people excited, but it sure as hell does NOT lead a country in desperate need of leadership. In this case, future results can and should be based on prior performance. Romney was given a mission at Bain and he delivered success. You may not agree with the methods, but he delivered what he was asked to deliver. None of the glorious “hopey-changeys” that were promised to us by Barack Obama have been delivered. Despite manipulated statistics and carefully planned political maneuverings, there is no sense of morale in the streets of this country. Stone Cold Mitt Romney may be exactly what we need to calm things down in Washington a bit. Obama keeps all focus on DC with his celebrity. Every time one of Michelle Obama’s TWENTY TWO personal secretaries buys new shoes, the tabloids go nuts. (BTW: Laura Bush had one secretary, Hillary Clinton had three, Barbara Bush had one……you get the point. We pay Michelle’s staff $1,591,200 per year in salary. Fair share?) There will be NONE of that under a Romney presidency. A Romney presidency will be boring and our focus will shift back onto ourselves. A Romney presidency will get the heck out of America’s way and let us do what we do best…….kick the crap out of those who need the crap kicked out of them. Get government out of our way and let us create. It’s what we do.

Obama recently stated at a fundraising dinner in the prestigious Saint Regis (poetic license, sorry) Hotel in Washington DC that Republicans have “the wrong vision for America.” Yes, that’s right…..Obama, in front of a crowd of people who had just paid $38,500 per plate to bear witness to the bright shining light of his genius, claims that we have the wrong vision. Don’t worry folks, I’m sure $38,500 buys only a “fair share” of food but who the heck is Barack Hussein Obama to question our vision? Our ForeclosureDC vision is clear. His is clouded with arrogance, blame, and failure. If the arrogance wasn’t so thick, shame and remorse would be in there too. He “rejects” campaign contributions from lobbyists; something you will hear repeatedly in coming months, but several of his top fundraisers are “individuals involved in the business of influencing government.” Have we really become that stupid?

It’s not just money that Obama’s out there raising either. He’s harvesting votes as well. This morning, in Falls Church, Virginia, Obama laid out a plan to refinance everyone’s home with no credit checks, no collateral, and no confusing paperwork,. He told tale of the time he and Michelle bought their first home and they got confused by the application. “And that’s for two, you know, trained lawyers” he laughed. Wait…..did they really put on their application that they were “trained lawyers?” Could that be fraud? Someone look into that, okay? This is just another one of Obama’s “guaranteed to fail” political stunts that he will later use to whine about the mean old Republican Congress. He really does want to pay everybody’s mortgage but the racist, greedy, corporation loving Republicans in Congress just wouldn’t approve the bill. He was only looking out for us…..you know, trying to simplify things. Republicans must hate simplicity and property ownership. Get ready for all sorts of nonsense like that. Again, I don’t see Newt surviving this style of attack. Not in THIS election.

There is a way to defeat Obama and send all of his ideology packing on November 6, 2012. It require laser-like focus of each and every American out there who is sick and tired of being told that we have the “wrong vision” for the future of our country. Romney may be the four-year bridge we need to bring another ten million or so voters back from the depths of liberalism. Get the ball rolling back toward the right, and then send in the Gingrich’s of the world. Romney will not be a step toward the cliff’s edge as opponents will have you believe. Gingrich might be. If we go ultra-conservative and have even a mention of failure in anything we do, we scare the nation right back into voting for a Pelosian Supremacy in 2016. This correction we need will take more than one term. Our focus needs to be on getting a qualified, Republican candidate into the Oval office and then we should immediately begin to focus on the 2014 Congressional Strategy. I don’t just want the White House….I want our entire government freed from the clutches of liberalism once and for all. That vision is not wrong and it will take time. We can bide that time by building, creating, advancing, and purchasing. Are you ready?

Who Leads You?

As so many of the ideas for my Monday articles seem to do, this one burst into my mind during Church yesterday. Is God’s Word the authoritative control in your life? That was the question posed to the capacity crowd. Most of us were still in that panicked, running late, “do we have all of our children” frame of mind so the question was a nice, slapping welcome to the service. Sadly, not many of us can honestly answer “yes” to such a question.

Following God is not about actions. It’s not about the things you “do” in the world. Following God is about the very way you live your life. It changes the way you think, the way you speak, the way you raise your children and the way you view the world around them. I’ve said in several previous articles that the decay of morality and decency is crippling us as a country, and I know from feedback I’ve received to such statements that there are a large number of you out there who agree with me. It’s cool to ridicule faith. Ratings are boosted when a show is “courageous” enough to question the legitimacy of Christianity. Kids are told, from a very early age, in our over politicized school system that faith and all things related to Church are not to be discussed while they are in class. Same sex marriages. sensitive political issues, Jersey Shore, American Idol, and other such nonsense is perfectly acceptable, but God is not to be discussed. There seem to be so many explanations in this “progressive” world we’re building around ourselves to suggest that the Word of God is just a bunch of made-up gibberish. It seems scientists all over the globe are just racing to prove all us “zealots” wrong, but guess what……you can’t!

As far as politics go, it actually saddens me that there is not much of a focus on God in this election, but at the same time I believe God’s name gets greatly misused in political circles. The point is that Barack Hussein Obama couldn’t possibly lecture anyone from a pulpit of Faith and Christian morals. If he tried, I honestly believe he would be immediately struck by lightning directly in his condescending face. To truly follow the Word of God means that you can’t pick and choose which parts to follow and which times to follow them. Following God is something that consumes you and while I’m sure there are many fine, Christian men in politics I don’t believe the Word can truly govern the government of our country. Christianity preaches of a Kingdom, where God is the one and only King. Our country is a democracy, which means there are many rulers. We are all the rulers in a democracy (in theory at least). The way our current political system is set up, the two will be at constant friction. Our current political system demands deceit The-Politics-of-Religion-03 and secrecy. It encourages wild spending and wreaks of backhanded deals. A constant doubt of the Word of God feeds interests that can’t profit in a Faithful environment. We’re led to believe that faith makes us weak and that earthly possessions are all that really matters. We’re talked down to as if we’re somehow “beneath” all the people who don’t need the '”crutch” of Christianity. Blithering idiots like Michael Moore and Bill Maher talk smugly as if their misinformed opinions are so much more worthy of trust than the thousands of years and billions of Believers who speak of Faith and its strength in their lives.

Stop it! Our leaders do not need to be “just like Jesus” in order to run this country the way it needs to be run. Newt Gingrich, no matter how hard he tries, is NEVER going to be Jesus Christ. The closest he could possibly come would be Santa Claus and even that would be a massive, moral stretch. He can confess every behind-the-scenes deal he’s ever made and every political enemy he’s ever wronged. He can confess every marital issue he’s ever swept under the rug and he will still be billions upon billions of miles away from Jesus’ personification of perfection. Mitt Romney probably leads the purest personal life of any of the candidates but greed will come up in almost every discussion about him. Barack Hussein Obama…..not even in the same discussion! Why then do we ask our leaders…..the ones who lead a democracy which is pretty much the exact opposite of a Kingdom…….to lead us as Christians? They can’t! We have to lead them and I think images people are finally starting to wake up to that fact. Our politicians are our politicians. They do what we demand of them. They do it cleverly so that they believe everything is their idea, but in the end, they are just our puppets. Romney, Gingrich….it doesn’t really matter as long as we don’t sit by and let them fall asleep at the wheel like the current President has done. Actually, he didn’t fall asleep at the wheel, the battery in his ridiculous little electric car died and his cord isn’t long enough. Stop waiting for a politician to step up and deliver the changes we all want. No man is capable of meeting that much demand. Nor should we allow ourselves to be so lazy as to expect such things from one man, or from our government at all. The changes we all demand are changes that only we as a people can deliver. They are changes that begin in our hearts and spread quickly, as passionately fueled ideas always do. If we truly want to live in a world where politicians are allowed to follow the Word of God in every decision they make, we have to make such ideology acceptable. Not only must it be acceptable, it has to be required. We’re staring down the barrel of an election in which one candidate believes in an obscure, often frowned upon version of God, another is incapable of portraying himself as a fine, Christian man, and the other is Obama. None of them have ever served in the United States Military. None of them have ever done anything that would make them stand out as exemplary humanitarians. (Before any of you nutbags cite Obama’s Nobel Prize, I will remind you that he deserved that award about as much as Kim Kardashian deserves her celebrity.)

In watching the endless debates, primaries, campaign speeches, and downward spiral of Obama’s popularity. anyone would be quick to believe that change is around the corner but for the first time in my life, I feel like it is us who will be delivering the change, not a politician. Reagan oversaw great change in this country because we were in the mood to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and beat back the shame of Carter’s presidency. We’re there again. We’re ready to get back on track and for too long we have sat on the bench watching as ineptitude, immorality, and financial stupidity lead us into catastrophe. We’re at the breaking point and now we’re being told that our fears are unfounded. Whoever ends up getting our vote, Gingrich or Romney, we have to summon the backbone to “make them" do what needs to be done. They’re slaves to trends, so let’s make morality popular again. Let’s make decency the expected norm. Let’s make the voice of the ones who do the most good and the most right the ones that we hear over the crowds of celebrities who do and encourage nothing but harm and more decay.

Obama had his chance and he has blown it. His “investments” if given another four years to plummet like Billy Cundiff’s value to the city of Baltimore, will most certainly bankrupt us. This nonsense about needing to increase the debt ceiling again…..are you kidding me? NO!! You cannot have anymore of our money. You went before the cameras to deliver a State of the Union Address and turned it into another campaign speech. That’s all you do is campaign. You’re a salesman but the problem is that you don’t images (1) passionately believe in the product you’re selling. Those kinds of salesmen; the ones who are only chasing the commission, no matter what it’s form, are always ferreted out and run out of business. The salesman who believes in the products he’s selling…..who uses the products in his own home and would happily defend ‘his’ product is the one who usually enjoys the most long-term success. Those who pitch well can sometimes ride the hype to a view sales awards, but when questionable results expose empty promises they are rarely asked to cross the stage at the following year’s awards banquet. Obama gave us his pitch in 2008. 52% of those who voted, fell for the pitch. That means that 52% of the people who voted in the last Presidential election purchased a faulty product and the recall is about to be issued. Changes must be made and it starts with the man sitting in the Oval Office. Not only must he be changed, like a diaper……but the whole concept of The American President needs a facelift. I don’t want a celebrity running my country. I don’t want an athlete running my country. I don’t want a rap-star running my country and I certainly don’t want anyone who can identify more than three members of the Jersey Shore cast at the helm of my country.

I don’t want God running my country either. I want God to run my life and my relationship with those I love. I want God to be the driving force in the lives of my friends, and those with whom I connect. I want God to run the life of the man that runs my country and I want that man to openly embrace the refreshment that knowledge of his faith gives to the people who gave him his title. Faith requires accountability that public office may not be able to support but I’m ready for a man who is at least willing to try. Aren’t you?

Am I the only one that thinks there seems to be some kind of a debate or Primary, or caucus every night of the week these days? CNN held one last night. I’m not real sure why everyone seems so surprised that Debate Moderator John King opened the proceedings with a question about Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife. She did her “fifteen minutes of Marianne Gingrich

fame” interview, of which I’m sure we’ll see many, many more over the next two-hundred-ninety days. (But who’s counting, right?) She’s bitter and she’s making wild, unsubstantiated claims about open marriages and other nonsense. People seem even more surprised that Newt batted the question right out of the auditorium with his stern, very well received, rebuke. If you’d like to read Newt Opens Up A Can

While I admirably acknowledge Newt’s powerful performance in the debate, and agree with Senator Jim Demint (R-SC) who said that last night’s debate made it clear that the election is now a “two-man race,” that’s not what today’s article is about. Today’s article is about the obsession with Mitt Romney’s tax returns.

When Romney was asked if he would eventually release his returns, he said that he would if given the nomination. There were boos in the crowd, but witnesses claim they were from two men in the Ron Paul section who appeared ready to boo no matter the response. Make no mistake, an orchestrated response does not reflect the opinion of the logical voter on this issue. Why would Mitt Romney release his tax records at this point. Has anyone else? Gingrich released one year. Santorum said he wouldn’t release anything until “finished” (real reassuring to his campaign staff, I’m sure). Ron Paul said he flat out wouldn’t release his records. Romney has promised complete transparency if given the nod. The one everyone is demanding to see right now, is the one to have promised more transparency than any of the others, yet the media has fueled our obsession. Ask yourself logically, what sense would it make for Mitt Romney to release his records at this point? He’s a wealthy man, we all know that. He’s wealthy in ways most of us simply can’t imagine. The Obama camp is counting on those facts. As soon as Romney’s records are released, you will be subjected to the most intense publication of another man’s financial history as you have ever witnessed. They will inflate numbers, portray loopholes out of context, paint Romney as the typical, white, wealthy, Wall Street, capitalist who washes his hands with baby’s tears. Why give them extra time to air that garbage? Why should we put what looks like our best shot at defeating Obama, whether it be Newt or Mitt, into harm’s way this early in the game?

People ask if he’s got something to hide? Well, of course he’s got something to hide! He’s a human being. All these people who question his secrecy have no idea what it would be like to have public demand for full disclosure of things that we all keep very privately guarded. My problem with our two frontrunners is that while the focus seems intently directed at Romney’s tax returns, I believe it’s a clever ploy. I believe the Obama camp is fearful of Romney. With that in mind, coupled with my inherent distrust of anything the media over-reports, I’m led to believe that they want us focused on Romney’s possible “dark secrets".” The only reason they would want that is if they believe Gingrich’s past offers something they can use to knock him out of favor down the road. Doesn’t take a diabolical genius to figure out that basic strategy but there are plenty of them riding shotgun on the Obamalama-Express. Notice that Gingrich was asked a question that he easily deflected, yet it seemed courageous and as if he had just publicly defeated the mighty John King? Notice that all the attention was on Romney’s returns? Follow me here……very little has been made of the fact that Newt Gingrich was Crazy Person

recently asked to provide details about his 1997 ouster from his position as House Speaker. The committee that voted on the issue contained such diabolical geniuses as one Nancy Pelosi. Folks, she has all of the records, documentation, and transcripts of those proceedings. Evidence that has not yet been released to the public. If she’s got it, make no mistake that Barrack Hussein Obama has it. For them to keep fanning the flame of the Romney Tax Return fire leads me to believe that there’s something in those Newt-files they believe will cripple Gingrich. Did any of that make sense or are you still trying to wrap your mind around the irony of Nancy Pelosi sitting on an ethics committee?

Like I said, Romney’s skeletons will come out in the form of exaggerated loopholes and fluffed up characterizations that are easily defeated. That scares opponents. The blitz that will follow the release of his tax returns will be capable of swaying public opinion, but his steadfast determination to bring this country back from the brink of disaster will shine through flimsy insinuations. He’s wealthy, we all know it. If Gingrich truly believes that he is capable of leading this country past November 6, 2012 then he’d better get out ahead of this Ethics Committee stuff before Obama releases it at a time of his choosing. The war that Obama plans to wage against whoever the GOP candidate ends up being will not be for America. He will convince you that it is, but make no mistake that his war is not FOR America but rather AGAINST conservative thought. If we can’t condition our minds to be stronger than the manipulations and twisted context of a conniving media avalanche then we really have no shot at defeating the mighty machine.

Right now, Gingrich appears determined in his goal. Unfortunately, his goal would appear to be winning the election. That’s great. That’s obviously a critical first step. Romney seems to be focused well beyond the election. Romney carries himself as if the election is just the first step in a marathon and that’s what I want to see in my candidate. Yes, Newt needs to gain some momentum but like I said a few days ago, it’s time to stop focusing on Romney and start focusing on what Obama might have to use against you. For Romney, it’s time to buckle down, remain focused, and convince America that your track record of success, no matter how it’s received by a bunch of tent-dwelling hippies, is exactly what this country needs right now. Get beyond the election because America has already done so. Obama’s support is dead, the election will go to one of you so start convincing us what a presidency will be like with you in office. Don’t give into the nonsense about when and where you should release information. Gingrich - release your skeletons now so that their power is stripped from Obama’s arsenal. Romney – keep your returns held tightly against your chest until you absolutely must release them. Now is not that time. Not yet. If for no other reason than they are demanding them.

something cool. There is not a man alive who has not envisioned himself standing on a stage, singing his favorite song to a crowd of adoring fans. Most of us would never be able to pull it off if actually put in the position, and we know it. I would require an immediate change of pants and psychotherapy to be honest, but Obama managed to do it and even seem cool to me, one of his most avid opponents. SNAP OUT OF IT!!!! The media will do anything and everything they can to get what they want and what they want is to see Obama back in office. Charm, and random acts of coolness cannot win this election. We’ve done that twice now – when are we going to learn?

Newt-ering the United States…..

Come on…..you don’t get to be in the public eye with a name like “Newt” and escape creative license. Recently, Newt Gingrich claimed that a vote for Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, or Rick Perry was essentially a vote for Mitt Romney. I don’t necessarily believe that. In fact, I whole- problem-solved-spay-neuter-politics-1317642100 heartedly disagree with that. While I can’t personally imagine the stress involved in running for any kind of high-profile office, I’m not ready to trim the list of candidates down to two men just yet. I can certainly understand why Gingrich would want the field narrowed a bit, but I think there is a lot of good that can come from a few more weeks, if not months of competition for the former Speaker of the House. I’m ready to cast my vote for the candidate I believe will lead this country so far beyond the mistakes of the current administration that history remembers Obama as “that guy who made way for [insert candidate name here].” Whoever gets the nod will be completely vetted and his mission will be understood. That doesn’t mean that we will understand HIS mission, but rather that he will clearly understand OURS. We’re not just looking for someone who can beat Obama. While the removal of Obummer is obviously a fundamental first step, it is not the only task our next President will be asked to complete. In other words, memorable speeches, large crowds, and poll results are not going to be the only qualifications of the next President of the United States Of America.

To look at Newt’s website you would believe that Gingrich is definitely the man to lead us away from the catastrophe over which we luke_darthv1 are now perilously dangling. Where the other candidates simply have an “Issues” tab at the top of their website, Gingrich has a “Solutions” tab. If it was a CEO’s website, or a coach’s; you might think of the positive spin as a sign of hope but as it stands, on the website of a polished politician with a polished political machine cranking out his web presence, it just comes across as slightly pandering. No matter how sincere the motives behind the tab, it somehow comes across as playing on our negativity strings a little too heavily. The points that fall under the tab are fantastic ideas, but for some reason have been met with doubt until very recently. While Gingrich is surging ahead of the rest of the non-Romney-pack, I’m still not sure he has a complete grasp of what it is that he will be asked to do if he is elected to be our next leader. His mission is still too focused on the campaign and not the years after the campaign. Hey, Newt! We’ve seen what an excellent campaign can do. Obama ran an excellent campaign!

Some of Newt’s solutions include the “Optional Flat Tax Rate of 15%.” It’s an excellent idea, and one that would put so much power back into the hands of the American Federal Reserve people where it belongs. Giving people the choice to file their taxes on a single postcard, or with the current system of over-documented, over-calculated, panic inducing, tree killing bureaucracy would surely save billions in annual processing costs and time. Reforming the Federal Reserve to Promote Transparency…..I’m all for it. Newt Gingrich’s “Solutions” include the repeal of several specific laws and acts the average voter couldn’t identify with ten clues and a Sherpa. Newt plans to repeal the Sarbanes / Oxley Act. The act was written hastily as most acts seem to be. It was a knee-jerk reaction to the calamities of Enron and WorldCom but it proved to be absolutely useless against the insolvencies and accounting irregularities of Bear – Sterns, Lehman Brothers, AIG, or Merrill Lynch. Before this act, and all of the confusing regulatory measures it brought with it from the panicked womb of illustrious leaders like Paul Sarbanes (D-MD), it took a company an average of 5 years to climb from creation to initial public offering. We now stand around twelve years with a majority of companies finding safety in their continued status as “privately held.”. Many companies we all know and love today could not have been created under this act. Newt also plans to do away with the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977. This act requires banks to make loans in all communities in which they accept deposits but has instead created a bottleneck of bureaucratic red-tape and regulatory nightmares in terms of access to credit. No matter what the left may say, this act has contributed heavily to the confusion in our mortgage system as well. To that end, Newt plans to break up the cement slippers around the feet of America known as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and let their smaller successors fight it out in the free market. Excellent idea. Newt plans to get rid of wasteful government departments, especially those departments that so often kill jobs in the name of ideology like the EPA. Newt plans, in fact, to replace the Environmental Protection Agency with the Environmental Solutions Agency. (Sounds like more government involvement to me, but it’s worth a try because it infuriates liberals.) Mr. Gingrich promotes the idea of implementing a new Energy Plan for America. Okay, now you’re veering off course, Mr. Speaker and this is why you still require the competitive accountability imposed upon you by the other candidates still in the race. Any “Energy Plan” that doesn’t call for the complete and immediate evacuation of all government hands from the free market, private and entrepreneurial expansion of our nation’s energy options is quite frankly not good enough. Keep trying.

Newt Gingrich is a horrible husband. It’s no secret. He needs to embrace it, own it, and get past it. His website and his campaign have gone too far in trying to make people forget about is matrimonially challenged personal history. Every page and photo contains info about Callista Gingrich’s involvement in his life. Am I the only one that sees an eerie similarity between the public, almost scripted marriage of Newt and Callista Gingrich and another business-couple running for President in 1992? He keeps trying to draw similarities between himself and Reagan, but there will never be another Reagan. Someday we might be saying “there will never be another Gingrich” if he can get past this mentality that he has to be leading the campaign in January. I’m not asking you to marry me any more than I’m asking Romney to be my spiritual advisor, Newt. Stop the negative attacks and get out there and passionately defend and deliver your messages. Get behind the ideas you supposedly believe in. Nobody has heard you make mention of the acts you plan to repeal because they might not be popular in certain demographics. Get over that crap and get your message out there. As it stands right now, you have just put a bunch of words on a website. You have listed all the benefits of the grand ideas you have for your time in office, but you have failed to list how you will get any of the ideas passed.

Ron Paul has done exactly those things. While I believe Dr. Paul is smoking the pot of his supporters on many issues, I do believe that the man has a passionate reasoning behind his mission. He spells out that mission quite clearly throughout his own website. As unlikely as his presidency may be, Ron Paul does lay out a very convincing timeline and plan for balancing the budget. In fact, if elected, he swears he can get it done by year three. He’s got graphs, statistics, and well organized data to support his plan. Newt has none of those things. Ron Paul vows to end the Federal Reserve if elected. I’m all for that. The Federal Reserve was created under sneaky circumstances on Christmas Eve of 1913 and has operated under the cloak of secrecy ever since. Recently, the Federal Reserve convinced Americans that the economy would never recover without unprecedented bailouts. We now know, because of the efforts of passionate men like Dr. Paul, that at the peak of the Fed’s “emergency lending” over 90% of it’s discount window loans were made to foreign banks. In fact, there were a total of 70 loans made to the Bank of Libya. When pressed about the issue, good-old Bernanke reminded Congress that they do not have the power or authority to audit the mighty Federal Reserve. Ron Paul aims to change that drastically and he has a clear, if not ill-conceived, plan to do so. He’s passionate about his stance. Where’s Newt’s passion?

Newt’s passion seems to lie only in the title of frontrunner. He’s passionate about poll results, campaign numbers, and headlines. Those things win elections, but America is already looking far beyond Election Day. Right now, Mitt Romney seems to be the only one on our side with that same mentality. When Newt gets out there and starts spreading the word about his ideas for the future instead of his association with Reagan, his disdain for Bain, and his over-the-top defense of his marriage then maybe he will surge ahead of the Mighty Mormon but for now you remain in second place. You’re not ready for a two man race to the nomination just yet and neither are we. Your mission needs the spit shine of competition, Mr. Gingrich. Embrace it, use it, give us a choice.
