Is There a Pill For That…..

By: J Robert Giles

@JRobertGiles

We have been the forerunners of government. As soon as law and order was established anywhere, we never had any trouble.”  - Doc Holliday

There is something wrong with a man who fails to see any error in his ways after being given countless examples of its unquestioned existence. The most stubborn of men will eventually adapt a more effective line of attack to avoid another failure. It takes a special breed of human to truly seek comfort in failure. To create victory out of defeat. It takes an even more gifted and special man to be able to convince others that his failures are beneficial to them. Unfortunately, I’m not referring to the advertising industry that has done their best to inflate the demand for the Chevy Volt. They were only fulfilling the requirements of a customer. No, I’m referring of course to His Barackness. Our Deceit current President of the United States. Yes, ladies and gents…..there is something wrong with President Barack Hussein Obama. (Please take your time in picking your collective jaws up off the floor.)

All kidding aside, I firmly believe that Barack Obama suffers from Antisocial Personality Disorder and will eloquently and factually outline my case for such a statement in the coming paragraphs. For those who view such a statement as blasphemy against your liberal god, this is probably as good a point as any for us to part ways. Good luck to you.

The staff at Psych Central, the Internet’s largest and oldest independent mental health and psychology network, has put together a nice list of the common signs of antisocial personality disorder, but the chilling part is to see how perfectly the signs describe the man currently sitting in the Oval Office. Here’s a few of the signs and a factual example of how it could be used to describe President Obama.

  • Antisocial Personality Disorder is usually characterized by a long-standing pattern of disregard for other people’s rights, often crossing the line and violating those rights.
    • Despite what he says in public or through his minions, Obama’s signature legislation, which many of us believe will be ruled unconstitutional at some point in the next few months, is a stunning example. The Individual Mandate is a pretty clear sign of a man who holds absolutely no regard for the rights of the individual in this country. He clearly believes that we are too stupid to go on living without his supreme guidance.
  • Lacks empathy – Does anyone out there really believe that Barack Obama could relate to you on a personal level? Honestly? He has gone to great lengths to make us believe that he and Michelle are “just like us” but the truth is that Obama sees our world and our needs and our struggles as somehow beneath him. Barack Obama couldn’t relate to the people of this country on a personal level any more than Clay Aiken could relate to Mike Tyson.
  • Contemptuous of feelings of others – The Contraception Mandate is yet another piercing scream for help from the very fabric of our country. Obama has taken thousands of years of Faith and demanded that we abandon it in favor of his own beliefs. When we refused, he countered with a fictitious “War On Women” and an equally fictitious Sandra Fluke.
  • SafetyInflated and arrogant self appraisal – While some of this may not be the fault of President Obama and more a result of the insulated environment in which the Office of President must be placed, Obama’s arrogance seems to be particularly expanded. This symptom is also highlighted within the infamous Contraception Mandate.
  • Sufferers of Antisocial Personality Disorder lack a realistic concern about their current problems or the future – While Obama’s insulated environment is certainly a contributing factor, it’s not the only contributor. Obama’s arrogance and adherence to proven failure would indicate that his own mind is to blame for many of the problems to which his administration has exposed America.
  • Sufferers may be excessively opinionated, self-assured, or even cocky. Need I say more? Have you ever seen a man that better fit this description than Barack Hussein Obama? I personally don’t believe such a man exists.
  • May display a glib, superficial charm. Again, does this not describe Obama to a tee?

While President Obama certainly falls under the description of several signs of this disorder, the question remains as to whether any actual symptoms can be found in our President. The answer is a resounding “YES!”

  1. Failure to Conform to Social Norms – Obama seems to derive some sort of a thrill from disobeying the law. Not just the written laws in the United States Constitution, but any kind of law, tradition, authority, or opinion that he thinks will force him to contradict to his own ideology. It’s a rush or a high to him.
  2. Deceitfulness – Do I really have to lay out a list here? The guy is a slimy, lawyer-politician-celebrity. He will do anything and say anything to keep himself in power.
    1. Signs of this symptom often include the use of aliases:
      1. Barack Hussein Obama has used the names Harrison J Bounel and Barry Soetoro that we know of. Why? That answer has never been answered. Probably because no one in the news has asked it! (Seriously, do a Google Search of either name. It’s creepy!)
    2. The Buffett Rule – Just today, Obama is out there touting the plight of Warren Buffett’s poor old secretary who pays more in taxes than the billionaire. Notably absent from his speech was any mention of the fact that Buffett is in the middle of an EPIC lawsuit over taxes he has failed to pay in the past. To the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. President Obama either knows about the ongoing lawsuit and is choosing to intentionally mislead us with mention of Buffett’s  name, or he’s blatantly incompetent.
    3. Consistently “Adjusted” Unemployment Numbers – Every month, Obama’s approval numbers avoid total collapse by leaking the truth about the economy to us gradually. The numbers are always “adjusted” or taken from a different “perspective” than used in the past. It’s intentionally confusing,
  3. Impulsivity – A failure to plan ahead.
    1. Could there be a better way to describe Obama’s Presidency? Since ObamaCare will most likely not be around for him to hang the hat of his legacy on, what about the premature withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and the infamous Quran apology? Despite the catastrophic damage this move has delivered to our reputation in the region, it has also left us with very little presence to deal with lunacy in the adjacent countries. We didn’t pull completely out of Germany and it provided a nice, visible, warning sign to Mother Russia. We didn’t withdraw completely from Japan and we have yet to be attacked by China. Why is Obama’s wisdom superior to that of history?
    2. Green Energy Investments – Depending on the day, Obama will be out on the campaign trail inflating the tires of a different lie about the bastard children of he and Energy Secretary Chu. So far, almost everything they’ve touched has turned to bankrupt crap. On a bright side, the executives of these taxpayer funded nightmares are still receiving nice, big bonus checks.
  4. Angry Irritability and Aggressiveness – I’m willing to bet that Michelle has had to clean up after more than one Barack-ian temper tantrum in her day.
  5. Reckless Disregard For the Safety of Self or Others – The man demanded the Chevy Volt. Need I say more? He swears that he’s going to buy one of these mobile crematoriums as soon as he’s “unelected” and that’s a clear example of his disregard for his own safety as well as that of his family. In al seriousness, many of his demands have been met prior to any real testing or research. Companies have gotten caught up in the charm and power. They have delivered under pressure what should have been tested and proven. What about Fast and Furious? Why would Obama defend Eric Holder and the operation that ended the life of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry? Lack of empathy? Disregard for the safety, feelings, and emotions of others? Others he sees as political “enemies.”
  6. Consistent Irresponsibility - “Indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations.”  Anybody care to guess how many vacations Obama has taken since he took office? Your guess would be as good as any since no real number can be found but in the last month I have read reports of the Obama women in Mexico, Vail, and now Vegas. The Obamas have taken numerous trips to Hawaii and justify the $10M of public funds Michelle Obama is accused of spending on top-shelf Vodkas and expensive massages by citing George W Bush’s trips to his ranch in Crawford, Texas. Also, why is Obama not more upset with his democratic counterparts in Congress and the fact that they have yet to pass a budget under his rule? Cards
  7. Lack of Remorse - “As indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.” (Statement will stand on it’s own merit.)

Indeed there is something wrong with President Obama. The likelihood of him ever seeking the advice of a licensed medical professional for the disorder that consumes him is  about as likely as me throwing the winning strike for my World Series Champion Saint Louis Cardinals against the Florida Marlins on Wednesday, but I guess anything could happen. Should I loosen up my throwing arm in case Obama gives us a miracle? Nah, I’ll just continue getting old!

As always, thanks for playing!

You’re Grounded…

“Humility and knowledge in poor clothes excel pride and ignorance in costly attire.”  - William Penn

What keeps you humble? What is it within your brain that allows you to defend against the inevitable embarrassment that would surely come from exposing the majority of the half-baked plans, ideas, and decisions that pop into your head throughout each and every day? It’s humility. It’s the fact that we are not insulated like we were when we were DSCN1655kids. Last night, I had the distinct privilege to be slapped across the face with a bit of reality that had somehow gone unnoticed in my own life. Unnoticed may be a bit harsh. Perhaps…..”selectively ignored” would be a better way to describe my flight from the reality that my beautiful Jackie and my terrific kids are what keep me grounded.

That may seem like simple and quite common sense to most of you, but allow me to explain. Last night, my seven year old son, Aidan took part in his school’s Black History Night. While the majority of the kids in his school are not black, the event was organized in such a way that skin color was not the accomplishment being celebrated. The celebration was about the accomplishments of the  women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. All of the expected clichés were used to make the correlation between the quilts made by the freed slaves of Gee’s Bend and the diversity of our nation today, but the kids themselves, at least the younger ones like Aidan, couldn’t have cared less about any of that. Last night’s performance was an undeniable example of the fact that racism is something taught. The kids on that stage were untainted by the stresses and temptations of adulthood. Their world is insulated by their limited exposure and the result is unbridled happiness. They have yet to experience the  concept of prejudice, so they sing happily with all of their friends. They could care less about subjects like net worth or income levels, so they laugh with all of their friends. Sadly, the majority of the stress they feel in their young lives is the direct result of parental deflection, so they find comfort in all of their friends.

Unfortunately, we are not afforded the same luxuries of innocence in adulthood. We must face challenges that simply can’t be confronted with childish ideology. Consider anything that requires a minimum age for participation as proof of this fact. Drinking requires an attained age of 21. Voting requires an age of 18 (but proving it is apparently up for debate) as does military service. Driving calls for an attained age of 16, generally speaking. These age restrictions were put in place for a reason. It was the general consensus that unless you had reached the specified age, the emotional, physical. or intellectual requirements of these tasks  would simply be too daunting.

What we have allowed to happen, instead of facing the challenges as a family, is that we have changed the challenges. We have pretended that they don’t exist by putting limitations on our children. Competition is too hard for one kid so instead of encouraging him to work harder or to pursue those things for which his abilities will allow him to excel, we change the rules to accommodate the weak. Those kids grow up to demand what is not realistically theirs. (i.e. Occupy Anything) We thought we were protecting them, but instead we were rendering them incapable of performing in the world that awaited them. How can you be grounded when reality delivers the exact opposite of what you were promised?

Our politicians, celebrities, and pro-athletes are a lot like those insulated kids. They live in worlds where the only opinions they hear are the ones that will make them happy. TonyRomo Anyone who is famous, regardless of reason, is insulated. Do you really believe that Obama surrounds himself with people who will tell him “gee, Mr. President; I don’t really know if stubbornly ignorant is the way to go on this one.” or do you think he’s surrounded by a nest of little, yelping, Carneys who blindly support any decision he makes? Do you think anyone has had enough courage to tell Nancy Pelosi that her patented “I think I just farted” look is starting to greatly reduce the effectiveness of all that plastic surgery? No! Of course not. These people are surrounded only by those who will tell them what they want to hear. That’s not how a team works. A team wins and loses as a unit. If the NFL was run like American Politics, Tony Romo would be allowed to believe that he has won six Lombardi trophies and was the MVP of eight different Super Bowls, two of which he was awarded while in High School. No, a team requires preparation for battle with a common enemy. Each member of the team is assigned a position and prepares so that their contribution will lead to overall victory. When inevitable defeat smacks the team around a bit, they heal together and they prepare for the next battle with the added advantage of having learned the indelible lessons imparted only in defeat.

Compare that to the world in which Barack Hussein Obama  lives. Every decision he makes is made only after consulting with several public opinion polls first. He’s basically spoon fed his opinions by those with which he chooses to surround himself. In that regard, he can never be truly grounded the way a man who is part of a real team will be grounded. A real team accepts defeat as an opportunity to improve. Obama accepts defeat as someone else’s mistake.  He lives his entire life trying to be the man the latest polls tell him he should be. He’s left, like so many others who never figure out how to stick to their convictions, without an identity. He’s left, for lack of a better comparison, like the grown up version of those kids on that stage last night. Happily ignorant of the real world around them. Obama is fed only the information that will support the agenda of those who provide his platform. That’s only half the reality of the country he’s asked to lead. Guess what, Mr. President….Romo hasn’t won a single Super Bowl and your record is not nearly as impressive as your teleprompter would have you believe.

We, as a people, need to remain just as grounded and faithful as those kids on that stage last night. They found themselves shielded from the frightening reality of public speaking by the strength of their innocence. We must resolve to have that kind of faith in our position as conservative, Christian, right-wing, red-state, God-fearing, Church-loving, breeding, patriots and stand together in the face of twisted polls, veiled promises, and outright deceit that is surely coming our way over the next 8 months. Obama will continue his chameleon game, shifting his shape and political color to fit the latest demand of him. We cannot be that way. We must remain steadfast in our belief that if Obama’s given another four years, this country will be nothing more than a final exam question in a future History class.

As always, thanks for playing and have a great weekend!

I’ll Vouch for That…

“The tendency to whining and complaining may be taken as the surest sign symptom of little souls and inferior intellects.”   - Lord Jeffrey

Principal

A story broke here in Saint Louis over the weekend that just screams of so many unaddressed problems in our current system of education. The story itself is ludicrous but the bigger issues behind the story are issues that quite frankly don’t get enough attention. First…..the story.

There’s a school here called Shaw Visual Performing Arts Elementary. I’ll give your mind a second or two to digest that information. Assumptions of conservative reasoning are shunned by the school’s moniker alone, but here are a few statistics about the school anyway. (For source information, please click on the link.) Shaw Visual Performing Arts Elementary is in the St Louis City School District. It is comprised of 63.5% African American students and 33.6% White students. It performs well below the accepted averages in almost every measurable category. In Mathematics, for example, Shaw ranks at an average of 19.34% compared to the Missouri State average of 49.67%. Now, apparently this school has a long standing tradition of Caroling at Christmastime to raise money necessities that parents are unwilling to provide themselves. Any thought of referring to “Christmas” or the “Birth of Christ” was removed long ago, but only last week did the school make news. Last week, the Principal at Shaw Visual Performing Arts Elementary, during practice for the upcoming concert, asked if there were any students who did not wish to participate in the ceremonies. Out of 350+ students, only a handful raised their hands to indicate some sort of opposition to the melodious tradition. Those students were then led outside to the hallway so that the 300+ kids who were interested could go ahead and practice.

That’s it. That’s the story. Not much there, right? Well, it has been expanded and enhanced so that it has now become one of those non-issues of race despite the fact that no racial slurs, comments, or actions were used. The parents of the kids who were asked to go sit outside the auditorium are now demanding that the principal be fired. Over what? On what grounds should this principal be fired? Because she wouldn’t let yourFree/Reduced Price Meals stubborn little turd of a child sit in a classroom and disrupt the rest of the student body? Should she be fired because she didn’t enforce the beliefs, "values", and traditions of your family upon the other 300+ families celebrating the heavily altered traditions of their ancestry? It’s virtually guaranteed that any liberal reading this has already labeled me a racist, so here’s a little economic profiling for you…….Shaw Visual Performing Arts Elementary gives away 70.2% of the meals that are served in it’s cafeteria. That means that for every meal a hard-working family buys, two other families get one for free. Before you go all nuts and start sending me hate mail that claims I hate children and want them to starve, let me explain the significance of that math. Let’s say there were 20 kids that left the auditorium while the rest of the school practiced their Christmas songs. Now, out of that 20, how many do you suppose got some of those delicious “free meals” that day? Honestly think about it. We’re not just talking lunch either. Kids show up to school at 6AM these days. They eat two, sometimes three meals a day at school, and I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the fact that the woman who most likely benefits heavily from the free meals is the one hanging out at the school, on a work-day, taking pictures of what she views as “segregation” with her Smartphone.  She's not working so that she may one day repay some of the mandatory generosity so many others have bestowed upon her children. She's not self-conscious in the least about the fact that not only is her child receiving a free lunch, but she now believes a school principal should be fired for not bending to the will of her spoiled little entitlement-baby. Isn’t that kind of like a Japanese pilot demanding free admission to the Pearl Harbor Memorial; or an illegal alien demanding free souvenirs from the gift shop at the Alamo? I’m just saying…

That principal has EVERY right and obligation to make sure that the concert given to the people who donate the money that keeps free lunches flowing into the dissenters' bellies is a good show. The people who donate the "lunch money" deserve at least that much, right? If there are a measly handful who choose not to participate, then by all means, get them the heck out of the way. This event raises a bunch of money to provide children with meals that apparently over two thirds of the parents at this school cannot provide on their own. Isn’t it about time that people who depend on others to raise their children stop being the first and the loudest to complain when it is not done to their satisfaction? The principal acted appropriately in my opinion but perhaps she could have avoided the entire situation before it began. To be honest, I cannot think of a more shining example of the need for a voucher system of education in this country. This story is isolated to a school here in Saint Louis, but I’m absolutely certain that at least one such example can be found in every school district in every major city in the United States. I would love a school that promoted my family’s traditions within it’s walls. I would love to drop my son off at a school that is allowed to sing “Christmas” songs at “Christmas” time. Children who come from conservative, Christian families could pool their allotted education dollars with the children of like-minded families. Feelings would cease to be hurt over traditions not supported by the boisterous minority. No longer would I be forced to feed the children of families who only send their kids to school for free meals and hopefully a chance to bring a big money, civil suit against “the man” someday. No one is claiming that the “secular holiday songs” were religiously offensive. The bottom line is that the handful of kids just didn’t “want to participate.” Do any of you recall a time in your youth when you were asked if you wanted to participate in an event at school? Do you remember a time when you were given a choice in anything that school demanded of you? If these parents want to voice their political, cultural, or non-religious views through their children, then perhaps we should allow them to do so. Perhaps these kids would be more comfortable at My Mom’s a Nosy Fool Looking for a Payday Elementary. Kids shouldn’t be forced to be the voice of their parents any more than they should be given a choice in what they do at school. A voucher system would allow for a world in which the minority of students who do not celebrate Christmas for whatever reason would never have to see a Christmas tree and would certainly never be asked to sing a “secular holiday song.” I’m willing to bet that, in such a world, the student body at the school to which I choose to send my kids is much, much bigger than the one serving 70.2% free lunches.

Like I said, I assume I will get all sorts of “you don’t know what it’s like” messages from the left-leaners who for some reason continue to read my articles, but their opinions gradescartoon are as irrelevant on this topic as they are on any other. A school voucher system is a good idea for American education. It would allow disruptive kids like the ones at Shaw to be taught by overly sensitive, social barnacles like yourselves while my kid is free to compete and rise to the top on his own merit. I don’t want my kid to make the honor roll in a school where every kid is praised regardless of effort. I want my kid to make the honor roll in a school where he is actually challenged. Our current system caters to the laziest, most uncooperative segment of students while leaving the ones who truly enjoy learning unchallenged and demoralized. Isn’t it about time we create, for our children, a society in which achievement is encouraged, not ridiculed? Isn’t it about time we create, for our children, a system in which education and retention are more important than fashion and celebrity gossip? Isn’t it about time we stop letting unions tell us which teachers we are allowed to promote and which ones we should force into alternative career paths? These things are all fun to rant about, but it’s time to take action. It’s time to get up off our fat, lazy, entitled asses and create a better world for our kids than the one they’re about to inherit. I do NOT owe your disruptive, proudly uneducated, poorly guided, morally ignorant, socially inconsiderate burden a free meal and I certainly don’t owe any credence to his/her/your self-serving demands of special treatment. Get over it.

As always, thanks for playing

Habit of Working…..

BY: J Robert Giles

I am a great believer in luck. I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.”   - Thomas Jefferson

Recently, Newt Gingrich made a few comments about the poor that have been so predictably misconstrued and smeared across the media that researching the topic has made Hardwork21 for a very entertaining morning. I can certainly understand why Newt would not be appealing to those on the left, and more specifically those on the left who thrive in the State of Entitlement. I can certainly see why a successful, opinionated, Southern, white man who would dare to speak of laziness among the poor would be the subject of such criticism in liberal circles.

For those of you who have somehow escaped this story, Mr. Gingrich was speaking in Iowa recently when he said “Really poor children in really poor neighborhoods have no habits for working and have nobody around them who works. So they literally have no habit of showing up on Monday. They have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash’… unless it’s illegal,” he said.

While there may have been a slightly more sensitive way to phrase his point, I see nothing wrong with the sentiment expressed. All day long today, I’ve seen phrases like “working poor” and “disparity”. Newt Gingrich didn’t say that all poor people are criminals. He didn’t say that anyone without a job is a burden, but in an overwhelming number of the cases out there, he would have been well within his right to do so. Not everyone without a job is a criminal and not every unemployed person out there is milking the system but we cannot ignore the statistical FACT that there are now officially more people taking from the system than there are people contributing. That math simply won’t sustain our nation very long. If you’re having one of those slow, Monday kind of days, I’ll explain it for you…..imagine our economy is a big pie. You can’t keep eating the pie, and sharing the pie with your neighbors and even your enemies while telling the bakery owner that you hate him and you think he should give you more of his pie for free. Eventually, you are going to run out of pie. You will then go hungry, and you will starve. Most people have discovered that working pays the bills, but no one can argue the fact that there are an absurd amount of people in our country who simply milk the system and live off the government with no ambition, no motivation, and no remorse. Our money is simply “there for them” to use. If Newt Gingrich ends up being the Candidate to earn a duel with Barack Obama in the 2012 Election, then we must prepare for an all out assault. Drama-mama-Obama-Llama (TM) will use every media source at his far-reaching disposal to tell and re-tell the atrocious beliefs of the rich and white Newt Gingrich.

I don’t necessarily know that I agree with all of Mr. Gingrich’s views, but I do know that he does not hate poor people. People like Steve Benen have gone so far as to insinuate that Mr. Gingrich believes children should start working at age 9. I love absurdly sensationalized writing like that of Mr. Benen. It’s that kind of hogwash that gets those “I’m liberal because my parents said so” types off the fence and into the conservative movement. This comment will not go away soon. They will make sure of it. Before we go to the polls next November, many of those “on the fencers” will be blasted back into the liberal lunacy because they read and believe stories like the one this buffoon has spun.

Do not let yourselves, or your neighbors or friends believe that Newt Gingrich is against the poor. Look at the stories logically and ask yourself if a man who believes childrenPoor should be slaving away and providing income to their families at the age of nine could have ever survived a political life as long as the one Newt has enjoyed. The sentiment expressed in his comments is absolutely, 100% accurate. There is a sense of entitlement in this country that no one can legitimately deny. You can dress it up anyway you want to; you can call it welfare, assistance, bail-outs, or the esteemed “Occupy” movement, but it’s laziness wherever it is applied as anything but a temporary fix. There are plenty of people who use the assistance provided by many entitlement programs for the reasons and duration intended. Those people work hard, educate themselves, and scrape together everything they can until they can improve their situation. Those people view welfare as a shameful request. Those people believe that taking money they did nothing to earn is disgraceful and they work as quickly as possible to remove the big government nipple from their ambitious lips. Those are not the people Mr. Gingrich was talking about.  Obama and his Solyndra-loving, Smallpox researching, government dependency peddling cronies will try to convince you that all poor people are just down on their luck and need more of our love and compassion. There will be dirty faced, ribcage exposed children peering sadly out of the dirty windows of a dilapidated home to pull at your heartstrings. Those are not the people or the mentality that Newt Gingrich despises. Those are not the people I despise. The ones that make my blood boil are the ones that I encounter on the streets of downtown Saint Louis fairly regularly. For example, a few weeks ago, as I walked down Washington Avenue, I was approached by a clean, well dressed man on a Smartphone who put his conversation on hold long enough to look me in the eye and say “let me get some change up outcha, white-boy.” Most of the responses that came to my mind would have most likely landed me on the news for a few days so I just laughed and kept walking. My money is not yours just because you talk loudly, moron!

POTUS-Diddle There is a real problem with entitlement in our country. We can keep shoveling the issues under the rug. We can keep allowing the media to convince us that evil exists in logic. We can keep allowing good men to be run out of candidacy because of hypocritical belief systems that seem to materialize in the left whenever the right does something they condone and encourage among their own leaders. Bill Clinton diddled an alarming number of fugly women yet he’s heralded as a hero. Herman Cain ‘allegedly’ had an affair while he was working in the food-service-industry and the left simply can’t handle such indiscretion. Call them out on the double standard and you’ll be labeled a racist despite the fact that they are attacking a minority. Such logic has no place in the mind of a liberal. Dare to express favor for a candidate the left does not approve of and you will be deemed non-progressive. People cheat. Republicans cheat, democrats cheat. Liberals cheat, conservatives cheat. It happens. It’s an ugly part of life on planet earth. Good men cheat. Good women cheat. It doesn’t mean their judgment is permanently flawed. Stupid decisions make judgment permanently flawed. My disgust with our current president has nothing to do with his sexual history. The thought of old scrawny McBig-Ears getting tossed around the Lincoln Bedroom by his predator looking lover just disgusts me, but it is not the reason I despise him. I despise him because of his habitual stupidity. Period. I have not led a pure life by any means. There are people in several states with stories about me that will never permit a run for public office, but I do not pretend that I am above them when they succumb to human nature. When they act as though they are better than me because of their illogical reasoning and their condescending tones, then they earn my disapproval…..no matter what letter they put before their state. (R-MO) or (D-MO); it simply doesn’t matter if they had no business being elected in the first place!

Keep eating the pie. Keep giving away the pie. Just don’t expect more pie when you run out and all the pie-makers have moved to more friendly countries where their efforts are encouraged, supported, and applauded. Disparity is directly related to effort. The Wall Street Movement can throw all of the silly catch-phrases they want to but it does not change the fact that disparity is just a clever-sounding way of saying “let me get some change up outcha.”

As always, thanks for playing!

They Just Can’t Let Us Enjoy the Good Things…..

By J Robert Giles – CLICK HERE FOR FULL SITE

“Our will was only emboldened by Mayor Bloomberg's heavy-handed attempt to eradicate Occupy Wall Street; our brutal eviction from our homes at Liberty Square has strengthened both our resolve and our legitimacy.”   - Actual Quote from OWS Official Website

Dammit! I was having such a good morning until the Occupy nutjobs had to go and ruin it for me! Woke up without the cold / fever that’s been hanging on for the past several days; 3436146348_f330ea5598 had a great morning with my beautiful bride, Jackie; the sun’s shining and despite the fact that he’s a Gator, I find myself inexplicably fascinated with the success of Tim Tebow. I’ve said many times that God doesn’t care about sports. He doesn’t. That’s a fact. But I have to believe that He’d give more than a passing glance to someone likeTebow Tebow who so openly discusses his Faith when shying away from the topic is most certainly the easier option. I’m not a big Bronco’s fan and I absolutely loathe John Elway (personal reasons – he’s worthy of my ire, I assure you), but I have to give a big smile and a manly nod to Tim Tebow.

After I filled my head with useless commentary from a former-Cowboy-riddled panel of experts (both openly Christian as well, just far more confusing attire), I flipped over to the news. I watch the coverage of ‘the movement’ in much the same manner as we all watch coverage of anything that takes place in a trailer park. I personally lend no legitimacy whatsoever to these jobless, clueless, deodorant-less idiots but some of their quotes are just comical. The passion they show for something about which they know nothing is amusing. I’m not even sure which channel I was watching this morning, but the commentator made some comment about the OWS Website. A website might lead to good material for an article, but instead it just got my blood boiling.

When I stumbled upon the quote above, I nearly ruined a perfectly good chair. Let’s break it down, word by enraging word. Okay, first…..your “will was only emboldened”. Use Bullshit of the word ‘will’ suggests that there is some kind of organized mission. That’s not true. You’re all uninformed morons who aim to disrupt capitalism. You can’t. Go home. You claim victory in the size of your crowds, but I’m not impressed. Finding a thousand people who want to attach themselves to a group whose flame is being fanned by media   exposure is not legitimacy, idiot. Second, “heavy handed attempt to eradicate Occupy Wall Street”. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states that you “have the right to peacefully assemble.” I know it’s a moot point since nine out ten people who cite the First Amendment as their claim to legitimacy couldn’t tell you what the second or third amendment are. Heck, most of them couldn’t even tell you what the first amendment is about, they just heard someone else say it. Anyway, you do have the right to peacefully assemble but you do not have the right to poop in the streets. You do not have the right to turn a park on the border of what should be considered Holy land into a tent-city, slum-village. You do not have the right to keep anyone from going to work and you most assuredly do not have the right to interfere with the construction efforts going on across the street from your ‘headquarters’. That land belongs to patriots and fallen heroes who worked in buildings dominated by capitalist organizations. (Those buildings were destroyed by another ‘movement’) Your free speech ends when mine is restricted, got it? Third; your “brutal eviction” from your “homes in Liberty Square?” Seriously? Your ‘homes’? What the heck, bro? Dude, like, you can’t lay claim to public property and stuff, man. It’s like, not yours to claim. Go take a shower and an absurdly painful round of immunization shots. Congratulations, you’ve brought back Scurvy.

The last part of the quote, the part about “strengthening the resolve and legitimacy”. Well, that’s just nonsense. You have no legitimacy. You may have resolve, but it’s misguided and will soon fade just like everything in your world seems to do. Logic and true legitimacy will soon wash away the stains of your movement. (Kind of like your mom washing your undies for you, huh dude?) The holes in your theories will begin to expand as your demands are shot down methodically and logically. Your movement is nothing but a chance for a bunch of entitled, lazy, morons to get together and try to lay claim to something they didn’t earn. You have no leadership. You have no direction. All you have is blame. Sooner or later, blame fades to need. Those numbers you point to as signs of victory will continue to dwindle as quickly as media interest. Public interest is already gone.

article-0-0E55A3ED00000578-860_634x438Your movement is based on insanity. Your chants about “99%” are axiomatically false. That 1% you seem to hate so much has every right to use their wealth to influence government. They’re the ones paying into the system. Without the 1% you hold in such disregard, there would be no police to keep you safe in your “homes”. There would be no sanitation departments to clean up after you. There would be no parks for you to claim as your own. There would be no refunds for you to receive. Our corporations pay more in taxes than the corporations of any other country in the world. But that’s not what you’re complaining about, is it? You believe corporations should stay out of government, correct? So vote for someone who doesn’t take contributions from them! I promise you that candidate is NOT the one currently claiming to ‘have your back”. That man is as clueless as you are!

I’m willing to bet my left pinky that a minimum of 50% of the people in any “Occupy” location around the country either received refunds from the government last year, or didn’t file a return. I’m sure the number is actually much, much higher than that but if you want to wage your own finger to prove it, be my guest! You rant about billionaires but receive funding from George Soros. You vehemently oppose corporate greed from the platform of your pithy Tweets sent from your iPad while sitting in Starbuck’s personifying Massengill. Nothing you stand for makes any sense, so go back to your mom’s basement and assess your priorities. Perhaps use the time to remove the bolts from your face, wash the disgusting mess on top of your head, shave, and fill out a few job-applications. Don’t be afraid to contribute a little hard work to one of those evil corporations if they offer you the chance.

Giving Away the USA….

"There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation." – Margaret Thatcher

Ever heard of the Universal Service Fee? Ever see it on your cell-phone bill and just assume it’s a fee you signed up for at some point? Guess what…..it’s not. The Universal Service Fee is a program by which you, me, and anyone else working hard to pay their own constantly changing cell phone bill are actually paying for “low-income families” to enjoy cell-phone freedom. You see, the money you pay to cover this fee each month is then collected from your carrier and turned into cell-phones for the poor.

“According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) telecom providers receive money from the Universal Service Fund to provide cell service to lowbanger_with_blackberry income residents. In order to qualify for the program you need to show you are receiving additional forms of assistance like food stamps or TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families). The Universal Service is funded by fees paid to telephone providers when customers pay their phone bill.” {Chris Nagus – KMOV}

I’m sick of providing for those unwilling to provide for themselves. Just because I have something you want does not mean you are entitled to it. Welfare, dependence, entitlement……they’re all  damaging but prevalent mentalities in our country. Remember the old days when you worked your tail off with a goal in mind? Our country has become the equivalent of 312 million little brothers and sisters whining because we don’t get gifts on our big brother’s birthday. The liberal in you is laughing dismissively at that comparison, but you know as well as I do that it’s true. We’ve got to put an end to it.

spending government-spending Where’s the pride? Where’s the American Spirit we all claim to hold so dear? That spirit, the one we all claim to understand…….it says nothing about getting crap you didn’t earn!! If you didn’t earn enough money, and carefully budget that money, to go out in your own car, fueled by gas that you paid for, and buy your own damn cell phone then you don’t get a cell phone. You’re just going to have to wait to call all of your life advancing associates so eagerly awaiting your contact. It’s easy for me to sit here and complain from the safety of my computer, but what can we do to make a serious dent in this crippling mentality? What can any of us do on our own? After all, you didn’t get a choice in whether or not you paid this Universal Service Fee, did you? No, you didn’t. It was something that was simply added to your bill, never explained, and forced upon you. If you don’t pay it, you don’t get to continue using your own phone. That’s fair, right? Pay for someone else’s free phone, or we take yours away. Exactly how our forefathers drew it up, right?

It’s high time we start letting the people responsible for actions such as the Universal Service Fee know that we are sick of funding mediocrity. We’re sick of supporting a system that allows and encourages lucrative unemployment. There are streets that need cleaning, graffiti that needs erasing, highways that need repair, and neighborhoods that need policing. Do some of that and then we can talk about getting a cell-phone, okay? Being unemployed has become a full time job. If you’re good enough at it, you can get pretty much anything you want without having to work for it. Truly indigent is one thing. Poor, uneducated, and loud by choice is quite another. Why do I have to give a cell phone to a man that refers to me as “whitey” or “cracker” and then insinuates that I’m racist if I don’t vote for an unqualified, unproven, un-American candidate? Obama was elected because an overwhelming number of people believed he would provide them with more free crap than John McCain bea-income-550x330would have provided.

The biggest problem is not the laziness and loudmouthed pride in borderline illiteracy. It’s not the “gimme that cause you got it and I want it” attitude that seems to have   gripped our nation’s youth. It’s not even the welfare system itself. The problem is that we have let lawyers and corrupt legislators get us to a point where there are more people taking from the system than there are contributing to it. There are more people with their hand in the cookie jar than there are cookies. Do you understand, or should I come up with another way to say it? There are more foxes in the hen-house than chickens or eggs. Giving to those truly in need is a noble, generous cause. Expanding the definition of ‘need’ to include those who simply don’t want to work is criminal.

Here’s a short list of just a few of the entitlement programs YOU are funding…..

Universal Service Fee

Medicare / Medicaid

Social Security

529 / Coverdell

Supplemental Security Income

Pell Grants

Unemployment Benefits

Welfare/Public Assistance

LIHEAP (Low Income Housing Energy Assistance Program – 1 in 10 recipients are fraudulent!!!)

Stafford Loans

Food Stamps

TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program)

Consolidated Health Care Centers Program

As I’m sure you are aware, these are just a few of the literally hundreds of ways people are continuously milking our country dry. To make matters worse, the people tasked with running, monitoring, and enforcing the guidelines and policies of these programs are “mentally unemployed” despite the fact they collect a paycheck backed by my tax dollars. Fraud, failure to identify fraud, misappropriation of funds, embezzlement…..there are too many stories to count. We continue to get screwed while manipulative people manipulate a system that encourages and thrives upon manipulation.

You know what has to be done, make sure it happens!

As always, thanks for playing!

All great change in America begins at the dinner table.”

-Ronald Reagan

I’ll be the first to admit that I simply haven’t been all that captivated by the so-called Herman Cain controversy. I’ll also admit, albeit with a bit more KKardashian shame, that I have paid more attention to the Kardashian publicity/wedding event than I have paid to the Herman Cain sexualHermanCainProfilePic scandal. Yes, although Kim Kardashian is a disgusting example of pretty much everything that’s wrong with America, she does have Mr Cain beat in the looks department. That’s about it.

I sincerely hope that anyone reading this rant knows me well enough to know that I couldn’t possibly care less about anything Kardashian. (Except Bruce Jenner’s hair. It’s mesmerizing.) I care even less about the vague, baseless and transparently misleading accusations against Herman Cain. I have yet to hear a woman’s name mentioned in association with this so called scandal, but I cannot emphasize enough how little attention I have given to this story. If one has identified herself, then I sincerely apologize for not calling her a liar by name. Personally, I don’t care if Herman Cain wears a diaper and sucks on a pacifier when he’s in the privacy of his own home. I don’t care how he dresses or who he slept with twenty years ago. That’s for him to reconcile. As far as I’m concerned, he’s being attacked by the very people I consider to be my enemies.

No one at the schools Obama claims to have attended can remember him. There has never been a woman claiming to have been Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s girlfriend in college, high-school, or any other period in his life. I find the absence of past more alarming than a questionable one. A questionable past means Mr Cain fought through some demons. A questionable past means he has made mistakes similar to the ones we have all made in our lives and he has learned the lessons inherent in the pain. NO past means someone is going to great and expensive lengths to cover up a personal history that for some reason or another cannot be revealed. Why? Where are the people from OUR PRESIDENT’S past? No one makes it through the American political system without making enemies willing to expose, twist, and inflate even the most miniscule of indiscretions, so how is it that Obama seems to have no past? My theory that Obama was actually invented in George Soros's basement is starting to seem plausible, isn’t it? (No, I do not really believe he’s a robot. A demon? Yes. Robot? No.)

Sadly, this questionable coverage of Mr Cain’s questionable past is just another shining example of the infuriating control media continues to exert over the easily fooled. (Otherwise known as Obamanites, Barackians, Idiots, or Disciples of Obamunism)

Scott Whitlock, Senior News Analyst atCainClinton Media Research Center, points out that “NBC, CBS, and ABC have developed an insatiable hunger for the Herman Cain story”. The “story” has been told over fifty times in just three days on the three major networks, insuring that the spark becomes a flame in the kindling of public opinion. In contrast, the far more serious allegations of sexual misconduct by Bill Clinton were largely ignored. We had named women, with graphic descriptions of specific acts and they were Pelosi given far less airtime than this story with no named sources. The media is insuring our minds are consistently focused on something irrelevant while debacles like Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Nancy Pelosi’s facial tremors, and Eric Holder are being shuttled to safety behind our complacent backs. Shame on us!

So? What can we do? There’s an old saying in business: Never wage war with someone who buys their ink by the barrel. That saying is now antiquated like so many of our routines and beliefs. Media is no longer the “Great Oz” that it used to be. With all of the advancements in technology, we truly have the ability to insulate ourselves from the blistering onslaught of liberal lunacy if we so choose. As individuals, we lack the power to defeat the media. It’s sad but true. No, you can’t defeat the media, but you CAN and SHOULD do everything in your power to insure that the influence of the media is kept to a dull hum within the walls of your home and more importantly within the minds of your family. Media is not limited to TV and Internet either. Don’t be fooled. Your kids are being influenced at school, in advertising, with music, and even in the seemingly innocuous activities in which they participate.

Change starts at the dinner table. Such a simple statement from a man known for such things. It’s true, when you think about it. If we take the time to educate our children, media will eventually bow to their demands like the ratings driven, approval seeking, money dependent addicts they are. If we train our children to think for themselves; to seek the company of like minded, challenging people; to be unafraid to lead in an unpopular direction if it’s the right thing to do; to question hype; to study the facts and not memorize sound-bytes, we will eventually be okay. Teach your kids the difference between conservative and liberal and why the choice is so critical. Explain, in terms they can understand, comprehend, and repeat; the belief that small government and minimum taxation breeds success whereas big government and absurd taxation breeds dependence. Liberals are weak. Period. Anyone who believes someone else is better suited to make their own decisions for them is weak. Plain and simple. Put enough arrows in the quiver of a first time archer and they will eventually hit the bulls-eye. Your kids are going to face unimaginable influence from the very people, thoughts, and beliefs you fear. Are you giving them enough arrows? Could your teenage daughter defend her conservative opinions to an aggressive teacher with liberal views? Is your son strong enough to lead his friends in the direction he believes or will he follow in the direction of the pack? We can’t afford to just assume our kids will make the right choice when faced with such decisions. You have to get in there, get your hands dirty, and put in the work to guarantee they are.

Don’t let the world outside your home raise your children and then complain when your children behave exactly like the world outside your home.

As always, thanks for playing!

Who Do You Play For?

Galatians 1:10 - For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

I realize that it may seem a bit sac religious to start off an article with a Bible verse and then launch immediately into a rant about sports, but please bare with me as I bring it around to what I can only hope will be an appropriate conclusion. I want to take a moment here, in the beginning of this article, to congratulate the World Champion Saint Louis Cardinals. What an unbelievable ending to an improbable season. Thank you!

130257957_extra_large_large  PA300779

In September, I posted on my personal Facebook page that I was saying goodbye to the Cardinals. I’ll admit it. I posted something along the lines of “Hey Cardinals, I’m gonna go watch football for a few months. Try not to suck next year.” For those of you familiar with the story, you know the Cardinals were basically eliminated from the playoffs as late in the season as September. I gave up, they didn’t. Instead of giving up, they played with a carefree zeal that I’ve never before witnessed in sports. Each player, manager, and front office employee approached each miraculous game with the same attitude as the fans. We all had that “playing with house money” mentality. It was a completely different sense than was present in the 2006 World Series, and definitely different than the 2004 World Series. There was no panic. If we lost, we lost, but we lost to a city and to a team that no one hates. We lost a series that we [The City of Saint Louis] hadn’t prepared for. Every win was a surprise and a bonus. The Championship was simply the impossible ending to a real-life fairy tale.

I was given the opportunity to watch the unforgettable Game Six in the friendly confines of my parent’s home in Fort Worth, Texas. I was there for a meeting in Dallas that morning and spent the night watching the game with my brother and my father who happen to be Born Again Rangers Fans. While they may not have been as happy with the eventual outcome of that indescribable game, the fact that we were able to witness it together will not soon be forgotten. First of all, we don’t have that many opposing teams for whom we cheer. Except for baseball, our views on sports are pretty much aligned. Second, we realize how slim the chances of the Rangers and Cardinals ever playing each other again in a championship setting truly are. Third, even if they do manage to get back there someday, what are the odds that I will be in Fort Worth on the night the two teams battle it out in an eleven inning game that could not have been more thrilling if Michael Bay directed the story? The emotions that ran through that living room as I sat there outnumbered by the two men I feel closer to than anyone else in the world will never be duplicated. Moments of sheer agony followed immediately by sheer joy in the only emotionally inverse relationship I’ve ever experienced with Dad and Ryan. I understand their inability to see it that way just yet. Their team was ONE STRIKE away from the first championship in team history on TWO occasions only to have it ripped from them both times. As a fan, you don’t get over something like that very easily.

How am I going to tie this into the Bible verse I opened with?  Good question…..

I have often stated that it is inappropriate to pray for victory from your favorite sports team, but all those faces in the crowd at Busch Stadium last Thursday night were talking to someone when they clasped their hands in front of their faces and whispered “please please please please.” The perspective I took from that scene was forged as I flew out of a city that is prospering the next morning. The Dallas / Fort Worth area may not be prospering in the fashion to which it has grown accustomed, but there are construction cranes lining the skylines of both cities and all the ones connecting them whereas the wooden boards are still in the windows at Lambert Saint Louis International Airport from a tornado that struck on Easter weekend. On the way to the meeting on Thursday morning, I counted thirteen E-Class or higher Mercedes Benz vehicles. That’s notFort Worth Skyline mentioning the BMW’s, multiple Bentley’s, Range Rover’s and countless high end Lexus’……Lexi…..plural of Lexus. Dallas and the surrounding areas are experiencing a better economic climate than many cities whose economic downturn started where Dallas sits now. The prayers for a Cardinals Championship were not all coming from inside Busch Stadium on Friday night. Many of them were not even prayed by Cardinals fans (although there aren’t many non-fans in this city). Today, as the confetti is swept off the Victory Parade route along Market Street where I happily stood with my family yesterday, the stories of what this championship truly means to the city are beginning to emerge. In particular, the story of the hundreds of city employees whose jobs were literally saved by the revenue generated during the four games held here in Saint Louis. Last year, Saint Louis Mayor Francis Slay began furloughs among all city employees, including himself. Employees have noticed a steady reduction in pay, implementation of mandatory days off, and constant restructuring during the budget crisis. It was announced today that furloughs have been lifted. THOSE are answered prayers.

Most of the time, it’s simply the superior skill and execution of the athletes on one team versus another. This year, that was not the case. The teams were very well matched, and they provided fans with seven unforgettable games. I’m willing to bet that these teams could play each other 99 times and the series would be decided 50-49. Those are IMAG0742 the acts of men. Those are the things that make our time here on earth more enjoyable but the wins and losses are simply not what God cares about. The prayers God cares about are the ones that desperate men pray when giving up would be much easier. The prayers God answers are the ones that propel His Plan and His word, not bragging rights. The prayer He answered for me personally in this series was not in the form of the Victory Parade yesterday. It wasn't answered in the historic swing of Freese’s bat or the tearful tone of Joe Buck’s voice saying “we’ll see you tomorrow night” in a direct homage to his legendary father. The prayer answered in my life can only be explained with Divine Intervention. On Wednesday night, Game Six was supposed to be played. It was supposed to be played, and by all accounts the Rangers were supposed to win their first championship. The game was rained out and I got to watch the makeup game with my brother and dad on Thursday night. The Rangers were one strike away; just one pitch; on two occasions but ‘my’ Cards just wouldn’t go away. It was the most exciting game in World Series history and made it possible for me to watch Game Seven with my son in my lap, my beautiful bride beside me, and within earshot of the fireworks and celebrations filling the streets of a deserving city.

Again, God doesn’t care who wins or loses a game invented by men. He doesn’t care who has the best stadium, the biggest contract, or the most wins. God cares that individual lives are lived according to His Word. God had nothing to do with the outcome of the game itself, but He had everything to do with the emotions and the memories many of us are feeling. Even those in Texas who may not be feeling the jubilation that is gripping St Louis have to realize that they were part of something historic and special. Historic and special here on earth. When we put too much emphasis on a championship (and the inherent bragging rights), or money, or material possessions, or appearance; we lose track of what is truly important. God has a plan for all of us; Cardinals fans, Rangers fans and even Yankees fans. (I have my own hopes as to the Plan for the latter.) All of us, regardless of Faith are part of a Plan. It doesn’t matter if you understand it, as long as you believe it. When you start to care more about your own plans, agendas and missions than those of God; you suffer. You suffer alone and fall prey to the trappings of man. Just ask the Cowboys how much success has come their way since building “the biggest house.”

To say that the Cardinals won the World Series because God favored them is absurd. God doesn’t care about such things. But the Cardinals victory does illustrate the verse quite well. They were 3 games out of the wild card spot with 5 games to go…….they had to get through the two best records in baseball just to earn a spot in the World Series…..Rangers had all the momentum, etc. The Phillies thought they earned the championship trophy back in May by signing their names to a few contracts. They listened to the opinions and it cost them a season. The Brewers employ one Nyjer Morgan and are therefore prohibited from discussion in this article. The Rangers are a young team that I believe will win several titles in the next couple of years, but this season went to the team that was able to abandon their own plans and follow one that had been written for them. No one expected them to be there and they played like they were savoring each moment.

Serve God; not a team or a paycheck. Lead your children to trust in an untold Plan and their lives will not hinge upon one team’s victory. Lead your team in the ‘right’ direction, not the easy one. The Rangers and Cardinals earned their spot in the Championship Series without having to buy it. You can’t “buy” your way into Heaven either. You have to accept Christ and the Plan God has set for your life. There is no other path.

Thanks for playing!

J Robert Giles – Card Carrying Member of Cardinal Nation

PS: I realize it’s easy to write this from the stage of a victory, but many of you will find it interesting to know that this article was actually started in the guest room of my parents house when the Rangers were leading the Cardinals 7-4 in the eighth inning of Game Six. I had originally intended to write this as a congratulations to the Rangers and to the many fans with whom I have exchanged entertaining trash talking throughout this series. Thank you for your gracious, “Texas-sized” competition. Sincerely.
