Oz Never Ate Toto…..

Distraction - [dih-strak-shuhn] noun  1-The act of distracting.  2- The state of being distracted. –That which distracts, divides the attention, or prevents concentration.  - That which entertains, or diverts; amusement, entertainment.

Distraction

His Barackness loves to use the word “distraction.” He blames anything that might make him look less than brilliant on his arch enemy; his battle tested foe…..conservative tactics of distraction. In keeping with what has become an absurdly standard policy of this administration, even that is a lie! Conservatives are not the ones deploying more distractions than answers. Conservatives are not the ones covering up lies with more lies. Even more frustrating is the fact that those on the left seem so willing to accept the lies. They accept the lies and charm of Obama as truth and they do themselves and this country a great disservice in doing so. In the next 188 days, you can expect to see a plethora of distractions but I can assure you that very few of them will be coming from the right side of the political aisle.

If you’re still reading this article, I assume you are capable of enough thought and reason to know that Obama just might be the antichrist. I don’t use that term lightly. I honestly believe His Barackness may have been created out of spare parts found in the dumpster behind Beelzebub’s Workshop. Every word that comes out of the man’s mouth is simply dripping with deceit. We know that the idea of “conservative distraction” is axiomatically false, but most of us render that judgment based solely on the fact that the words passed Obama’s lips. While that is generally an excellent measuring stick, this case deserves a little more investigation. It’s not just the dishonesty that frustrates me. It’s the charismatic nature by which this mind-numbing foolishness is delivered. It’s the preposterous levels of devious planning that has gone into some of the left’s best defenses. It’s the sheer magnitude of people willing to accept liberal ideology rather than think for themselves. That is not to say that all liberals are uneducated fools. I’m pretty sure we share an equal number of idiots when it comes to the dregs of ideology. For every one of Jesse Jackson’s love-children out there demanding free stuff because of their pigmentation, there’s a Westboro Baptist Church lunatic claiming something equally maniacal. Again, not all liberals are stupid. There are many brilliant people out there to whom liberalism is appealing because it requires little to no research. Liberalism is presented in a nice, shiny package that answers the most basic political questions in a vague, carefully crafted manner that is sure to appeal to the widest possible audience. Conservatism however, requires more thought. It requires the reader to look beyond the fairy tale and accept some discomfort. Here’s a few examples.

Osama bin Laden – Ding-dong, that b!+ch is dead! For that, as I have said many times, Obama is to be commended. It’s unfortunate that he couldn’t find enough grace and humility to simply accept our gratitude and move on. Instead, he took the approach that should come as more expectation than surprise at this point. His Barackness went to work before bin Laden’s body even hit the floor to make sure that the world knew he had been in charge. He reminds me of the wide receiver who catches a first down in the fourth quarter of a game he’s losing by four touchdowns and then celebrates for six solid minutes. “Mr. President…..the economy’s in the tank, gas prices suck, companies are closing their doors at an alarming rate…..do you have a plan?” (That’s kind of a generalization of every question that’s been asked of our campaigning commander over the last few months by anyone not blinded by the Light of Barack.) “Well, you know…..I’m not going to dignify your distracting line of questioning with a response. The American people know that I killed bin Laden.” And so it will go from now until November 6th. There will be new and creative ways to keep bin Laden’s name on the tips of every uneducated tongue in the voting public. Obama will have them believing that he himself was part of the mission. By the time we hit the voting stations in November, Obama will have us believe that he pulled the trigger while fighting a shark and Chuck Norris at the same time. There will be no mention of the fact that bin Laden was located and killed using intel gathered during Bush’s presidency. No mention will be made of the fact that the intel was gathered using methods that Obama has denounced. See…..those pesky facts tend to scuff and dent the shiny box of liberalism.

Occupy Wall Street – These morons are promising to make a comeback. I sincerely hope that they do. The very fact that they feel relevant just goes to prove my point. This disorganized group of crybabies promises to be back on the streets, screaming their cause……which is still a vague, general demand wherein the wealth and fruits of another man’s labor are to be handed over to the crowds of participation trophy toting, Apple Store clogging, excrement smearing protesters. They’re a distraction. They’re loud and they’re entertaining but they are a distraction nonetheless. I’m sure all of us, at one point or another,  have thought to ourselves…..”Self, this day would improve dramatically if I could just poop on one cop-car or American Flag” but only these brave souls in the Occupy movement (no pun intended) have summoned such courage.  Obama will do everything he can to associate himself with the premise behind this crowd. Like two tornados colliding to devastate anything in it’s collective path, these camps will form an alliance that is sure to make this one of the most maddening summers in history. Of course, while our focus is locked onto the sheer size of the crowds, no mention will be made of the fact that Obama has received more money from the enemies of the Occupy movement than any of the Presidents this group claims to hate so much. No mention will be made of the fact that record amounts of capital are being stored in anticipation of Obama’s defeat. No mention will be made of the fact that Obama has single-handedly delivered more doubt, angst, and hesitation to a once enviable economy than any tragedy, crisis, or attack every could. Again…..why put those facts out there when “corporate greed is behind every unanswered prayer America has ever prayed” fits so much more nicely into that shiny, liberal box.

War On Women – First of all, this idea that conservatives hate women is ludicrous. We just hate liberal women! We hate liberal women who lie and manipulate facts just as much as we hate Presidents who lie and manipulate the facts. Once again, when the strong winds of truth knock down the thin facade of liberal ideology, it’s easy to see the hypocrisy. I doubt very seriously that you will hear Obama mention the fact that HIS White House pays the female staff members 18% less than the male staff members. I doubt you will hear him make many speeches in which the fact that women have suffered far more under Obama’s horrific economic policies than men have suffered. Hope-and-Change-onomics have been especially tough on women but why bring that truth to light when it is so ugly? Why not bask in the utopian glow of Obama’s created reality instead? Maintain the luster of that shiny, liberal box.

Racism – Race wars ignite Obama’s base. Despite the tenuous nature of the case against George Zimmerman, the left has done nothing to promote the notion of innocent until proven guilty. Instead, we have been subjected to “production errors” which just so happen to cut out key sections of Zimmerman’s 9-1-1 Call and leave us, the dumber-than-a-box-of-hair public, with seeds of racism sprouting in our minds. Instead of the truth, we are presented with manipulative photos to make a 17 year old, trespassing thug look like an angelic child while Zimmerman’s photo makes him look like he just got released from the drunk tank at County Lockup. Instead of quietly allowing the American legal system to perform it’s most basic of functions, we are presented with marches and protests. Apparently all you have to do now is yell the loudest and cops will do whatever you want. You can even get the chief fired if you don’t feel the color of his skin matches the victim closely enough. That’s the reality of the shambles in which the left has left our legal system and our Constitution. Obama will do everything he can to remind us that if he “had a son, he would probably look just like Trayvon Martin.” A clever maneuver aimed at keeping his blindly loyal, racially segregated base fired up and vocal. Well guess what y’all…..if George Zimmerman is white then so is Obama! How about that for some logic? Where’s Obama’s addressing of the fact that under his rule, blacks have enjoyed a 6% higher unemployment rate than the national average? No, no…..falsified numbers and “adjusted” statistics add much more shine to the liberal box than does the truth.

Energy – The left claims victory in the dreams that Obama has laid out before us. Unfortunately, victories are not earned in the planning stages. If that were the case, then the NFL would be handing out about 32 Lombardi Trophies each September. Good job on getting through pre-season guys, here’s your parade. You will hear repeated claims that drilling for oil is way up under Obama and that production is at praise-worthy levels. Technically, part of that statement are actually true but as is so often the case, a few decisive details have been intentionally omitted. For example, yes drilling is up but it’s only because people have found ways to drill around the Obama administration’s restrictions and steadfast refusal to grant new drilling permits. By drilling on private land, oil has begun to flow. Oil that is free from the restrictions of Obama and his beetle loving brethren.  That oil could be flowing through the job producing pipes of Keystone XL but that endeavor was closed down. Oil will continue to be transported via Warren Buffett’s trains. No questions. The left will continue to paint oil and the companies that produce it as evil but no mention will be made of the fact that these same companies have done more for the advancement of green energy technologies than all of Obama’s ill-advised policies combined. No mention will be made of the billions of our dollars wasted on ideological pursuits like Solyndra, A123 Systems, and Ener1. No attention will be given to the shameful combustibility of the blackmail conceived Chevy Volt. The Italian ownership of Chrysler is probably going to be kept from Obama’s speeches as well.

Obama and his minions are going to do everything in their power to make sure you hate Mitt Romney. That’s the nature of a campaign, but when opinions are formed upon a foundation of dishonesty…..well, let’s just say that nothing is more fun than watching those foundations crumble. Get loud people! There’s a reason this buffoon has held more fundraising events than Presidents Nixon through George W. Bush combined, That reason is that he believes money will cover up the stench of his record. It’s like wrapping a turd in a scented fabric softener sheet. It’s still a turd, it just smells slightly less offensive. It in no way improves the effectiveness of the dryer sheet for heaven’s sake! Get loud! Stay loud! Get this fool out of office and then get his foolish Congressional loyalists out of their offices too. It’s time to take that shiny little box of theirs and melt it down so that it can manufactured into something more useful. Playtime is over!

As always, thanks for playing!

It Starts At The Dinner Table…..

“Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.”   - Charles R. Swindoll

It’s a cliché to say that being a parent changes the way you look at things. Of course it does. For most of us, becoming a parent means an abrupt, loud, and completely exhausting end to the life we had led to that point. It doesn’t matter how old the parents are or how well planned the pregnancy may have been, once that child arrives, the IMAG1226 world of the parent is a completely different one. Parents find a joy in seeing the world through the eyes of their children. There’s an indescribable sense of pleasure to be found in watching your child figure out a concept with which you yourself struggled as a child. Some are more momentous like watching them suffer a competitive loss but take away the appropriate lessons. Others are more humorous like watching a 7 year old boy in complete awe of the “curly fry.” The feeling a parent has at the end of a really good day with their kids is a spiritual experience. It can’t be duplicated.

Is it too much to ask for a government who feels the same way about this country? Is it out of the realm of possibility for us to take control of the spiraling mess that has been created in Washington DC? A parent, even one whose abilities may have been called into question a time or two, would move heaven and earth to protect their kids. Does anybody in this country feel that our government would feel the same way about us as their kids? Many of the values that parents try to instill in their children are values our government does not believe in. Even the most selfish of men will do everything in his power to steer his kids clear of the mistakes he has made in his own life. A parent would recognize trends in their children that have led down destructive paths in their own history. Our government has no such instinct. A parent would gladly sacrifice time and emotion to impart the wisdom of independence onto his children. A parent wants their kids to know the sheer joy of working towards a successful goal. Whether that goal is athletic, scholastic, or personal a parent knows that the work put in is twice as valuable as the goal itself could ever be. Our government has chosen a different parenting style. Our government has chosen to breed a mentality of dependency. An involved and effective parent would never allow a child to label laziness and greed as anything but laziness and greed and we would never encourage our kids to demand the fruits of another man’s labor. A good parent knows that there is infinitely more pride to be found in independence than there will ever be in dependence.

If the government cared about America as a parent cares about their children, then the issue of debt would not be at the center of every election this country will face for the rest of my lifetime. Think about that…..the amount of debt we have allowed to accrue under just ONE President will still be a burden long after any of the eyes reading these words have closed for the final time. A parent doesn’t prepare their children for life in such a fashion. Those who do are the ones who benefit most from our government’s complete lack of responsibility. A parent who feels no remorse in leaving a staggering financial burden to their children doesn’t deserve to have kids in the first place. That doesn’t mean that all parents who leave a debt to their kids are failures, it just means that those who actively plan to do so are failures. While I make no attempt to hide the fact that I am conservative when it comes to politics, this issue goes well beyond party affiliation. Figuring out who is to blame for the decay in the relationship between citizen and government is just as big a waste of time as trying to figure out who started the fight between brother and sister. It doesn’t matter, it just needs to stop.
A good parent would never, in a million years, choose the interests of his or her friends over the safety and needs of his or her own children. Every time our government makesObama Buffett a decision based solely in ideology, that’s exactly what they’re doing. Every time Barack Hussein Obama kills a job-producing, price-at-the-pump reducing, pipeline proposal so that Canadian oil can still be transported via the railroads owned by a “close personal friend,” he’s choosing that friend’s needs over yours. Every time Barack Hussein Obama travels to Maine and meets with the Union Leaders but refuses to meet with the suffering fisherman who desperately need a morale boost, he’s choosing the needs of his  friends over yours. Every time His Barackness eats a puppy, he’s taking it directly from the hands of YOUR daughter. Every time Nancy Pelosi speaks, she’s defying what’s actually needed in favor of what’s needed to keep her and her friends in “power.” Every time Bill Clinton smugly redefines the word “is,” he’s disregarding American need. Every time taxpayer money is used to advance ideology, it’s the same as you strapping your own children into the back of a Chevy Volt full of highly volatile, absurdly flammable, materials.

In November, it will finally be time for all of us to demand a better government. It will be time for all of us to stand up and scream until the “politicians” on Capitol Hill start behaving a little more like parents. The Presidential Election is only a symbol of that resolve. The results will come in our ability to stick to our demands well after the polls close. No longer can we stand by and allow horrible decisions to be made but only show concern when an election is looming. That’s what got us here. November will mark the family intervention that hopefully sets this country back on track toward the future we all know is waiting for us. A future that requires hard work by all, not just those who haven’t yet figured out how to milk the system. A future where dependency is frowned upon and integrity is honorable. A future where America stops wearing a diaper, puts on our big-boy pants, and finally starts to take more pride in the journey than the destination.
As always, thanks for playing.

Aiding and Abetting…..

”The image is one thing and the human being is another. It’s very hard to live up to an image.”

-Elvis Presley

Elvis

Is that our problem? Did the King (Elvis, not Obama) manage to sum up the entire scope of American politics and maybe even our society there in that simple, lip-curling, quote? Setting aside Elvis’ affinity for Quaalude flavored doughnuts, there actually is some sense in the words above. Especially when compared to the predicament in which we currently find ourselves.

Today, image seems to be everything. Everybody’s a star and nobody’s unique. Everybody’s better than everyone else so no accomplishment is worthy of praise. In fact, a genuine accomplishment is often frowned upon simply because of public opinion. Greed and an overwhelming sense of self-importance have taken over the very fiber of our country. We say that we want better for our children. We say we don’t contribute personally to the creeping kudzu of fabricated warfare, yet abstinence from combat is often not an option. Our brains simply won’t let us accept what we interpret as inferiority. The noblest of men in our country have, at one time or another, fallen prey to the proverbial “I want what he’s got” mentality. Entire industries have been built upon the notion of attaining what can’t currently be afforded. Our government essentially operates under this mentality.

Whatever happened to saving and yearning for something you can’t currently afford? It’s called entitlement and if you are in favor of getting life handed to you for little to no effort, perhaps this would be a good time for you to catch some form of public transportation right on out of this conversation. For those who believe in working your butts off and only going after that which you can currently afford with what is currently yours to give…..please read and share the following examples of desired image being provided to those who have done nothing to earn it.

  • We’ve all heard about the expansion of fraud within the major entitlement programs. Medicare, Medicaid, housing services, food stamps have topped the GAO’s list of waste, fraud and abuse for decades yet they have grown exponentially. In other words, more and more people have figured out that taking something for free is easier than working for it. I’m not saying that no one deserves welfare so put that ridiculous, race-baiting, victim creating nonsense back in your tent and take a little weed-nap, occupier! What I am saying is that the loopholes which allow such abuse are being ignored by those who could close them and exploited by those who gain from them. Our government is hemorrhaging money and all we hear from our leaders President and Congress is “it’s all his fault” or “it’s because {insert manufactured oppressor here} hates the {insert manufactured voting victim here}.”
    • Take a look at the so called Buffett Rule Obama is so excited about. Every time he gets to talk about increasing the tax burden of the “rich” or forcing the wealthyBuffett Rule to pay their “fair share” he gets visibly giddy. We, as a country, are trillions of dollars in debt. The Buffett rule, over the next decade, would bring in an estimated $46.7 billion. Under Obama’s proposals, our debt would increase by $7 TRILLION over that same decade. The Buffet Rule would make up exactly .667142857% of the money Obama plans to spend over the next decade. The men that Obama parades out onto the stage with him when he promotes this ludicrous idea are men who, like Mitt Romney, earn the majority of their income off of capital gains and dividends, not taxable wages. Notice no one is suggesting that those rates be touched. You know who will be affected the most by these new rules? It’s the young pro-athlete who is out there blindly promoting Obama because of a shared skin tone. He’s the one who earns over a million dollars a year in taxable income. It’s the idiotic little actress who uses her fame to promote Obama as the Messiah. Those people are the ones that Obama counts on in November. Those are the people that will promote Obama’s message of “fairness.” Their fame provides all the authority that will be needed to make them credible supporters in Obama’s constant campaign. In a society where disrespectful sound-bytes equal power and credibility, Obama has inserted himself as King.
  • This morning, I heard the delightful tale of another blatant misuse of a once noble idea. Kimball Clark, a 45 year old Boston man who has had a long history of “disagreement” with the police, was once again locked up for selling heroin. His “disagreement” stems from the fact that he believes he should be able to sell heroin while the police maintain that it’s still illegal and punishable by arrest. During the booking process at a Dorchester, MA Police Lockup, Clark was overheard making his one phone call to tell someone to “go get {his} EBT card and go to an ATM to get cash and bail him out.” He used his taxpayer funded EBT card to post bail for drug distribution. Now, I’m sure I will be called a racist for bringing this topic up in such a light but where in the hell does a man’s skin color give him the right to use MY money to bail him out of jail for selling drugs? I don’t care if Kimball Clark was as green as Gumby or as blue as a Smurf, he abused a system whose scope was never intended to cover his illegal activities and inherent lifestyle.
    • EBT Cards began replacing food stamps in the 1990’s. They essentially work like an ATM card only it’s you and me working for the money that goes into the accounts, not the cardholder. Since cash can be obtained from the cards, we are essentially funding whatever the cardholder chooses to do. Drugs, and porn all the way to tithing and baby formula. The intent of the program, like so many before it, was heartfelt. Unfortunately, loopholes are exploited and broadcast long before authorities can close them up.
  • Social Security Disability fraud is rampant yet very little seems to be done about it. In July of last year, Judge David Daugherty of West Virginia stepped down amidst an investigation into the fact that he approved almost every disability claim that came before his court. Eighteen months of Social Security disposition data show Daugherty decided 2,104 disability cases between Sept. 26, 2009, and March 25, 2011. He denied benefits in four cases. That equaled an approval rate of 99.8 percent. Anybody hear about this? No matter what was found in the course of that particular investigation, it points to a much bigger, systemic problem in our culture. It points to the fact that a judge was rumored to be giving out free money and 2,104 people lined up outside his court for their “fair share.”

Entitlement programs do not need to be expanded. They need to be enforced. The government does not need to support those who are simply lining up for a handout. If someone is truly unable to provide for themselves, then I praise God that we live in a country willing to step in and help. That’s what these programs were designed to do. That’s great. What I don’t agree with is this mentality that nothing is out of reach for anyone in this country.

I want to take my family to Hawaii for about ten days next year. Is there a government program I should ask to provide this trip or should I just buckle down and save my money and earn the trip? Remember when attaining the goal was as important as the goal itself? Remember when the struggle and the journey enriched the achievement?

“Fair Share” does not mean “free.” By living in this country you are given the fair share of the freedom due to you, but you are also expected to maintain your fair share of the responsibility. You don’t get the money without putting in the work. You don’t get to waste our precious electoral system by voting for the candidate you feel will give you the most free stuff. You don’t get to discredit the intentions of our Constitution by manipulating it to serve only your personal interests. Don’t expect His Barackness or any of his little handbag Chihuahuas to attack this issue. Don’t expect any politician to attack this issue. Doing so will immediately cost them votes. Besides, I’m not sure we want to know the entire scope of the fraud that has ruined our country’s initiative, motivation, and net worth. The change in this arena will come from a constant and impossible to ignore outcry whenever abuse is suspected. Politicians are afraid of losing the votes of those who benefit from fraud but why are those votes they depend on? Why is more not being done to bring shame onto those who are essentially robbing each and every one of us? Stand up and fight, dammit!

As always, thanks for playing!

“Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.”  - Sun Tzu

Barack Almighty

Entitlement apparently knows no bounds within the Obama Presidency. Too often, conservatives paint liberals with a broad stroke, saying that they all support entitlement programs. While it’s true that most liberals support the idea of the government providing for its citizens what they are too lazy or unqualified to provide for themselves, the idea that entitlement mentalities are exclusive to the left side of the political aisle is absurd. We’re all guilty of some measure of entitlement mentality within our daily lives, whether we admit it or not. Littering is an example of entitlement in that you toss something out your car window and feel that you are entitled to someone else’s effort to clean it up. People who leave messes on the tables at a restaurant feel that they are entitled to the efforts of the busser or server when it comes time to clean it up. These are usually the same people who loudly complain when a restaurant hostess has the nerve to make them wait for a table. They then complain that the meal is not “like they would make it at home” and then leave an unjustifiably small tip. When you put stuff that you decide you don’t need at the grocery store back onto a random shelf, you are displaying a sense of entitlement. You are creating more work for someone else. That someone else must be paid for his effort, and the cost of that salary is divided among the consumers. In the same logic, a server who complains about a small tip is displaying an obvious sense of entitlement. An ex-spouse who demands that the other raise the kids but then expects equal share in the credit for their success is displaying a sense of entitlement. Obesity is a form of entitlement. Those who lack the discipline to modify their diet or to stick to a structured workout cycle do not deserve the same health insurance premiums as those who do. Those who cannot figure out that $3,000 is ENTIRELY too much to pay for birth control don’t deserve to have someone else pay the tab. Those who major in Art History and minor in the destruction of liver and brain-cells do not deserve the same salary as a business owner who has sacrificed almost everything to build his company. In the same fashion, a corporate fat-cat does not deserve profit at the expense of customer health, safety, or trust. Companies that fuel a certain agenda do not deserve millions of dollars in taxpayer money to pay to their executives despite the fact that they are declaring bankruptcy.

In terms of political entitlement, on a grand stage, Obama seems to be the King of Gimme. The problem is that Obama sees the world through the haze of an antisocial Gimme some space..... personality, according to the definition of the disorder given by the Mayo Clinic. Many feel that the hearings being heard in the Supreme Court this week will prove just such a point with regard to the over-reach of Obama’s perceived power. Another example would be the mic’d up slip up His Barackness will undoubtedly be releasing Jay Carney to nibble away at in the coming weeks. Obama, while wired for sound, was caught telling outgoing Russian President Medvedev to relay to Vladimir Putin that Obama and his administration need more “space” with regard to the often stalled talks over the missile defense system. Obama implies that he will be much more “flexible” after his reelection and that he needs space to work his magic. Once again, America is made to look weak in exchange for Obama’s personal appearance of strength. He begs for personal assistance in the form of a delay on any talks that might make him appear as though he is not in control. The needs, safety, and concerns of the people in BOTH nations were cast aside so that Obama may feed his insatiable political appetite.

Politics has become one of the world’s best examples of entitlement mentality, Getting votes quickly becomes more important than principles. There is no pride in the workTrampled done if that work doesn’t produce massive amounts of public adoration. It would be like NFL teams deciding to play only the games they were guaranteed to win. The season would be short and relatively boring. Entitlement provides for a few but leaves in its wake throngs of others who suffer at the expense of those few. Again, Obama is a prime example but the rampant ridiculousness by which so many of his decisions are made can be found in almost any politician. There’s no pride in the work done by an entitled person. Their pride comes instead from the act of receiving something from another person. Occupy Wall Street and all their crazy tent-dwelling buffoons were a terrific example. There was no direction in their mission, but they all agreed upon a strong desire to get a lot of stuff for free. There was no sense of competition in any of their arguments because most of the people who take advantage of entitlement programs simply want free stuff. They have no drive to earn anything. Their job is the pursuit of that which they did nothing to earn. Obama has done nothing to earn any “space” from the Russian people. He can blast us with remarks from indignant advisors all he wants, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Russian people have not received the message that our missile defense system is not designed to destroy them. There is still fear in their hearts and Obama only cares about his re-election campaign.

Shine His Barackness has made it quite clear he feels entitled to our undying loyalty and vote. His statements make it sound as if he is absolutely certain of his reelection. All voter fraud allegations and conspiracies aside, he is owed NOTHING. We do not OWE the office of United States President to anyone who so blatantly disregards the traditions, obligations, history, and responsibility of such an honor. His smile, charm and arrogance may deliver for a short while the entitlements to which others feel they are due but eventually he will be called upon to produce results. Deflection may keep the weak distracted temporarily, but eventually there will be enough people saying “hey, that’s not what we were promised” and the facade of his record will defeat him. Obama and the left do not “own” the votes of, nor the rights to any race of people. If he wants our vote, he will need to earn our vote. Not the other way around. He is not the prize he thinks he is. The lessons taught to most of us through the pain of defeat have never been delivered unto His Barackness. Photo opportunity basketball games do not count. He’s never truly competed for anything but has instead twisted rules, playing fields, history, and definitions to suit his own agenda. He has manufactured accomplishments and then demanded that we honor him with unearned accolades. He has stripped away our freedoms and then demanded that we like it. He has told us that we’re not capable of providing for ourselves and then demanded our blind agreement. He has manipulated numbers to support his claims and has then demanded that these numbers be taken as truth. He has placed personal political need ahead of OUR needs and has then demanded that we serve him. November 6, 2012 will deliver a few demands we have of President Obama.

As always, thanks for playing.

President Barack Hussein Obama

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

Washington D.C. USA

March 14, 2012

Dear President Obama,

While I hold the office to which you were elected to occupy over the last three and a half years in the highest possible regard, I feel that I must question your personal recollections of that time. In fact, I feel as though I would be remiss in the most basic of my civic duties if I were to fail in this essential task. Mr. President, the respect you demand does not come with the simple attainment of title. When your record or ideology is questioned, such action does not equate to weakness, stubbornness, idiocy, small mindedness, or stupidity. In fact, I would submit to you that continued support for failed theory might be more suitable to such labeling. Mr. President, I pray that the man calling himself the leader of MY country would have the courage to address at least a few of the following concerns.

1. You claim that there have been 3.9 million jobs created under your command. (Source: http://www.barackobama.com/record/economy?source=issues-nav) You also claim to have an undying love for all things fair. If we’re being “fair,” shouldn’t we compare your unemployment numbers to the same measures by which your predecessor was held? See, your numbers are based on a labor force that is much smaller than the one by which other President’s have been measured. That’s manipulative and dishonest at best. On January 1, 2009 the labor force was estimated at 142,187,000. (Dept. of Labor). Last month, that number stood at 142,065,000. (Also, Dept. of Labor). So the labor force has shrunk under your command? Unlikely. Meanwhile, the population has increased by over 8 million people. (Census Bureau) How does one go up so significantly but the other decreases? It wouldn’t have anything to do with a President who is terrified of revealing true and accurate employment numbers in an election year, would it? You know the numbers will be revealed eventually, right? You’re not saving your legacy; you’re covering up its decay with temporary patchwork.

2. You say that we must “out-educate” the rest of the world, yet your education policies have favored only the unions to which you owe personal loyalty. Mr. President, your personal loyalties are very different from those of a real parent. You’re not a real parent in that your children will be safe, secure, and accepted for the rest of their lives. That most common of parental worry has been removed from your horizon. Those of us who live out here in that vast world beyond your ideology have very different loyalties and aspirations for our children. You dictate how, where, and when my children should learn yet you wouldn’t dare send your own daughters to a school run by the unions with whom you enjoy a reciprocal relationship. Give us the choice, Mr. President. Let us “out-educate” the rest of the world. The ones with whom we must compete do not have to overcome heavy-handed union interference.

3. You claim victory in the “agreements” you made with American auto-makers, yet there is no mention in that announcement of the mammoth failures entwined within the web of those so-called victories. We need jobs and lower gas prices, Mr. President. We’re hurting. The people for whom you were elected to provide leadership are hurting and your stance is that we need to be more patient and wait to see your brilliance unfold. Well, sir…..with all due respect…..your fairy-tale ideas are pure, unadulterated, hogwash. Nobody wants a Chevy Volt. Americans are notoriously adventurous, but those things are a little bit too much of a gamble. Plus, as Newt Gingrich so eloquently noted; “you can’t put a gun-rack in a Volt!” Stop pushing your ideals down our throats. We’ll get there. We’ll one day realize your dreams of battery operated cars, but only after the vehicles themselves have survived the strict filters of public demand and opinion, not when a President loyal only to liberal orthodoxy dictates it to be so. Offshore drilling has decreased by 53% during your time in office and your answer is algae? Is that what Ted Kennedy was doing in 1969? Was he working on the Chevy Chappaquiddick? You promise an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy, but as is so often the case, your actions contradict your promises. Keystone would have brought with it jobs, oil, and independence yet you struck it down for political reasons. North Dakota has enough oil to export and bring in trillions of dollars to offset your reckless spending, yet you ignore their success because it came in spite of your restrictions and overbearing regulations.

4. Mr. President, you have chosen to make “Equal Rights” one of your biggest issues, yet your definition of ‘equal’ is a bit skewed. You say you have “taken steps to level the playing field so that everybody plays by the same rules.” Sir, isn’t that kind of like saying that Tonya Harding was trying to “level the playing field” with Nancy Kerrigan? You see, everybody is NOT equal. In order for America to succeed, competition must filter out the weak. The NFL would not exist if everyone in the country was given playing time. Limitations must be accepted and taken into consideration. Otherwise, we’re left with even more entitled little snots living in tents, pooping in our streets, disrupting commerce, and demanding the fruits of another man’s labor. Your idea of a “level playing field” did not work for Russia and it will never work in a free America.

5. You claim success in the Affordable Care Act. The fact that you continue to call it the “Affordable Care Act” tells us just how far out of touch with our reality you have actually become. It’s ObamaCare and it is socialism. Plain and simple. My health is my business, not yours. What I eat is my business, not Michelle’s. If I want to pay for contraceptives, I’ll do so. I will buy MY OWN contraceptives. I will not ask anyone else to do it for me and I will NEVER accept your assertion that my Church should bend to your will. The Church will always be stronger than your earthly ideology, Mr. President. You say that ObamaCare will reduce costs to millions of Americans but you refuse to release real premium estimates until after the election. Now why would you do that? It wouldn’t be because the atrociously high costs of your “affordable” health coverage would all but guarantee your defeat in November, would it?

6. You claim victories in the area of National Security, yet the victories are not yours to claim. The victories you claim are like New York Giants fans saying “We” won the Super Bowl. You were there in an official capacity, sure, but the victories came with the risk, blood, and sacrifice of men with bravery you couldn’t summon with voodoo and a certified witch doctor. You can’t claim victory and apologize to an enemy in the same breath. You can’t claim victory but skulk away from the responsibility and accountability when it comes to a man with serious psychological issues being sent into a combustible scenario. Those things happened under your watch too. The victories you claim were made possible by the efforts of others. You have some good ideas for streamlining the United States Military, but the way you’re going about it is reckless. You don’t ask our military to pay more for their benefits and then provide the Gitmo detainees with a $750,000, taxpayer funded soccer field. By the way, didn’t you campaign on the absolute promise to close Gitmo in 2008? How’s that promise working out for us?

7. Your stance on taxes is based in more ideology. This idea of a level playing field is not the reality that a free-market system supports. In free-markets, demand and creativity drive profits. No matter what your advisors tell you, you do not have the right to dictate when a company has made “too much money.” It doesn’t matter how strongly you may disagree with the product, services, or governing policies of that company…..their profits should only be limited by the market to which their product appeals. Again, that appeal and demand will come from the free will of the American people, not regulations and snide remarks about those who have worked their butts off to attain the wealth you yourself hide from your loyal Obamunists. You are NOT a poor working citizen, Mr. Soetero. You are Barack Hussein Obama. You are rumored to be looking to personally purchase the home once owned by Katherine Hepburn for $18 million. How many of those “middle class” families do you think can relate to that plight? Rumors like that don’t get started around us “regular folks.”

8. Lastly, we receive word this morning that, under your command, the US Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a permit to the Northern Arapahoe tribe of Wyoming to “hunt and kill two American Bald Eagles as part of their religious freedom. Sir, I will spare you the pain of having to read all the myriad Fluke-ing contradictions contained within that statement and simply ask you a question: Can you imagine the backlash a Republican President would receive for such actions? Is that a “level playing field?”

Thank you for your time and consideration, Mr. President. I will anxiously await your response. I sincerely hope that you can read this message through the eyes of the people you have sworn to protect and the history you have been asked to preserve. To attack this message through the eyes of your own personal agenda would only highlight your inability to connect with those of us suffering under your command.

Sincerely,

The American People

“Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.”   - Henry David Thoreau

In Monday’s article we looked at what is really necessary to correct the course on which our country is now travelling. The needs go far beyond the 2012 Presidential Election and politics in general. The Election is just the first game of the season, but there are a lot more to go.

In the fall of 1991, Coach William Randolph of Fishburne Military School stood in the stagnant air of the visitor’s locker room at Randolph Macon Military Academy in Central Virginia. His anxious team huddled around him, most seated. His face was visibly agitated as he stumbled for the words to launch them out into competition. The entire team 1691OP was well aware of the fact that it had been a long, long time since Fishburne had tasted victory against that day’s opponent. His face reddened as he began to speak. “Today is their Homecoming Day. They invited us here to play them on their Homecoming Day. Do you gentlemen have any idea what that means?” The veins in his neck were now at a distractingly visible bulge. “They invited us here because they thought we would make a nice starter to the festivities of their weekend! They thought we would just lay down and let them march victoriously off to their Homecoming Dinner with a big smile on their face! Well guess what, men….dinner is about to get up off the table and gnaw on their throats! We are NO ONE’s scheduled victory! We are NO ONE’s commencement ceremony! They can have their party, but the mood will be somber. Their bodies will be bruised. Victory will be absent.”

Randolph Macon was soundly defeated that day, and Fishburne went on to win the Conference Championship that season. Coach Randolph’s screaming, spitting words still ring out in my ears whenever I need motivation. It wasn’t just the words that inspired the team that day, it was the passion behind them. It was the level of emotion his words were able to inspire in us that ultimately delivered victory. (After the game, we were able to laugh about the fact that Coach Randolph was the only injury of that game. He punched a tree at half-time to motivate us. Laughter is often very motivating!) The point of the story is that we are a country in desperate need need of motivation. We need someone who believes in us and is willing to fight alongside us as we battle a formidable opponent. Now, it would be easy to assume that America is the team and the President is our coach in this little metaphor. That’s how we’ve been programmed. Switch it. No longer do we take our orders from our elected officials. We’re here to take back what a corrupt and incredulous government has taken from us. Like we said yesterday, jerk the wheel to the right before we Sheen ourselves over a cliff! Determine our own course of action and demand nothing less than absolute adherence by our elected officials.

We the people who continue to work our tails off in order to survive in the nightmare of today’s reality have become the underdogs. We are the ones that the left dares to laugh at. They have deployed a brilliant game plan over the past decade or so, you have to give it to them. They duped us. They attacked our weaknesses and it is now time to fight back. It is time to fight for our morals. Whether you are religious or not, it is time to put theological differences aside and demand better from our world. Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Amy Winehouse lived lives completely void of morality yet in their deaths we are ordered to believe they were saints. Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen die following orders of protected men yet our very own Supreme Court can’t protect their funerals from disgusting protest. It’s time to fight for your family. Their attacks on family have not gone unnoticed. It’s time to fight for our children. Even if you don’t have kids, it’s time to step up and help those of us who do to tell the United States Government that they not know better than parents. Not on any subject. We will decide what’s best for our kids and for them to believe there is another option speaks volumes as to the level of arrogance found in our common enemy.  They have their anointed deity at the core of their arrogance. Most of Barack Hussein Obama’s support comes in the form of those blindly loyal to party or skin-color. We must be louder. We must broadcast his record nonstop, but our focus must be on the years after his presidency. Liberal virus has infected this country and it is time to vaccinate.

Because I pray, I’m a zealot. Because I pray to God, I’m intolerant. Because I oppose abortion, I hate women and their bodies. Because I don’t believe that a latte sipping, tent dwelling, participation trophy shining, moron deserves the same income as a CEO, I’m a fat-cat. Because I’m from Texas, I’m a redneck. Because I believe we all owe a huge debt of gratitude to anyone who has ever worn the uniform of the United States Military, I’m a right-wing nut. Because I believe marriage should be defined as a union capable MegynKellyof creating life, I’m a bigot. Because I think Barack Hussein Obama is an absolutely horrendous stain on the integrity of this great country, I'm a racist.  Enough! All they have is words. They have their voice, and we have allowed it to grow quite loud, but it is still just words. We allow their opinions of what is popular to influence our judgment. Remember just a few years ago when speaking ill of God or His Word was considered ratings suicide. It was akin to repeatedly using the “N-Word” on Prime Time TV. It wasn’t allowed. Can anyone tell me when it became okay to openly mock the teachings of the Bible? I’m not suggesting that every show recite scripture and every actress wear a turtleneck. So, help me….if Megyn Kelly shows up in a turtleneck tomorrow, I’m destroying my satellite dish! All I’m demanding is that we take the moral compass out of the box in the attic, dust it off, and take a gander at it. I’m not asking that all teachers be fired and every parent be given permission to educate their own children. I’m demanding that union interests be ignored entirely. I’m asking for the choice to have my tax dollars support a school my child attends by choice and aptitude rather than one the government chooses for me.

Get up! Demand the changes you want to see. Enlighten those who have veered too far to the left. The fight is tough but you are not alone. The temptations are almost irresistible but together we can strip them of their power. Demand better. Not just in your president, or your Congressman, or your actors, singers, authors, teachers, lawyers, bankers, athletes, and neighbors; but demand better from yourself. They have exposed our weaknesses, but they have in turn left themselves exposed. Attack and defeat. Now.

In a prayer before the Kansas House of Representatives in 1996, Pastor Joe Wright of Wichita, Kansas said:

“Heavenly Father…..we come before you today and pray your forgiveness and seek your direction and guidance. We know your Word says ‘woe to those who call evil good’ but that’s exactly what we’ve done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values. We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of your word and called it moral pluralism. We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism. We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have neglected the needy and called it self preservation. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justified. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem. We have abused power and called it political savvy. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.”

Go ahead…..bring on the “extremist” nonsense, lefties! We’re done playing by your rules, listening to your values, and we are most assuredly done welcoming your invasions.

As always, thanks for playing!

“Growth begins when we begin to accept our own weakness.”  - Jean Vanier

Can someone please explain to me why the liberals get to cry as if we’ve just kicked them in their Obamacles whenever we dare to mention God, The Ten Commandments, morality, scripture, verse, or hymn in public but they are then allowed to turn around and dictate morality to the Catholic Church? I am not a Catholic. I am a Christian, but I am not a Catholic. While I find Obama’s assertion that the mandate is “good for poor women” absurd, I have more of a problem with what the ruling represents.

Religion is not real popular among socialists. Religion is loyalty in something bigger than government. That is why Nancy Pelosi looks like a Pomeranian on meth every time she ObamaReligion attempts to defend her past claims of being a “devout Catholic” while maintaining loyalty to the liberal agenda.  Obama and Sebelius have officially made it impossible to do both. While the Catholic Church has maintained a consistent stance on birth control, Obama can’t seem to form a solid definition of “life.” This mandate, while getting a lot of attention and debate in the media is indicative of a much bigger Pelosi problem.

Whether you are religious or not is your own decision. Personally, God has played an enormous role in my life and I pray each day that He plays an even bigger role in my future. I know for a fact that many of the people reading these words feel the same way, but even if you’re not an overly religious person, you have to draw ire from the fact that this mandate is yet another attempt by Barack Hussein Obama and other ACLUeless types to poke holes in the freedoms that helped to create this great country. While the Department of Health and Human Services ruling would not require priests to hand out condoms at Church as some seem to believe, it would require Catholic charities, hospitals, and other organizations who employ large numbers of non-Catholics to provide contraceptives and abortifacients via the invasive scope of ObamaCare. Remember when we lived in a world where the word “abortifacients” rarely surfaced in everyday conversation?

We cannot give in on this, nor can we give in on the next attempt, or the next…. If the government is given more power than the Church, even in an argument for which you personally have no ardent opinions, socialism is assured. Obama cannot be given the freedom to dictate policy to the Church, in any fashion. Obama’s vision requires total government control and religion is a major opposition to this ideology. By giving His Barackness even the slightest permission on these grounds, we have given him control over our morals. He’s shown evidence of such arrogance in his ridiculously self-centered, Prayer Breakfast gaffe in which he insinuated that Jesus Christ would approve of his tax plan. I personally believe lightning should have struck him in the face as soon as he opened with his abhorrently condescending remarks about his “Christian faith” but alas, he Follow was allowed to finish. We cannot give him this win. This mandate represents an invasion. It’s an invasion of our freedoms. As Rick Santorum said in his speech before CPAC this morning, “It’s not about contraception. It’s about economic freedom. It’s about religious freedom. It is government controlling your life and it’s got to stop!” (Dear Howard Dean, THAT would have been the appropriate time for your high-pitched battle cry.)

Those of us who enjoy sex don’t necessarily do so as part of a religious belief. We do so because we’re human and no amount of Church policy is going to change that. We know it’s a sin, but we also know that Christ died on the cross to forgive those sins. We use birth control whether the church tells us to or not. Again, that fact is not going to change any more than people stopped drinking during prohibition. This mandate is no more about such causes than the Senator Obama Championed Senate Bill 511 was about proving John McCain’s citizenship. These types of moves are “testing” or “probing” maneuvers. Just like the many jobs bills he’s sent to Congress knowing they would fail. He didn’t want the bills to pass nearly as much as he wanted to force Republicans to vote them down. He can then use that information in a future campaign ad claiming that he would have saved us already if mean old Republicans didn’t keep shooting down all his good ideas. Allowed to stand, this ruling moves us one step closer to socialism. Allowed to stand, this ruling moves us one step closer to The Holy Bible as seen through the All-Powerful Eyes of Your United States Government. ObamaCare does not care for “the poor” or “provide access” as the left likes to tout. What it does is promote an ideology that the liberal view of birth control is more important than the view of a religious organization. I don’t necessarily agree with all the views of the Catholic Church, but I’ll fight to the death for their right to honor them over the political ideology of a controversial bill.

Faith is a belief in something that cannot be seen. Unfortunately, Barack Hussein Obama can be seen. He can be seen bulldozing any belief that contradicts his liberal orthodoxy. This is causing some organizations, communities, and longtime party-line voters to take notice. His brazen disregard for individual thought is starting to infringe upon freedoms granted by issues that transcend politics or government. I’m not real sure Obama believes such issues exist. He can make all the politically motivated “adjustments” he wants, but the fact is that this contraception mandate is just another failed attempt to indoctrinate a nation viewed as weak and controllable. Moreover, Shattered it’s an attempt to indoctrinate a nation viewed as being in need of this type of control. Put it into this perspective if your mind can possibly absorb it – Vice President Biden was the voice of reason in this “accommodation” as the White House is insisting we call it. Does that tell you anything? Joe Biden, who is normally kept in a day-care facility in the basement of the White House, was among many other democratic leaders urging Obama to make this concession. (Yes, Barackula, it was a “concession” no matter what you order the media to call it.) The concession now orders that insurance companies, not the employers, provide the contraceptive care. Great, they arrive in a different box, but religious institutions, charities, and universities are still required to provide the coverage which in turn provides things that go against their beliefs. It’s a carefully worded, veiled, vote saving maneuver that in effect changes nothing. This man is swine and he must go.

Stand up. Get mad. Whether you’re religious or not, if we keep giving Obama and all those on the left who think as he does the permission to chip away at our freedoms, we can’t complain when our country is run under the rule of their thumbs. Shout out ObamaShattered against the biting sting of media onslaught. One of the men left in the GOP race will be charged with the task of defeating Obama in November, but it is the duty of each and every one of us to keep the fire of this week going. Remember that he claimed Jesus Christ’s endorsement. Remember that his mind and his decisions belong to liberal ideology exclusively, to the point where his own Vice President has had to fight tooth and nail to get him to reverse a re-election destroying stance. Can you imagine that level of lunacy? We will elect a President in November, but it is the duty and responsibility of every American to keep him accountable, each and every day. It is our job to educate those blindly loyal to a party that has lost it’s way. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to stand up and stare down the destructive support our once trusted media has given to ideology over morality. Fight! Fight for the freedoms you hold dear and fight for the freedoms your neighbors hold dear. When you encounter someone who believes government knows better than individual, educate them. When you encounter someone who claims Obama has made rational decisions, silence them. When they try to sneak past our defenses, punish them. Our country is falling apart at the seams and we must repair it ourselves. A president is only as good as the morale of his country will permit. Get a President in office who’s on our side for a change, takeover the senate and force them to act according to the Constitutional intent set forth at the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention of 1786. Dammit I want to tackle something!!! (Insert Braveheart scene here.)

Quietly Staying On Point…

@JRobertGiles

“A president who, after thousands of years of human history, a Harvard law degree, and four years in the White House, cannot tell us with certainty what he thinks marriage or life is, is not worthy of the trust of the American people or a second term in office.  It is time for leadership in America.  It is time again to stand for self-evident foundational truths.”  - Rick Santorum

Santorum Logo

No longer is the race for the 2012 GOP Nomination being run by just two men.  Yesterday, Rick Santorum had the kind of day many would consider to be a “good day".” He won all three of the caucuses held. Santorum defeated Romney in Colorado where several polls showed the latter enjoying a considerable lead as recently as Sunday. He won Minnesota which is still trying to prove it’s sanity despite the existence of Senator Al Franken (D-MN). And he won here in Missouri in a “non-binding” primary.

Who is he though? We all knew he was so much more than just a sweater-vest, but why should we vote for him? I made a case for Mitt Romney when he won Iowa. I made a case for Newt Gingrich when he won South Carolina. Here is the case for Rick Santorum. Santorum was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1990 at the age of 32. From 1995 until 2007, he served as a United States Senator.

SantorumFamily As a member of the famous “Gang Of Seven”, Santorum loudly opposed many Congressional “perks” and investigated what would eventually become the House Banking Scandal and the House Post Office Scandal. His fierce opposition to what he viewed as governmental extortion led one Washington Post reporter to describe him as “a Tea Party kind of guy before there was a Tea Party.” In reading the information provided on his website, it is clear that Mr. Santorum’s family has inspired many of his political opinions. His views are those of a father and a husband, two titles from which he draws immense personal pride. He believes in empowering America to do what it does best, but he’s also willing to put laws into place that would make possible such noble endeavors.

Rick Santorum wrote and championed the “Born Alive Infants Protection Act” which protects a fetus that who survives an abortion procedure. This act received almost unanimous support when presented on the floor of Congress. In fact, there was only one Senator who opposed the bill. There was only one Senator with the “courage” to speak out against the bill on the Senate floor. There was only one Senator with a conscience small enough to allow him to support the possibility of a doctor having to stand in a room and watch as a human life faded before his bureaucratically tied hands. Can you guess who that Senator was? That’s right…..Barack Hussein Obama! When Pastor Rick Warren asked Obama in 2008 “at what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?” Obama, in full campaign mode at the time, responded “Well, you know, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a science perspective, answering that question with any specificity, you know, is above my pay-grade.” Eloquent as ever, Mr. President but Rick Santorum believes that marriage and human life are issues that transcend a campaign cycle. Opinions of these fundamental subjects should be rock solid, no matter what a political advisor may suggest. Santorum believes that marriage between a man and a woman is special and should be protected as such. He believes that it’s special in that it is the only union upon which life itself depends.

Energy is another topic being tossed around a lot lately. In addition to the immediate implementation of the KeystoneXL Pipeline, Rick Santorum has a carefullySantorum1 articulated plan for America’s Energy Policy. Whereas Obama’s energy plan is similar to Clark W. Griswold’s infamous roller coaster ride at Wally World (he’s the deranged, fake-gun wielding, psychopath – John Candy represents the public), Santorum’s plan is logical and doesn’t involve loaning billions more of our dollars to companies that build products none of us want. Santorum believes that America’s dependence upon foreign oil sources not only drives up costs of almost everything within our borders, but it also severely limits our defense options. Obama restricts domestic exploration and facilitates America’s dependence upon unstable, often adversarial sources. Santorum believes that Americans should be given the right to invent, explore, and innovate our own way to energy independence. Obama has weakened an already burdensome regulatory process and imposed ridiculously unfair ideology where solutions are needed. Santorum believes in getting government the heck out of the way.

Speaking of defense, Santorum served 8 years on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Even before 9/11, Santorum led the fight to reform our military not for budgetary or political reasons, but for logical ones. He wanted to transform our military from the Cold War model by which we now operate, into a force capable of facing and dominating today’s threats. Germany is no longer a threat yet we spend billions of dollars each year maintaining, staffing, and supplying several bases in that country. Countries that actually pose a threat to our country are supported by either trade agreements, or our own laws.

When it comes to education, Senator Santorum believes in a “Put Parents First” kind of plan. This obviously makes him an enemy of big-unions whose very livelihood depends upon the current system of corruption, cronyism, and indoctrination. His education plan calls for flexible options designed to maximize the potential of the individual student. No longer would parents be at the mercy of the government to determine the education path of their own children. No longer would good teachers be stifled or driven into other careers because of union regulations, demands, and involvement.

Obviously, Health Care is a huge issue in this election. Romney can’t possibly speak out against ObamaCare which scares me. Santorum, again with a “family-first” approach to his thinking, says he will repeal ObamaCare as soon as he takes office. Healthcare options should be between a patient and a doctor, not forced upon both by government regulations. His Barackness promised us that ObamaCare would lower our costs, yet the law itself specifically calls for increases in cost, taxation, and regulation. Businesses and Santorum2 our gasping economy can’t afford anymore of Obama’s “help” or “wisdom.” The Obama plan calls for tax incentives to encourage employers to stop providing coverage, leaving employees uncovered and in risk of penalty unless they succumb to the Obamanator’s Supreme Power and purchase government controlled healthcare plans. Santorum erases all that nonsense with a market driven healthcare plan that allows for premiums to come from pre-tax dollars. There is no religious conflict in Santorum’s plan as healthcare options are left up to the patient which, in and of itself, protects the religious freedom Obama is working so hard to strip away from us. (Liberals, feel free to insert “witty” anti-religion comment here…..the response is coming in the form of Friday’s article!)

Lastly, and the most important issue we all want addressed is the economy. None of this other stuff matters if we’re all broke and living in our Chevy Volts under constant fear of a battery fire. Rick Santorum has an economic plan which makes more sense than any of the others I’ve heard. Again, as is becoming a pattern, his plan is obviously the plan of a man who takes his family as more than just an obligation, or a photo-enhancer. Rick Santorum is a devoted husband and father of seven children. (That fact alone earns him some street-cred, don’t you think?) He believes the family is the first economy, and government should operate as a household operates. Santorum plans to simplify income taxes by reducing tax rates to either 10% or 28%. All others would be eliminated. He will also eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax and other confusing, often manipulated code within our tax system. He will lower the Capital Gains and Dividend tax rate to 12%. (That oughta thrill the Occupy Wall Street types!) He plans to triple the Child Tax Credit for each child in the home. Marriage penalties, of any kind, anywhere they appear within our tax code, would be removed. He has several other points in his plan that would make it much easier and less costly for companies to expand and hire.

All in all, Santorum would be a fine candidate for President. He’s stood up to Obama in the past and has won. He’s got much more experience than people think. I do believe that despite the popularity of the sweater-vest, it’s time to put on a suit and start acting Presidential. I’m not asking to sit on your lap while you read me stories, I’m asking you to run my country.

As always, thanks for playing!
